Meanwhile in RPG's "archers don't use strength"
That's lovely bow there🥰
Bro literally did the "tell me you like big bows without telling me you like big bows". And he also said "I like big bows and i cannot lie"
❤😂
Please be aware that we still love your spear videos along with your archery videos
This is a spear
@@dingdong4156 lol
before u get mad at him for using carbon arrows, remember that many archery ranges ban broadheads or blunts and there are no commercial field points for 1/2 inch wood shafts
Good point
Some ban “homemade” arrows
Also when shooting lot its easier, and cheaper to get modern arrows. I feel wooden arrows tend to also get damaged more, but especially for war bow poundage arrows tend to be quite expensive if they are historically correct. Like he said himself in the video its lot cheaper to use these arrows, and he uses the bow mainly to build up strenght so who cares what arrows he uses
Can’t taper it down either
Mark stretton Guiness record is 200lb@30 so roughly 180@28 so you are getting there
Mental health is a serious issue folks! Playing sports can relieve stress especially stuff u like
I tested it here and say that a harder and heavier bow only increases the arrow range if the archer is able to increase the draw on the heavy bow. Your videos are the best because they reflect the reality of archery.
Brilliant video! Thank you for preparing and presenting it.
Always fun to watch some war bowing.
Remember reading some ancient war archers would carry up to 5 bows with them, and would usually have some heavy wood longbows for training or maybe hunting when you don't want to risk damaging a nice composite bow
I think there is something really cool about being able to draw really heavy bows that appeals to me more than accuracy shooting.
Sometimes a wonder what the hard limit really is, as in if strong man competitions had an archery category would we have seen people drawing 500 pound bows?
Strongman pulling super bows might get the ATF involved lol but im all seriesness that sounds like a neat comp/idea in general
I think I saw that bow for sale on email. I note Archery Bowman currently has a 190ib at 28 inches for sale!!!
Sale? It’s like 800 bucks
Good for you, you have a gift for power. You should always aim for Guinness, your competition would be Joe Gibbs but if i was you i would do this with Imperial Chinese Warbows.
Thanks a lot! Chinese world record is 240lb on paper. Let me try to get 200 first lol
so 185@32 thats monsta
Yes, it's always that forearm
Meanwhile me - being able to pull about 85 pounds - is suddenly feeling weak like a beta archer. 😂 Thanks alpha Jack! 🤣
No no Im just trained in a very niche sport
I can never seem to get my technique right.
damn dude, still a beast
80 inch string length? OMG
Yeah forgot the curvature length just the string length
I think 200 spine is not enough for these but like u said they are cheap arrows to training
Training bows for weight lifting...are you going to work your way up to the 240 lb draw weight strength training bows of the Qing Dynasty? :D
200lb
@@HistoricalWeaponsdid you see the same bow that is the Chinese made all fiberglass English Longbow is max of 120 pounds now?
@@caseysmith544 yeah I made a RUclips shorts
@@caseysmith544 it’s the pink one
Pulling big bows is niche cool.
Shooting big bows with accuracy is badass. I'm not going chasing Joe Gibbs.
80--82 inches is about as long as an English Longbow gets in historical sense so the bow is not oversized, maybe for Flat Limb Longbow/ASL style but not for English Longbow.
80 for string length. Is your number along the curve
@@HistoricalWeapons So then an 83--84 inch bow, understandable if the Hickory has to be longer to get the heavy war weights of this bow.
i appreciate not using the @32 for the youtube title like what you used to do because your not pulling 32
i mean 150lb is no joke either. i think theres only 10 people on this planet that has done it today
@@busurbusur2381 Yeah 150lb is no joke. Maybe a bit more than 10 ppl that can do it these days as Warbow archery has become more popular in recent years.
185Lbs though? I only know 4 people that can pull that weight.
Mark Stretton, Joe Gibbs, Jack Fang (in the video I think can do it once), and Dash Render AKA "Garnish and Gains" (Popular TikTok Warbow archer).
Machines.
@@thefatefulforce8887pretty sure all bodybuilders can
@@zhangtony3372 Opening a bow requires technique as well as strength.
To open a very heavy bow you need to train a heavy bow.
It's a specific muscle movement with a specific technique.
Yes, bodybuilders and "strong men" will transition into opening very Heavy bows (150+) fairly quickly with the correct training. Faster than normal people. Of course, strength matters.
But "All bodybuilders" are not opening a 150lb without specific heavy bow training.
@@zhangtony3372 Lol, that's a good one.
id sleep with it at night
bruh
Man that arrow oscillates and it’s 200 spine !!! How do u get 50 spine 😊
Just cut a tree...
Lmao and he puts salt inside must shake it good
As far as using bows as spears goes, some of the best Native archers in the land now claimed as the southeastern United States used their bows as staves/clubs according to Garcilaso de la Vega. In one case, blows from multiple archers with bows used as bludgeons break a Spaniard's shield & leave him badly injured. In another, blows from a bow turned club to a helmeted head cause pain & draw blood but fail to incapacitate. The Spaniard in question responds with a fatal sword thrust.
