I hope that Vince is surrounded by loved ones and friends at the moment, after the terribly sad recent passing of his Wife. He's been an inspiration to me since childhood. 💓
100%
❤
He's so down to earth yet an absolute music legend. Bless you Vince.
Considering how talented, and what he's done for electronic music, he's so modest and humble.
My sincerest condolences to Vince and familiy.
I am a massive fan of Vince since the early Depeche Mode days. Spreak & Spell is my favorite album. He also did a wonderful job with Andy in Erasure!
Vince and Andy - I have to say THE best duo of my generation in my humble opinion. All the very best to you both, and long may you continue to perform and entertain us.
Great song writer and synth legend. Thanks for the music.
Such a terrible time for Vince and his family, my condolences to all his family and the terrible loss of his Wife, R.I.P. Tracy Hurley-Martin
Blue Savannah is a wonderful song
Listen to their self titled album Erasure it's one of the most beautiful albums ever made and erasure at their very best x
All the great 80s bands and records =vince Clarke
This man only needed a syntethizer to make a worldwide hit. Founding a successful band it's already quite a challenge but this man gave birth to THREE of the most popular synthwave acts in history, nobody else can do that
And probably no one would give him the chance today. :/
plus The Assembly
One of the most important people in the history of proper British Pop music...imagine founding Depeche Mode, The Assembly, Yazoo and Erasure....so humble though that he won't think of it like that...top bloke too.
Thank you for all of your work Vince... your music has helped pick up my life when I needed it. Good memories... Steve thanks for the interview.
Thoughts are with Vince and his family. I would love to hear a reworked version of Loveboat using the Erasure sound we all know.
Thank you both, great stuff
Vince "Legend" Clarke
My deepest sympathies to his Vince and his family during this period of immense loss.
vince always has a lovely smile , Good luck to him
Thank you for this!!!!
Mine and lot of people here’s heroes. So sorry to Vince for the tragic loss in his personal life
Человек - Глыба ❤
❤
Sad news, for me to hear... But great for me, is that You, Vince; seem so untouched, I mean, you've always seemed to be like this...
It would be nice if he rejoined Depeche Mode. Sorry to hear about his wife. Bad things happen to good people.
Steve’s energy and knowledge make him such a great interviewer
Couldn't say This Mortal Coil or name the singer.
@@SamLowryDZ-015 brain farts happen but yeah
He seemed too energetic given Vince's recent loss.
@@ehenyor perhaps but I’m not sure how I would behave meeting my heroes
Where is the playlist?
I really didn't like in style of interviewing question snack question snap question didn't let him get into depth with each question personally that's a terrible way to interview
Vince Clarke is a legend 🎹🔌⚡
Depeche Mode
Yazoo, Erasure 🖤
And all the people he has inspired to create music, including me.... I'll be forever grateful for that.
He is the most talented musician of our time.
@@shafieklevy3175Prince and his fans would disagree.
@@jeshkambore off.
@@custardtart1312 Excuse me, please?
Vince Clarke is definitely one of the Greatest Synthesizer Users on this Planet.
My thoughts are with Vince, Oscar, and Tonya during this incredibly difficult time.
yes
He is one of the best musician from the 80's and 90"s.
Alison Moyet is twice the singer Adele is...
So sad to hear about Vinces Wife passing. He's made a lot of people happy and the pair of them deserved such a better outcome in their later years.
So very true 😢
Great to see Vince but so sad to hear his news, our thoughts are with him. I haven't seen him since the summer of 1976 when he left school to work at the dairy. I stayed on to fail my A levels!
Legend. Gave us Depeche Mode, effectively helping shape electronica for years to come. Best wishes to Vince and his loved ones ❤
And Yazoo, and Erasure. Total legend
You're a great man, Vince Clark. Music is blessed to have you. 👊🏼❤👊🏼
What are humble man Vince Clark is, no pretentions just a fabulous musician and humble person, absolutely unique. Truly one of the greats of pop music along with David Bowie and Brian Eno. And he hails Philip Glass as a genius. This is an absolute top guy.
I was thinking that his instrumental, 91 Steps, may have been influenced by Phillip Glass. The literally odd tine signature of 7/8ths, and the hypnotic overlapping of repeating figures.
A shy man any totally devoid of ego and considering he is a synth genius is quite unusual.
So Sad about his wife. 😔 Hope he is ok
Vince is magnificent.
Sending both you and Oscar all the love in the world Vincent. I lost my partner last July so I know exactly how you are feeling my friend.just look after yourself vince and be there for young Oscar cos he's going to need you so much more than you know now pal. I know it feels like you won't ever get over it and I'd be a liar if I told you you will, but you don't you just learn to live with it, it is different when you lose your life partner as apposed to losing a relative I dunno it just feels much deeper and more personal vince. Just give yourself time and remember the good times you Oscar and Tracy shared and you will learn to smile again in time I absolutely promise you x stay beautiful vince I send you and Oscar and the rest of the family all my heartfelt love mate xx jason
such mind-numbingly boring questions. Poor Vince seems to be even more disinterested in and disillusioned by this circus than usual. and now we know why. the interviewer should've made more effort anyway than asking Smash Hits stuff when meeting a sensitive genius. I guess it will take Vince a long time to return, what a difficult time
Poor interviewer…several times he asks a question and Vince has just told him relevant information 10 seconds beforehand…he either doesn’t listen or is nervous and sticks to a question list regardless and is unable to elaborate.
His remix of Happy Mondays is the best .
Vince, such a magical man and his amazing music has painted the decades of my life with such pleasure.
An Incredible Man ❤️
Wow, I first heard New Life at the school dinner time club 1981, I was 12/13. Thought wtf is that, that is amazing. Who is this - asked the DJ.....went to see DM at Birmigham last week for the 5th time - 43 years after hearing them for the first I am still besotted. I know VC left the Mode very early but still - Thank you Vince for my love affair with 80's Music.
