Her and Kenny could have gotten into a shootout with a group of bandits that led to him getting shot with it potentially being fatal, and if they wanna have the scene where he sacrifices himself then have it to where a horde of walkers get attracted from the noise and Kenny tells Clem to get out of their with Aj while he keeps them distracted.

I do think it’s worth mentioning that Nick killing Matthew was not an accident. He went out of his way to ignore Luke’s instruction to stay with the group and made the call to kill a man who he had no way of telling was evil. I think even if you take the Clementine part out of it, we’re looking at a child, no older that 15 who’s alone and doing what she has to in order to survive. During the Clementine paradox part. I dont agree 100% with the comparison to Nick. Nick did not accidentally kill the guy on the bridge. He fired with the intent to harm even after Clem and Luke were telling him to stop. I didnt really care for Nick simply cause it didnt seem like he really cared at all and only acted on his own. At the very least, Clem doesn't attempt to kill Javi, she robs him but gives you back your candy bar if you mention its for Mariana, makes a deal to help you for exchange of the van. Then during the moment in the Bar, we saw previously how the bullets were not firing. We almost got killed cause of those bullets. I think Clem is Justified in being angry especially considering the same dealer attacks Javi. Clem killing him was a genuine accident, where Nick's was not. Even if we had just met Clem in Season 3, i still would have sideded with her after she shot the shady dealer. I especially would have shot Conrad considering he had Gabe at gunpoint.
Those are some good counters to those situations! With the Nick comparison, you could swap him out with basically any "mess up" in the franchise, an earlier script had Ben, one even had Bonnie from 400 Days. The main point was that I don't believe 96%> of players would have stuck up for Clementine if it was anybody but Clementine. Most decisions run from 40-70%, it's exceedingly rare to see a 2-option choice run so overwhelmingly to one side. It's also worthy to note that it's not JUST about covering for Clementine - it's about honesty to Tripp. I think if it wasn't Clem, many more people would have wanted to be honest with Tripp to get on his good side. One thing I didn't like about ANF was that the characters are so wishy washy. I don't think these are that bad honestly. Kate was behind the wheel and she ultimately crashed and opened up the hole for the walkers to come through. It was an accident, but I can see why she would feel guilty about it, especially after seeing how fucked all the regular citizens were. Gabe is annoying, but in the scene where he admits that he aspires to become like Javi he also says that his father needs their help. So I could see why he would want to stick with him and David forces his hand in the end anyway. No defense for Eleanor though. She saw that she could help people in RIchmond, but siding with Joan despite knowing what her people did in Prescott is hard to wrap my head around. javier is one of my favourite TWDG characters, its the reason i loved ANF so much. the fight scene with david and all the flashbacks just... AUGH. hes a really well written character, it sucks that he was kind of just tossed aside after ANF.
They wanted Clementine in this game for fan service in the process of having Veteran fans to return, but that is basically this season's downfall and this shows why pandering is a bad idea.
You can save both Gabe and Kate (if you want) by the choices you make, if you made right choices if you want that outcome), Clementine will go after Gabe/Kate while you go after one she dosent, but David dies in that scenario. Also, you can save Clint by shoting Joan. Great video tho, keep it up
Everything You Say is Straight Facts about ANF and the The Clementine Paradox and all that plus The Brotherly Relationship, but I feel Not Shooting Conrad no matter how contradicting it is the to the one scene in the tunnel actually makes the story a helleva lot better from having more bodies on the team to Get a pretty good redemption arc and a cold ass scene with Badger where Javier can let Him take the reins and take care of badger himself which in turn itself gets justice for Francine and Mariana in all plus his End scene in the Season is a pretty good touching moment with a character decided to not take a chance on plus Not Shooting Conrad doesn't trigger everyone hating Javier after the truth comes out about it making everyone bearable which is always a plus in my book.
I didn't even know Conrad could kill badger, just goes to show how little content there is of somebody actually letting him live! That sounds awesome, definitely the better choice to let Conrad live imo!