This specific warbow can keel with blunt trama
I'm still getting to grips with my little bow , its only 38@28 but I use it good .as the saying goes.
Use what you are comfortable with and I’m certainly not using this bow for target shooting
Have fun for whatever reason you want. Some think yew is faster at the same draw weights but hickory holds its draw weight longer (compresses less/slower) and is more durable (less likely to ding/crack). The less you use it the longer it will last; unstring as soon as you're done shooting/training.
I offered an 'archery experience' at a friends BBQ. Had a couple of folk have a go on a 22Ib longbow. One chap (Dave) wanted to try a more powerful bow, so I gave him a go on a 40Ib longbow. he shot that bow like he had been shooting for years. I then let him draw a 80lb (after advising him on heavy bow technique). No problem - he drew that bow effortlessly. The only other bow I had with me was a 110lb longbow. He drew that too, full draw and could hold it. I reckon he could have been loosing arrows from that bow with a couple of hours tuition. Her had never picked a bow before! The guy did regular gym sessions and a a physical job. He also lived on the Welsh borders - I think it was in his DNA!
artillery size repeating crossbow coming
How do you string that thing lol?
Two people
for cuddles
😂
hi
Not quite world record yet. You need 70-80 more pounds. How is that goal working out for you?
He didn’t mention he wants to break world record
Ahhh new bow.....😊😊😊😊
take care of you Sir, it's really heavy! nice video to watch
That’s a serious “weight lifting bow”.
Hi jack.
Since you are shooting such a draw weight with 200 spine arrows, do you think 300 spine is OK for 80 pounds at 35-36 inches? Also what is your experience with plastic nocks and warbows, what is the maximum draw weight when they are safe in your opinion? Especially something like M or K nocks from Vermil (they seem pretty sturdy to me).
This is already very underspined but I think ur spec is fine but these arrows are not 36 long they are 33 max option
Honest curious question Jack, is it correct form to bend forward and arch the back, in order to shoot a high pound longbow? Joe Gibbs do it too.
Considering he is the world record I’d say yes. I’m not a medical doctor to know the biomechanic implications
@@HistoricalWeaponsall right, thanks for answering. 👍
Aku approves of this bow.
Hickory war bow? How much set has that bow taken? I would love to see it unstrung.
I hope he tries out Hickory style native american flatbows in the future
I made a maple flat bow of algonquin
@@HistoricalWeapons My apologies. id really love to see a side by side comparison of Commanche horse archery to Mongolian horse archery. Considering the commanche used it to deadly effect against the spainards and they were universally feared. They used short longbows to the mongolians composite bows
Have you ever gotten a bow from bowyer nico hogenes? He’s from the Netherlands
Yes
'maybe you'll sleep with it at night'. That's exactly what I would do if I bought one like this. But will be getting my 45# from this seller soon.
150@28 is much harder than 150@32
@ that RANGE you do not need fletching
@ the OTHER end of the RANGE you do not need fletching either....
vanes or feathers
do what makes your wallet and your mate happy
Just curious, since yew trees were known to grow in the Caucasus region and northern Iran, is it possible that yew self bows were used by the Medes, Persians, anatolian peoples, etc?
Wow, 150lb👏👏👏
More structural analysis plz
Question: what are you using for finger protection? It looks like some sort of leather rings. Much less fuss than a glove or tab, plus your fingers are not cut off with such a heavy pull....
It’s just a lot of tape it’s cheap and I already loss nerves there
NICE
For orca
I have slept with my yew bows at night Jack. It's been awhile, how are you doing?
Your funny bro ! 🤣
How can Hickory manage this serious ammount of compression force? I wonder
By overdesign the bow to the point that it’s inefficient. A hickory 2x4 can withstand many men standing on it for example
😂 Sometimes i carry my bows to my bed indeed, they are the best lovers for surr❤😅
Couldn't you use Canadian Yew?
I think the massive length of these bows makes them extremely inefficient. If you could somehow make a much shorter bow and still have the same draw length and weight, it would absolutely blow that thing away. The draw weight sounds big and scary but with the length, it isn’t being stressed as hard and is having to throw all that extra limb around to propel the arrow. So I think the power these things put out is extremely underwhelming compared to what people think they do.
Exactly I agree hence yew is a better choice cuz it’s lighter but if you want the fast stuff it’s composite
So with 6.5 GPP, is it safe for the bow, or wooden longbow in general? I've heard 8 gpp is the minimum. I bought a 115# from ArcheyBowman.
This one overbuilt. I recommend 8gpp for his standard bows
❤
The 50bmg of archery
It's long enough to be a sort spear :O
I would love to buy one of these, you must be selling them
Hmmmmm… okay. Well shit. I’ll get a 55-60 draw and start practicing with that
