I am so happy to hear that!! Beech are such a great tree to plant, they offer color spring, summer and fall, and are very long-lived with little to no common disease / pest issues in Northern Illinois.
You should do a video on pine trees like gold arborvitae and the Christmas tree white pine and show what the soft serve arborvitae looks like when it grows up if you have them or any recommended pines or evergreens I wanna plant a hedge but a unique one

The Redbud everything I read says it grows starting in zone 6. But you’re zone 5. Since it’s a new introduction do you know for sure it grows in zone 5. Also I can’t find any. Do you think it won’t be available again until next year?
Great question! Carolina Sweetheart Redbud is new to us this year, so we will see how it performs. This cultivar was developed as a collaborative project by NC State University and Star Roses and Plants Nursery. Both our growers and the university that helped breed this cultivar are confident that the Carolina Sweetheart Redbud is hardy up into Zone 4a. plants.ces.ncsu.edu/plants/cercis-canadensis-nccc1/ We have some in stock right now, and hope to continue to carry it each year.
I live in the city. Land is scarce and most home dwellers have garage decks or rooftop decks or in my case both and not much dirt land. So we plant our trees in containers knowing they will die sooner than later. I did the mistake of planting a Red Pointe Maple on my garage deck in a sizeable container and every gardening contractor pleads for me to remove it. But it’s looking beautiful and lush and I can’t do it. Any chance you can load a video on the best trees to plant in containers and how to go about it? Thank you for the wonderful videos. Thanks for the feedback! We will try to incorporate growing zones into our future videos. For reference, all of the plants listed are hardy in at least Zone 5 (Northern Illinois). Some of them may be able to tolerate slightly cooler enviornments, all of them can tolerate atleast a bit warmer than Zone 5
All of the trees showcased in our videos are hardy in the Northern Illinois (Zone 5). Some are hardy up into Zone 4, and most are hardy down into Zones 7-9. It is best to double check with your local garden center to make sure a plant will survive in your climate. Plant survival in different climates is not solely based on hardiness zones. For example, there are many plants that are Zone 5 hardy, which we do not carry nor recommend, due to their intolerance of our soil profile in St. Charles, IL (and surrounding areas).
I have a view of a park in the front of my house. The leaves are red like a forest pansy but the flowers are a very very pale pink color. I have no clue what it is.