@JoshuaTXI In fact, the best of all is that you can ensure that Conrad can survive until the end and in this way be able to redeem himself and be a better person (for what he did in the tunnel with Gabe and Clementine, and by being a better person I mean, that he manages to cope with the death of his girlfriend and technically changed for the better, and most likely if Javi decides to be the leader of the Richmood community, he would become his right-hand man, I mean that's something I'm going to assume happens) and Conrad is also the first decisive character (along with Dr Lingard) to be able to make it to the end alive and have his happy ending... unlike other characters from other past seasons... ps: I would have liked Conrad to have had a conversation with Clementine to apologize for what he proposed in the tunnel after discovering her... also in the third episode, he told Javi that he felt bad for what he did and also when Clementine tells What happened between her and the new border, Conrad understands that Clementine no longer has anything to do with them and for that reason. When Javi decides to hug her, in the background you can carefully observe the look of regret he has for having done that. That's what I call, redemption...
Very Agreeable My Friend, "A New Frontier" does have major flaws I wont argue that but there are some very well made parts in the Season itself like the Intro the Relationship /Bond David and Javier have that make it complicated but special in a sense for whenever they have their moments they have some pretty good and sometimes deep talks among each other. One more thing too The Villians in the Story are some pretty cruel and evil people but just like Carver you get to see them pay for what they did even if its only for a bit. I also feel that at the end of the story when you spare Conrad and Dr. Lingard their character arcs are at a sense of peace and its good they get to live to the end just to strive and be better than they were.
Wait, but doesn’t Gabe end up dying if you don’t shoot Conrad? Or can that be avoided? Because like I’m still gonna shoot him because I’m not losing another kid 🤣
@@Black_Frost212 Not if you accept his plan. Javi lowers his gun and tells Clem "he's sorry" for it, Conrad lets Gabe go, Clem hands over his gun so he won't cause trouble, and they head back to the group. He only shoots him if you don't choose anything, likewise that is game over and non-canonical death of Javi and Gabe at that moment. (Nothing will happen to Clem for using it against the new frontier, he will get angry with Javi but will forgive him eventually...)
Fantastic video! 💯 I loved A New Frontier but I viewed it as a spin off game. It didn't feel like a part of Clementine's story to me. It was the weakest of the four seasons due to the Clementine paradox but still a fantastic game. Hope you make a video on The Final Season!
I think what really could’ve saved this season is if Clementine was actually working with the new frontier. That way she’d still be included while not being a character easily swayed by the player or vise versa. Like if clementine was held to work with the new frontier in raids because she’s working to keep AJ alive. Idk I just feel like clementine was kept very flat and having a better characterization for her rather than “looking here it’s the girl you love all grown up and being badass!” Would’ve worked better for her inclusion..
Terrible transitions from season 2 to 3. It kinda funny that you can skip season 3 entirely and still understand & play S4 without any confusion. I think it was due to Telltale prioritizing quantity over quality & needing more innovation with the gameplay as well. Season 3 shows that with its shallow characters (Minus Clem & Javi), story arcs, bland dialogue, etc. Overall, Season 3 is okay. 👍
Great analysis of season 3! You should do a sequel video delving into season 3's 4 different endings, and talk about going with Kate and Clem to save Richmond basically means betraying your whole family
I will forever dislike David purely because of his whole “you’re trying to steal my family from me!” mentality. Like no bro, you willingly gave up your family when you decided to fuck off for several years, sorry they’re people and not robots and shit changed while you were gone. Not exactly sure why you’re surprised tho when neither you or you wife were happy in the relationship before the apocalypse.
The New Frontier was Mid. The Javier story was actually great, however, the inclusion of Clementine ruined it in how they included her. They essentially trivialized our choice from season 3 to aid the "mystery of AJ" and develope Clementine. Can i just say this: It would've been much better if they didn't include clementine.
@@Black_Frost212 Yeah if you say at the gate that she's your friend and your not happy about it she will stick by you. Make sure to take her side on the David stuff but at the end she always sticks with me and Connrad shows up in the end and saves you.
