Even when that Tsukuyomi close to the end during the first catwalk fell it looked so fucking graceful i would add 20 points to brilliant accidental execution.
Some of these are pretty well done, the ones I liked the most is the Yaefami set that that drk was using, obviously the drg armor too was slick as hell, and the Yshtola cosplayer, the fem Omega too was pretty cool
it's very interesting that there are significantly more female cosplayers in the Japan fanfest compared to the Paris fanfest or any other ones I've seen. I wonder why, are Japanese men shy?
I believe it’s because most are wanting to take pics instead. Lol You see it a lot at cosplay events and cons over there. Majority of the men are the photographers. Obviously some will cosplay, but it’s definitely majority female that cosplay.
There isn't much business for males in the cosplay industry that's why. Majority of the top cosplayers are professionals. There are male cosplayers, but since there isn't much of a career path for males, most just stick to casual cosplay as a hobby.
In other countries, there's more men cosplaying female characters. Some of the cosplays were passable in some extent, though they can look a bit funny.
the devs and mods are chosen to parade in these outfits as a humiliating punishment for poor performance. some will volunteer themselves as a sacrifice to spare their colleagues the embarrassment.
Ah I also commented about this a few years ago and got a lot of shit for it- I don’t think she meant any harm by it and generally the Japanese culture surrounding black face has been pretty light hearted (as in they don’t necessarily do it to be racist but it can still be demeaning) I don’t think it’s too big on issue either way but it’s still definitely something to think about. It’s nice that she was/is appreciating some of the only darker skinned races in game.
These are cosplayers who have to catwalk around a small stage to take photos at different views It's not easy, especially in front of tons of people it's why models get paid alot, because cat walking like that is actually nervwrecking
Most costumes are self made with all sorts of materials just to make it similar to what it is. Some parts may be cloth, some parts may be foam, some may be others. Cosplay costumes aren’t like shirt and pants that were made to do their daily activities with comfort. Their weight may be unbalanced and their props may fall out any moment. And some shoes are not modified from proper shoes but are all self made from foam and cloth and etc.
I noticed. Japan has very different views on race than Americans do because the differing socio-political history. You'll see a lot of racist monikers in Japanese media, even modern series. Not excusing it, mind you, but it isn't seen as much of an issue there as it is elsewhere.
The thing is, shes cosplaying as a character and not intentionally patronizing anyone. It mostly comes down to the misconception of assumption as nowadays everyone is either offended or uncomfortable which shouldn't be an issue. Japan doesn't have a history of blackface (which was used to demean black people) as America does.
@@SeIfmadeEndboss Well many peoples have been brainwashed by SJW and victim culture in general. So everything is an outrage to garner moral highground points.

lol, the Ananta are supposed to be Indian, so the concept was always kinda problematic. Stormblood felt like Japanese appropriating their own culture, at least nobody had chopsticks in their hair.
I think this is partially because most cosplay in Japan is not expected to walk long distances, unlike in western conventions. They don't allow cosplayers to wander events like Tokyo Game Show and all. Instead, they shunt them all to a specific area for a certain number of hours. Cosplayers have to always bring the full costume and change at the event- they can't go to it in costume. So many of them aren't made for easy walking. All they need to do is just stand in a specific area for a specific length of time. Best part is look at their footwear. They mostly choose footwear specifically for the affect it has on the costume when posed, not for when they're walking, because they just aren't walking those distances in those shoes.
Try to be in a costume especially those armor types or those with multiple weird props on their costumes. These aren’t simple cloths or pants. Nor their shoes are made for walking comfort
Wow, rude. This isn't some kind of glitzy fashion show in New York. It was a cosplay contest for fans. There were no stringent codes on how to catwalk on the stage, nor were they professional models. They were there to show the costumes they painstakingly made and maybe do a few poses of the character they're representing. Quit being a judgmental bitch.
I dont see why it should be a bad thing. She is doing a character she loves and therefore tries to make it as similar as posible. f you are trying to pull it over to being blackface then you are completely wrong, she is not making fun of it in any way, she is using it in a positive matter with no negative meaning. Tons of cosplayers outside of japan tape their eyes to make them look asian but they do it to look similar to something they like. It doesent weigh up.