New life did it for me too! Aged 11
Sorry to hear your sad news Vince God bless 🙏
Blue Savannah and Sometimes are my favorites, absolutely brilliant.
That presenter is so boring, it's like he's reading off a checklist. His upbeat persona doesn’t exactly ring through either.
Vince Clarke is great to hear, an amazing talent and had written so many great songs, groups and collaborations. Brilliant.
I like how Vince started off guarded and slowly warmed to Steve when he realised Steve knew his stuff about Vince's career.
Vince always seems guarded.
We love Vince Clarke, he is a music legend ♡
Gotta love Vince! #LEGEND
A true legend. Thoughts are with you Vince. ❤
Vince has been a musical hero of mine for many many years. Great interview. ive always wanted to sit with Vince and ask him questions and this interview pretty much asks everything I would ask him. Really enjoyed this.
🦇🌹As we all know Vince is great in a group, but his solo work is also phenomenal. He's not afraid to move sonically into uncharted territory.
inVINCEable clark
00:30:13 "SONG TO THE SIREN"
Songwriter: Tim Buckley. Poet: Larry Beckett. Release: "Starsailor" LP (1970-11).
Most popular cover: "This Mortal Coil" (an Ivo Watts-Russell project).
Release: "It'll End in Tears" LP (1984-10-01).
Goldenboy featuring Miss Kittin - Rippin Kittin is a must listen!
Wonderful interviewer and compelling understanding of Vince
Since this was filmed I understand Vince wife has passed away I’m sorry to hear this
He absolutely loves "The" Mortal Coil. He's a bit of a joke, this presenter. Like the LOL uncle trying to prove he's streetwise. Tried to play "Song to the Siren", there is indeed a commercial. For Norwegian beef. Hang loose.
A musical genius and class act. So humble. Love his work and talent. Very gifted and a legend.
In the thumbnail, Vincent looked like that guy with the pitchfork in the American Gothic painting. Uncanny.
Awful questions. Vince looks bored
Synth god alert!!
11:42 Better than Netflix, This is what I am.!!! Respect
Bit of a Blue Peter interview style he has there.
Vince is a legend though. To step back from DM just as they were taking off must have been a tough decision but it shows that Vince was always focused on writing.
Thought he was gay 🤓
Vince Clarke is a real trooper: “I don’t really care for Madonna.”
He doesn’t write jingles for 14 yr olds.. he writes life experiences
Thank you Steve for these excellent interviews. I watched the Pete Waterman and Phil Harding vids recently and they were very interesting. You have a great voice also!
Depeche Mode turned down Only You. Daniel Miller turned down Only You. One wonders how it would've went for Vince had those record publishers not been around.
My deepest condolences to vince and family so sorry to hear what happened you are truly loved by everyone all of the fans. God bless you Vincent
The GOAT. So sad to hear about your loss.
Great interview. We were at the gig too. Fantastic night
The assembly ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I made a tribute CD of my own music and brought it to one of your Erasure live shows in Manchester Vince ... But too scared to throw it up onto the stage for you 😊
Thanks for this great interview 👍 Vince has always been my musical hero, and I got to tell him in person a few years ago ❤ rest in peace tracy 🙏 💔💔
Love love love his music ❤❤❤
Vinc, best wishes ❤from 🤝 🇱🇹 Lithuania
The interviewer is hyper.
What a great interview
WHERE ARE THE SONGS?
@jupiter7627 I'm asking about Vince's choices, which are neither played in this video nor listed underneath.
Gutted for Vince, RIP
Really great interview.
Respect.
Condolences to Vince and his family, very sad.
Vince is not the easiest guy to interview but the interviewer was a bit shite at times... Still a good interview though. The ultimate synth band would be Vince Clarke, Andy McCluskey, Paul Humphreys, Andy Wilder, Vangelis and Karl Bartos :-)
Vince un gran músico y compositor
She sure is.
❤❤❤Vince
Pete Shelley Homosapian ....haven't played that for years. Got the 12" up in the loft somewhere
Only 48k views... Yet Taylor boring Swift gets 2bn.
I was walking on a street in Mountain View, California likely around 2010 and a convertible drove by blaring "Blue Savanah." I'm not a car buy but I was like "Epic song." I was in Quezon City last year an this DJ (hip girl around 30) was playing songs outside TGI Fridays and played "Blue Savanah." I was blown away. I doubt she was born in 1990 when "Blue Savanah" came out. Epic song.
18:30 I could hear Roy Orbison singing Blue Savannah! 🤯
Absolute legend and phenomenal musician - very few could write songs, play keyboards and program hardware quite like Vince. Thanks for so much amazing music. 😍👌
I'd love to hear a dream band of Vince and Alan Wilder collaborating. I wonder if they ever have...
Brilliant interview. Loved the interviewer. And Vince is such a cool
Guy.
Met him four times. Very nice bloke. Down to earth. Very sad about his wife😒💙
Great respectfully interview, thank you for the great music and memories Vince, 80's music will always be relevant ❤❤
Hi too virgin out there ..vince your a talent off a person. Heard so much proud what you have achieved by yourself. Loved the alf album and upstairs at Erics x and my first Album by Earsure wonder land just fantastic Album. Would you ever consider too join Depeche Mode again.?
Mart laughing at that idea.
Dear Vince so sorry, I keep you in my prayers and your family.
I feel vince’s boredom during this interview...SO SORRY TO HEAR ABOUT HIS WIFE....
Vince , that's So funny...my dad's sold things
The interviewer was great in The Big Bang Theory. His American accent seemed so authentic. 😂