@ SAME! Like she’s a little rough around the edges but after the shit show that is season 2 I don’t blame her but she still has her heart even when she first meets javi she still feels like clementine just older and growing up
35:45 honestly, the multiple endings of season two just set up the fandom to be pissed off no matter what season 3 was. Like the fandom already loved to complain about how “the choices don’t actually matter” (despite it being clearly stated your choices affect the *story* not the *game* )because there are 2 options for how to continue the story: 1) choose one canon choice to make the game off of, which invalidates the other choices and pisses off every who chose them or 2) do what they did and write off the choices that were made to bring everyone to a central story, with a flashback to explain why your specific storyline ended up here. I don’t care what people claim about “oh I would have been happy if they did it this way instead” more than likely you wouldn’t have been, the grass just seems greener on the other side. The only way people would have genuinely been happy was if telltale made 3 games following each outcome (Clem alone, and one for staying with Kenny and one for staying with Jane) because at the end of the day anything else falls back to the wrongful criticism about the choices not mattering. Also side note, while yes I agree not wearing a seat belt in general is stupid, but especially while teaching someone how to drive, you cannot genuinely tell me that it doesn’t make sense for Florida man Kenny to not wear one (especially when we see him not wear one while driving the RV in season one). Not everyone is going to have a badass death in the apocalypse, realistically a majority of the cast across all games should have died from starvation, dehydration, general illness, and infected minor and major injuries, instead of just one unnamed kid in an attic in season one.
The one thing I don’t like about this season is how inconsequential things were for clementine. It would’ve been a great season to get Aj back, since that’s the season she lost him, but she didn’t even do that. That whole hunt for Aj happened OFF screen. I feel like you could skip this season and still have a pretty broad understanding of the story, especially concerning clementine.
I'll always maintain that the premise of the game is heavily flawed. S1 initially thought about making Lee related to Clem, but decided otherwise because it would cheapen the bond between them by trying to force you to care about there. S3 does this exact mistake, trying to force you to care about David because "he's your brother", when he's an iredeemable coward who bails on his family and psychologically abuses his entire family (as well as physically abuses Javi and potentially others). Every time I play this season, I fully romance Kate and despise/fight David. He's a bad guy, a bad guy with a tiny bit of desire to change, but still a bad guy who doesn't deserve for Javi or anyone to love him. He's someone who abandons his own biological kids with their stepmother who he married under the false pretense that he'd always take care of the kids since she doesn't feel capable of it, and he then has the audacity to claim Javi is the cowardly one if he refuses to let him abandon his family.
I will always stand by the fact, that if this was a side game akin to Machone, it would be liked quite a bit more, and not called it "bad" even though it's honestly one of the better seasons, especially with the honestly huge variety of endings.
