The frontal cortex is the part of the brain responsible for logical reasoning. When we are dreaming it is mostly turned off, which allows us to believe our dreams are real until we wake up. I think it definitely makes sense that genjustu affects this part of the brain - essentially putting you into a waking dream made entirely from the casters imagination

There's a third type of genjutsu he didn't mention; mind control. Kakashi first uses the smallest form of this against zabuza by using a genjutsu to subtly suggest his next move for him and he would copy them and even speak before zabuza could think about it. the two top forms are kotoamatsukami and izanami bot are basically full on mind control. we later see this evolve into how sasuke interrogate people with his sharingan.

One of those things could be that there are some Hyuuga that are really good at casting genjustu by touch. Their dojutsu can make user easily see chakra networks.
So here's a strategy: Use gentle fist to shut down some tenketsu, then use some other technique to inject chakra specifically for casting the genjustu much more effectively than most long range genjutsu.

      Genjutsu to Counter Ranged Fighters
      ----------
Hyugas get hard countered by ranged fighters, but if could use genjutsu to incapacitate them, they can buy themselves some time to close the gap.
      Becoming Snipers
      ------------
Since Hyugas can see several kilometers away in all directions, they should be able to hit anyone from any relevant distance if they had any form of ranged attack- which they actually do. Hinata also invented a ranged water style jutsu in a filler arc from OG Naruto. More Hyugas should go that route so they their range isn't a big weakness.
      Chidori
      -------------
Chidori gives you tunnel vision because normal human perception isn't good enough to see well at that speed. If Hyuga can see in all directions at the same time, the Byakugan should stop the tunnel vision just like the Sharingan.
      Genjutsu Range
      ---------------
Not only can Hyugas see hundreds of meters away, but they can do so in basically every direction and even see through most obstacles like walls and trees, meaning they can technically make "eye contact" with anything and everything around them at the same time at any relevant distance. So, Hyuga's should be able to hit you with an occular genjutsu from... anywhere. Just looking in a Hyuga's direction is all they need to hit you with a genjutsu.
      Genjutsu Counter
      ------------------
Hyugas can see everyone's chakra network, including their own, so they should be able to see if someone is under genjutsu, including themselves, and break out by disrupting their own chakra network since they can shoot chakra out of their tenketsu.

@@frescobar1839 byakugan doesn’t increase perception/ reaction so it wouldn’t do much good for the chidori. Just because you can see everywhere doesn’t mean that the feed back is increased like with the sharingan.
The byakugan does have its advantages and flaws when it has to do with genjutsu. Fantastic for seeing chakra flow however there is a genjutsu made to trick those who are perceiving chakra flow, to see several networks around them. It was during the war that a user was tricked hard to find. And the reason byakugan users aren’t remote sniping with genjutsu because it probably isn’t “direct eye contact” the person attacked by them aren’t looking at the origin source of the genjutsu. By your logic which I’m not saying is wrong, if a byakugan user had per say inos ability they would be able to find and control anyone anywhere, which is probably not that case cuz that’s basically Dan’s (tsunades boyfriend) ability.

Part of what may have made genjutsu less prevalent, is how by the end of the series Naruto, Sasuke, Sakura, Kakashi, the reanimated Hokages, Kabuto, Madara and Obito were all at a point where genjutsu was simply a waste of time against them for one reason or another. That said, the Izanami genjutsu did play a major role in defeating Kabuto so that could be viewed as its last hurrah.

@@oghaze9318 Danzo was perfectly capable of breaking out of Sasuke’s genjutsu, as he demonstrated when he dispelled the genjutsu that was showing him Itachi. But that was a test by Sasuke to see if he could put him under genjutsu at all- once he knew he could technically do it, he used a much more subtle genjutsu that made Danzo think that the last eye on his hand was still open. The genjutsu worked because it matched the reality Danzo wanted and was believable, so he never doubted it until it had accomplished its purpose of making him willingly take a massive injury. He could’ve dispelled it at any time, but he didn’t realize it was affecting him.
That said, Obito was watching the fight from an outside perspective and he knew the genjutsu was there- he mentioned it specifically and bragged about the Sharingan. So a third party can still identify genjutsu on someone else and free them. This is what makes Naruto so resistant, Kurama would notice any such disruption of Naruto’s chakra and would deal with it.

