This was a fun ike! Cool truck
Andre deserves a raise, always out there working but you can tell he loves it!
Agreed - the dude is a huge part of the soul behind TFL. Love his attitude.
Andre! The real truck guy!
Authentic and enthusiastic as a summer day is long.

Great idea! and use that money to fix his lisp problem ASAP.. its effing annyoing
He had fun accelerating I felt it
Andre is like a child on Christmas Eve when it comes to these trucks :-D

You know it’s the right truck when even maxed out it still gives you a giggle on acceleration.
@@mattc1219 I mean... when you’re pulling 5K with 700 hp I’d hope it still moves.

2021 TRX: 1 brake application

Faster 0-60 a s quarter mile, faster top speed

Following TFLTRUCK'S point system, the THE NEW KING HAS ARRIVED!
So based off the data you provided.... it’s better because it brakes less downhill? More squat, same time up IKE, same MPG, same noise...

@Scott Golimowski the trailer is 5000 plus a 2k dirt bike, did u even watch the video? Wtf

@@richardbruler1419 Well my friend. Consumers report states that a Ram is now #1 for reliability. Yup in case ya didn’t hear me #1. Ford 2nd and GM one of the worse. So Ram has come along way and improved dramatically. Sorry to burst your bubble. 👍😀
@@richardbruler1419 You have to remember you can't take a Uhaul with you to your grave🤷♂️
@@ramrider1453 The reason for that is because they use Aisin transmissions now. That was the one fault with them before.
Have we really gotten to the point that a UTV costs $30k? That’s absurd.
Then you have to accessorize it!
Plus trailer, insurance and registration. Lol.
And they are only legal on OHV trails or private property. Colorado does not allow them on the roads.
It seems absurd at first until you learn why they do, think about it the level of performance you get out of the vehicle you would have to pay the same amount or more to make a truck or Jeep half as capable as one of those things and they still wouldn’t be nearly as good all around. You have to pay for better performance no matter what you do, if you look at it in that respect they are actually really cheap, there really is no other vehicle that offers so much capability in so many places
@@flyingsavage8522 I'm amazed at the abuse they can take. They get driven through some pretty rough stuff and just keep going.
When Mr. Smirnoff, a 6’2” Russian guy, giggles like a school girl as he drives a vehicle you know it’s gonna be good! 😂
Such a thing was probably inconceivable in their youths.
I know it was merely impossible in mine.
Or the sub 5 MPG
Y’all have a great line up in the garage! I usually tie down my SXS from the lowest part of the suspension, ie; a arms. That way when you hit a bump it doesn’t snatch the straps.
Another great video Andre! Thanks for the time you put in! I'm not surprised the TRX did well its a built truck with tons of power and since suspension is a component in limiting tow capacity thats the only thing limiting its tow capabilities not lack of power. Quick question, so the TRX had a spare tire mounted in the ned which you moved it appeared there was also a spare under the truck? Two spares or did you get an extra?
Great truck. Have to say, I'm super impressed. With the Truck and the channel. 👍
yes! been waiting for this one! results were pretty much what you would expect given that massive power plant and only the 1 brake application was nice to see..
Great sound! Interesting facts. Useful information. Good test. Impressive new camera angles. Thanks TFL!
This was fun to watch. Thanks for letting me live vicariously
It stayed consistent and maintain the speed amazingly, can’t wait for the 5.2 powered rumored raptor and GM Silverado which is said to be powered by a supposedly rumored test engine that will be 6.2l and supercharged and only meant for that said vehicle, can’t wait for the muscle truck wars again

@@brightymcbrightface I agree, there’s no denying that Andre puts in work
Let's be real though, you're not really going to use the TRX for towing. You're mainly going to use it for fun and the badass road presence it gives you lol
Exactly why I want one and would use it.
Why wouldn't you use it for towing...its a truck. I've had nice and fast trucks and always towed with them.
@@BullittKid08 The truck is well capable of doing so and I'm aware it's a truck but for me at least I wouldn't like putting the extra wear on the vehicle. It's a performance vehicle not a tow rig in my eyes and I would treat it as such. The most I would ever tow if anything would be a JetSki or two. That is just me though.
And your not going to be jumping it . Ram just make a street version
Did you see what was towed? Seemed like a realistic use to me and one people would be interested in.
Great review for those of us considering the TRX.
Time to start doing Ike and Super Ike gauntlet on tuned vehicles. Test stock then test with tuned/deleted or Banks Derringer or Calibrated Power Emissions intact tuning.
Also properly deleted diesels
I’d like to see a heavier trailer with a load leveling hitch. Awesome video though keep them coming!
Andre is my favorite. Love the others but I find myself really looking forward to his videos. 👍😊
dang TFL bids something very innovative from you guys
Might be the greatest truck to ever come out 😍
Except that is Fiat Chrysler, so no.
If you don't use it as a truck
If I could afford the TRX I could afford to not care about the lack of payload/towing in it
What you said
Interesting take. So you believe with that kind of price point, you feel you'd have enough for another truck should you need actual truck payload or towing?
@@ALMX5DP yes. But mostly if I’m buying the TRX I’m not looking for the towing numbers. If I wanted that AND some TRX attributes I’d do something like their Super Tremor. That truck is sweet. Then I’d throw Procharger on it for 675 horsepower
@@tigerandtap2744 ah, to me that seems like not necessarily related to affordability at all, rather just what one intends to use the vehicle for.