ngl I just couldn’t focus because Javier is voiced by the same guy as Carlos Oliveira from the RE3MAKE (Jeff Schine) and I expect him to stay something funny 💀
I was absolutely in the minority Clem had to learn to stop acting like tangerine. It was an accident why lie ? And Conrad I just wanted to calm the situation down say what he wanted to hear and get out of the train tunnel and figure out what to do from there . Conrad was valid in his feelings and low key made sense. So I took his deal and he was loyal and saved Javis life . Clem still came with me in the end so ... I don't regret my choices
And I honestly, I feel like outside of season four in season one season three was the most fun I had with the game even if it’s not important in the long run. I loved Javi as a protagonist. The guy was strong, funny, and honestly pretty charming. It was nice to go play a game of The Walking Dead while you’re a powerhouse compared to the last season where you were helpless and had to do everything. And I understand the season does have his issues. But something I will praise is how they handle David. They never wants to make excuses for how he acts. Even when they try to explain how his mindset was, they never wrote in an excuse. For me saying Clem was fine. Especially since I have the ending where they are at place Kenny wanted to go in season 2. And I mean, yes, some of my decisions that have a bias towards her, but regarding Conrad, I only shot him because he was holding Gabe hostage. And I didn’t want Javi to lose another family member not even a day or so after losing Mariana
I have been given a new perspective on ANF from this video, I have always been very disinterested in the story of this game because of how it treated things with Clem, it’s a story that is ruined by the bias towards a character that makes no sense in universe, I think there was a better way of tying ANF to the main games, keep the entire game almost the same, but you swap Clem with either Christa or Molly, I lean more towards Molly, because you get a little knowledge, but you’re not as attached as you are to Clem, and you have it as a setup for the final season, with the new frontier breaking down, David either dead, or broken over the death of Kate, Lingard dead because Molly wouldn’t need to ask him to find AJ, because Clem is with AJ, Clint would try to keep the peace until Joan kills him, and the game ends with Javi and whoever stays in richmond preparing for the war coming as Joan discovers Lily, and recruits her to her delta
When I Started This Season I Thought Javier And Clemintine Both WIll Be Playable And Work Together But I Was Dissapointed Because Of That Expectatiion. Otherwise this game is really good and the onl ything bad is GABE And Kate. They act like they are not in a zombie apolapyse lol
@clementineflowerx well tbf ones a teenager and Kate just wanted to leave David because she was scared of him and all that because he’s incredibly violent
I love a new frontier like love love, I just finished it was clumped up with the main walking dead story, I wish it was sorta a side plot that has nothing to do with the main plot like it takes place within the timeline but has nothing to do with the clem story
Elinor's character assassination was legendary you can't just hint at a normal romantic interest as an alternative to trying to get into your step sister... why didn't he step sister just marry Javier it's just bizarre. Back to Elinor you snitched on us and got us caught and as a result the guy you knew best got shot by the people that you ratted us out to after we attempted to save him why are you blaming us for your poor choices?! Bonnie level writing!
The s3 side-characters suck. Jesus obviously is epic in his 2eps of screen-time. However: Tripp, Eleanor, Conrad, Ava are under-developed. Javier’s flirting in Ep1 gives the impression the love interest will be Eleanor OR Kate. The “Prescott” crew, Javier’s family met 1 day ago. They are 1-dimensional, want revenge for Prescott. The cabin group wasn’t perfect, but at least we got to know them lots better. Luke, Kenny & Jane are like-able & memorable. (Before the Jane v Kenny finale)
The only good thing s3 had was the opening scene. Ep 1 was kinda interesting but they screwed it up when they killed Mariana unnecessarily, the only interesting character of the season
The only good part i remeber liking about this game when it released was the short parts in each episode where it let you play as clem 💁♂️ worst descision they made not makin her the Main character in this season
I get New Frontier has its issues, but i literally dont care what anyone has to say, season 2 was 1, the worst season by a mile, 2, the absolute WORST survival group ever
I liked season 3. People are way too hard on it. To me it’s really good to watch different people let’s play the game. I enjoy watching let’s plays of this more then season 4 and 2 for the most part

You can save both Gabe and Kate (if you want) by the choices you make, if you made right choices if you want that outcome), Clementine will go after Gabe/Kate while you go after one she dosent, but David dies in that scenario. Also, you can save Clint by shoting Joan. Great video tho, keep it up
Oh wait we can save Clint? Well that’s good because he felt like wanting to only decent people there and then he just died. 😭
@@Black_Frost212 Yep, if you blow Joan's brains out he will survive
Thank you so much! Definitely will have to finish the story, tons to discuss for Season 4!
Can i just say this:
It would've been much better if they didn't include clementine.
Conrad is love, Conrad is life
Bro
Man's gets shot every playthru idk will let him live the next time haha
Not going to let him kill Clem since I still have Lee-Instincts to protect her.
I can't wait for the final season episode of yours!
This game had the most potential to be the best season. Like just imagined if they made it so you can play the game in clementines perspective
All this chaos over puding !
WHAAAT? THERES AN ENDING WHERE DAVID LIVES?
The games better if you don't kill Conrad and Clem will forgive you.