    • @TheCrazyCapMaster
      @TheCrazyCapMaster Год назад

@@shawn092182 it’s been fairly well-established that genjutsu isn’t effective against Otsutsuki… not that they can’t be placed under it theoretically, just that there are far too many issues:
      1. Genjutsu is chakra-based, so it can be absorbed and would be the first time the Otsutsuki tried to absorb anything.
      2. Otsutsuki usually have both Byakugan and Rinnegan available to them. The moment they power up their Byakugan for battle, they’ll instantly notice any issues with their chakra or with that of anyone around them. Note that we’ve never once seen a Byakugan user under any genjutsu weaker than Infinite Tsukuyomi. Being able to see the genjutsu’s existence makes breaking it trivial for beings who can wield the power of entire worlds without breaking a sweat. You will lose that chakra tug-of-war, even if you somehow overpowered their chakra enough to activate a genjutsu on them in the first place.
      3. Again, you need to be able to overcome your opponent’s chakra to put them under genjutsu at all, and you need to be able to catch them in it. When you’ve got an opponent with the power of worlds at their fingertips, who can move and react at easily lightspeed, it’s pretty hard to perform genjutsu even if your own speeds are comparable.
Actually here’s a fun point: since Byakugan users can see other people’s chakra networks and train for extremely precise chakra control, they should actually be able to perform impressive genjutsu themselves since they can see exactly where to send their chakra into their opponent.

My head cannon for why they used less genjustu as the series went on; is that as ninjas become more elite the effectiveness of genjustu diminish, outside of S tier jutstus like tsukiyomi. So basically as the series progressed we saw more and more S tier enemies, where genjustu just wouldn't work on. So the big scale genjustus were out of the question. But small scale, like Sasuke changing the amount of eyes on danzos arm, are the most effective against S ranked ninjas.
But B and A rank ninjas woukd be more suspectable to genjustus.

I feel with Dedara, his little device is as simple as a color blind person's eyes. I bet it's something as simple as he's gotten used to using one eye to see normally and then using the device on his other eye to see through a myriad of spectrums. It probably can simply put a certain lens with a hue filter over his vision that without prior knowledge to said device's functions you wouldn't be able to accurately recreate. Or on an even grander note it can constantly cycle through hues and spectrums that would be almost impossible for anyone to ever recreate properly without training with a similar or identical device. Might even be able to be filled with just enough Chakra that when/if it detects his eye not dilating in the normal/typical fashion it sends a shock to his ocular network that breaks him out.

If Hyuga's can see 359 degrees around them, that means they are technically making eye "contact" with everything around them at the same time, right? Since the Byakugan can see in all directions and can extend the range of your eyesight up to several kilometers, Hyuga can technically use occular genjutsu without "direct" eye contact from any direction at any relevant distance. If a Hyuga member is on a team and they spot some enemies hundreds of meters ahead, why not cast a genjutsu to incapacitate them so they won't be a problem going forward?

this could be because doing so without knowing if your targets are proefficient in dealing with it trying ot impose yoursel in their perception and failing will give away that an enemy is in the area.
maybe the more subtle ones would work but those require that you know what's up in their context so your change is believable.

Question NICK! Why do otsutsuki and humans before hagoromo not have chakra? They have physical and spritual energy and are all knowledgable on using said energy (Otsutsuki) so why cant they mix spiritual and physical to get chakra? And how does a fruit full of basically souls give you chakra? Does that mean nothing has a soul until they recieve one through fruit or a weird old alien? Also does that mean sage mode is just your own physical/spititual and then natures physical and spiritual? Sooo many questions there