Excellent review!
Andre, best Man in this 7 Channel TFL Job, thumbs up and thank you Andre.
Awesome truck, just a tip for tying down vehicles in the future. You should tie down as close to the wheels as you can. In your case inside the lower control arms would be best with what you are using.
This eliminates the chances that your straps come loose and or chaff the paint because your UTV can no longer bounce with suspension flex.
I love TFL videos 🖤💖
Most awesome Ike Gauntlet test with that TRX 🔥
Great content thank you for sharing the most important measurement is the front axle needs to be 1" of the unhooked height when loaded.
Where’s Mr. Truck for Ike Gauntlet tests!!!!!
Mr Truck would have been over the payload. Andre had to leave him behind.
that would've put them over the payload limit ... the poor TRX is not particularly capable ;-)
@James M any particular reason you felt the need to comment this?
Anonymous SCB did he?
@James M I sincerely hope not!
Throw that engine in the HD trucks! Imagine the tough choice between a Cummins and a Hellcat engine lol.
If i were to get an HD gasser, I'd stick with the naturally aspirated low compression work motor, not a hotrod engine (that is if you intend to use it for continuous heavy duty tasks).
Man these trucks look so good. I want one!
So exciting - The Ike Gauntlet. Love to see the trucks performance on the Ike...
The motor and transmission can handle the weight pretty well. It’s the off-road setup that kills the truck’s payload and towing capacity
Help me understand what kind of off roading towing would there generally be? I have been watching MORR and weight is a big factor in the sand and wheel base is a big factor off road in the rocks. A lot of talk about having the best "capable" but in reality a lot goes into the ability of the sport driver. Perhaps this comment is off topic.
That low towing capacity isn't because it can't move it or stop it, it's because the driveline would twist up like a bread tie 😂
What a truck! Loaded with tons of incredible tech, luxurious and powerful, beautiful and huge! A monster thirsty for adventure and fuel!
Thats a dream setup! Trx pulling your side by side
How did it feel hitting bumps? That's what I'd be more curious about-- how that specialized suspension feels in terms of stability. It's obviously got the power! Maybe y'all should consider adding this as part of your test? I'd love to see a towing *handling* test that incorporates trailer sway and truck bouncing.
I will never be able to afford this truck, but damn I love it.
There are always things like that in our lives...You will be able to rent it in Turo, just like anything else
Never say never. 5 years ago i use to say the same about brand new RAM REBEL. This year i was able to buy a 70k brand new Rebel without selling my house. lol.
Same payload as a Ford Focus!
Awesome truck, great video, keep up the great work.
I just love love love the TRex! Go Ram! Way to knock it out of the park! Coming from a Chevy fan who drives a second gen six seven 2016 KR dually...
Awesome. Can we hope for that engine in an HD?
Awesome! Massive link suspension like a trophy truck. None of that cheap leaf spring stuff.
Another great TRX AD as usual!!!
Wow I'm really impressed with how it did and If I could I'd buy one today
Payload numbers are decided by lawyers. This truck could definitely tow more with ease. Either way that was super informative and super impressive. Can't wait for the other TRX vids!
Towing maybe, payload is definitely limited by the spring rate.
Its transmission probably wouldn't like towing more though, I suspect the lower towing and payload has as much to do with keeping the powertrain from exploding as it does with the suspension
@@jmanlinc Isnt that same transmission in the other Ram models rated for much more weight?
@@ALMX5DP not with 700hp though, even in superduty trucks they lower hp when the tow capacity is increased, thats why f450's usually have less than f350
@@jmanlinc you're thinking of commercial grade vehicles (with dyno certified engines and chassis'), which have different design parameters for their duty cycle but also have to meet different emissions regulations.
You guys do a great job, thank you.
Well done Andre!!
If I could afford a TRX, which I can’t, 1st I wouldn’t care about poor fuel economy 2nd it would be just fine to have to make 2 or 3 trips, more reasons to drive this crazy beast!!! One thing I hate is for a while I’ll wonder if every lowly Rebel is a mighty TRX coming up on me, just put the price you paid in white numbers across the hood, we’ll know it’s the Lamborghini if trucks!
TFL Truck is freaking amazing! :-)