I always choose Kate I dont like David my family is toxic I know the type.
Wait Clem can forgive you for that?
@@Black_Frost212 Yeah if you say at the gate that she's your friend and your not happy about it she will stick by you.
Make sure to take her side on the David stuff but at the end she always sticks with me and Connrad shows up in the end and saves you.
@ oh cool! I may try that to see what happens haha
@@Black_Frost212 Just don't say you'll use Clem for a barging chip. I love clem in season 3 she's harder but still Clem.
@ SAME! Like she’s a little rough around the edges but after the shit show that is season 2 I don’t blame her but she still has her heart even when she first meets javi she still feels like clementine just older and growing up
Damn bro, only about 350 views 40 minute video?
The video is awesome!
Thank you so much!
The way they killed Kenny off was stupid
I thank you so much For making this
I will always stand by the fact, that if this was a side game akin to Machone, it would be liked quite a bit more, and not called it "bad" even though it's honestly one of the better seasons, especially with the honestly huge variety of endings.
ngl I just couldn’t focus because Javier is voiced by the same guy as Carlos Oliveira from the RE3MAKE (Jeff Schine) and I expect him to stay something funny 💀
Great analysis, man 👍
Was waiting for this one!
I don't regret my choices
great analysis!
Regardless of what they did in that season it's still 10x better than season 2. It did everything better.
@clementineflowerx well tbf ones a teenager and Kate just wanted to leave David because she was scared of him and all that because he’s incredibly violent
i hate what they did to kenny but still season 3 is actually my 2nd favourite season after season 1
javi is an incredible character
27:10 Walter White ahhhh moment
Great vid
I love this game❤️🧢(still waiting for S5 🥺)
The s3 side-characters suck.
Jesus obviously is epic in his 2eps of screen-time. However: Tripp, Eleanor, Conrad, Ava are under-developed.
Javier’s flirting in Ep1 gives the impression the love interest will be Eleanor OR Kate. The “Prescott” crew, Javier’s family met 1 day ago. They are 1-dimensional, want revenge for Prescott.
The cabin group wasn’t perfect, but at least we got to know them lots better.
Luke, Kenny & Jane are like-able & memorable. (Before the Jane v Kenny finale)
this season had so much potential but they threw it away by making it alot abt Clemtine
hi haven’t watched yet but i bet it’ll be good vid
Hope you enjoy it, man!
Tbf TWD after Rick departure was much better and I think S10-S11 was peak of series since S1-S3
Nothing will come close to the,1st season
would you do one on season 2
There's already one on Season 1 and 2! 4 will be coming soon!
Can’t wait!
New frontier is actually my favorite in the series. I still hate David
The only good thing s3 had was the opening scene. Ep 1 was kinda interesting but they screwed it up when they killed Mariana unnecessarily, the only interesting character of the season
Telltale didn’t cook with this season they burned!😂
The only good part i remeber liking about this game when it released was the short parts in each episode where it let you play as clem 💁♂️ worst descision they made not makin her the Main character in this season
Analyze Season 4 Pleaseeee And Clemintine Journey
I get New Frontier has its issues, but i literally dont care what anyone has to say, season 2 was 1, the worst season by a mile, 2, the absolute WORST survival group ever
Underrated
The van
Season 2 has worse writing than this one though
Wasn't the best season of twd. I went with keeping kate alive
I liked season 3. People are way too hard on it. To me it’s really good to watch different people let’s play the game. I enjoy watching let’s plays of this more then season 4 and 2 for the most part

Repetitive. Poorly structured. Should probably watch your own videos to realize when you say stuff that doesn’t make sense
Your feedback would be better if you gave examples of stuff that doesn't make sense.
You're the first to make such a point, so, would be great to see you expand on that feedback!
@JoshuaTXI Don't listen to him; if he hasn't made any points or examples or even a video on his own analysis, then he is just hating. The video gives a whole new POV this video by far the best analysis i seen on a telltale game
This video needs more views, thank you for making this video 🫶