Oh yea baby! Ike! Ike! Ike! I feel like I’m campaigning for the President. 😂☘️
Great video, and I am not surprised at the results; given the incredible HP of the TRX. I thought you may have used a weight distribution hitch as you were at max load.
The approx. 5,000 lbs did not require a weight distribution hitch. The truck still had suspension travel.
Loved this. Love that engine. Put it in a 3500 Dually haha. Ultimate work truck

What a Beast Awesome video 😎👍
It would be so great to be able to get an order sheet at the dealership with the ability to order the single cab, work truck version with painted steel wheels, rubber floor, vinyl seats and that engine....

It’s was interesting to go back and see the Raptor and Rebel Ike test. And the Raptor with 2 guys in the truck and towing 7000 lbs box trailer and it got 4.7 mpgs also and a time of 7:56 up the Ike test with 3 brakes applications.
Be interesting to see the same load in the raptor. It pulled a cargo trailer with more weight in nearly the same time. Way more wind resistance with a cargo trailer.
hey TFL, given the growing international audience of this channel, think you could put in metric conversions as an overlay? thanks!
What a great truck. The price tag is the problem. For that price you could have a Ram 3500 if you plan on towing.
A 3500 ram is slow and heavy and sucks offroad though
no If you need to offroad and tow you need to compromise and go with the POWERWAGON!!
Obviously it’s going to pull good going up the mountain. I don’t think any of us thought it wouldn’t. It’s just that the suspension can’t handle any REAL weight. They should do it again, double the weight and see if their shocks are still working. What would be cool is if it had some kind of airbag system that is only used for towing. That way it could override the trick off-road shocks and be able to haul more weight.
Should buy the wheel straps for those side by sides for hauling them.Way more secure and holds them firmly in place compared to frame straps that allow it to bounce around.
I want to start a youtube channel , making bread fast , I could do what these guys do , the hell with laboring and using my back lol
“Super Ike” while hauling the same weight as the Acura MDX you spied? Yes, this is without question a one trick pony. A kickass one trick pony, though.
Yep and if you have three heavy friends with you, forget towing or putting anything in the box lol

@@JonBecker81 Air bags would be perfect. Not sure if they could be fitted to this set up or not.
@@johntyson yeah that would be tricky. Especially since you would have them in addition to the bilsteins, not replacing them. They would just be deflated until you wanted to haul something heavy and or tow something.
Wow and all in one truck!! Sad part is most people will never get to experience one of those beauties.
Just to mention , i just discovered that all the hemi engines like in ram , dodge , jeep can only show lowest mpg 4.7
Anything lower then that it will keep showing 4.7 mpg maybe its setup like that.
So in the comparison its not fair with other vehicles when you compare mpg

I really like your videos , keep it up 👍🏻
Love the 4.7 MPG lol
It's the lowest mpg the dash will show on any Fiat fca vehicle so it was likely much lower. They don't know this..
Amazing ... amazing ... amazing 👌☝️👍💪🙌🤘😎.
I sincerely hope that FCA steers all Rams in the same direction, as far as interior layout. I would love to see gear selector handles in all Rams (even though I'm one of the few men that isn't bothered by the knob) and paddle shifters rather than the buttons on the side of the steering wheel that don't really work.
While the elevation isn't as high, the smasher hill on the coq hwy in BC is 12% grade. They're constantly patching the road surface due to all the engine fires in the slow lane.
That’s super impressive but with a trailer loaded like that you can’t take advantage of the crew cab... the bike weights about an average man (200lbs) so with that trailer you could only have one passenger... definitely not what I was thinking.... amazing 🤩 truck though!!!!
Ah those payload numbers are a joke u could put 4 grown adults in that cab and still be fine.. the frame of that truck remember was built to go off jumps and Baja the pounding that can take is unreal

The suspension is so soft that it squats too much and is too close to hitting its bump stops when going over uneven roads.
