      Two decades later I actually enjoy hearing what the younger generation thought of the prequels at the time not really grasping that the betrayal had to happen. I walked into episode 3 wondering how we were going to transition into the empire, I thought it was kinda sudden in the theater but now with the clone wars TV show it fits properly. It was still pretty crazy to see everyone murdered and then Anakin burned alive within an hour. Unfortunately the ending with Vader screaming no was laughable, my parents and I laughed which wasn't the intention, but we knew it was gonna happen one way or another.

    The reasons why the Jedi sense it coming was because they sense danger through emotions. The clones weren't acting out of anger so the jedi didn't sense it. The second reason is because the force had been polluted by the dark side, inhibiting the Jedi's abilities. The last reason is because of overwhelming numbers of their own troops. Few Jedi can long hold their own against those odds. Plus the complete unexpected betrayal.

      Yes and no. Genetic alteration did make them more obedient, but that alone didn't make them 100% compliant. A perfect example of this is the Umbara Arc from Clone Wars, where they not only question orders, but go against them.
      Rather, it's the control chip implant they have on their heads. That thing triggers once Order 66 is activated, and it's thanks to that alone that they go into full compliance mode.

    A lot of people don’t know this, but the scene of Anakin crying after all this was him feeling the guilt of what he had just done. He knew what he did, and he hated himself for doing it, but he also believed he was doing the right thing and to save Padmé.
    Also, to the people asking why the Clones betrayed the Jedi so easily is because they had no choice. They were literally programmed using chips(known as Inhibitor Chips) inside of their heads that force them to obey any and all of the Contingency Orders(Order 1-Order 66)given to them.

      @@DarthVoxynThe Clone Legion under Aayla were the 327th Star Corps, essentially think of them as grizzled hardened Marines in Vietnam at the height of the war. Now they had been fighting for months on end due to Felucia being a absolute hell hole of a planet. Now Aayla was a competent General and leader of her troops, however, the Clones knew who Aayla's Master was, Quinlan Vos, an exceptional powerful Jedi who was known for subterfuge, clandestine missions, even appearing to work for the CIS as a spy for the Republic, knowing how powerful and skilled Vos was, Bly and his troops would not take any chances at all with Aayla. So they didn't blast her multiple times out of respect of a quick death, they did so because they were hardened ruthless soldiers, knew their target well.
      At this point Star Wars was still in Lucas's hands and in between Ep2 and 3 you had the Clone Wars graphic novel series, in which both Vos and Aayla briefly fall to the Dark side making them both more exceptional powerful and dangerous. Alas this is no longer canon, but it would give reason why the 327th were so brutal in her execution.
      Hell if you watch the scene back closely and slow it down, the camera pans up, she is still alive and moving on the ground!!
      Master Unduli, Barris Offee's Master had the two worst fates in both Legends and Canon though, first off legends where she is shot down by Clones on Kashyyyk while literally tending to and healing wounded Clones!! Canon wise, she is captured, held prisoner, tortured, eventually starved to death and her dead body and likeness are used by the Empire to draw in any surviving Jedi!! Absolutely horrific!

      I disagree. It cheapens the emotional weight of the betrayal. The clones weren’t an army for the Jedi. They were an army for the “republic”.
      There training on kamino was to follow orders given by the leader of the republic. Guess who the leader was..
      Think of it this way. The clones spent a couple years fighting with the Jedi generals, some competent, some not and based their perspective upon those generals.
      Now when the leader of the republic just sent down order 66 which details that the Jedi have decided to overthrow democracy and betrayed the whole point of the war the clones were fighting.
      In the clones eyes the Jedi were just using them to gain power. The real tragedy of this was it was partially true. The Jedi for all their talk of peaceful resolution and wisdom, uncritically accepted a multimillion strong clone army out of the blue, just because they claimed to be on their side.
      Obi wan questioned it in the second movie but was brushed off by the other members of the Jedi High Council.
      The clones weren’t betraying the Jedi from their perspective. All of this makes the story so much deeper and more compelling.

      @HanselLeiderhosen Год назад +2

      @@cooliostarstache5474 no control or agency necessarily cheapens any action then taken.
      Sure it can be sad from a viewers perspective, but for the clone and Jedi it’s just another “robot” army now.
      The way the movies play it is perfect because it shows the hubris of the Jedi believing they cannot be fooled.
      I find it to be infinitely more interesting that a clone would disobey an order to execute who he is told is a traitor because of the relationship they built. The clones are not meant to feel normal emotions like humans. It’s explicitly stated that they modified their behaviors in the cloning process.
      For a clone to overcome their purpose and to CHOOSE to disregard order 66 is much more impactful.
      The clone wars tv show has poisoned our minds about the clones starting out wanting to befriend the Jedi rather than a military force meant to protect the republic.

    This was likely painful for the Clones too
    Yes, the Clones were made with the inhibitor chips to make sure they followed commands perfectly, but that doesn’t mean the Clones didn’t form bonds to their Jedi Generals
    Hell, Rex tried to fight the inhibitor chip and warn Ahsoka because he did not want to kill her

    I saw ROTJ nine times as a teen. So for my generation, seeing Order 66 on the big screen in 2005 was really powerful, like seeing what we had heard old Obi Wan talk about back in 1977 in A New Hope and never truly understood.
    I was in my thirties when I saw ROTS and I wept during that scene, and when Anakin caught fire on Mustafar. Great film.

    • @Jiub_SN
      @Jiub_SN Год назад +1

      Not true in this movies context, the clones were child soldiers conditioned to follow the orders. It's why in the movies they never seem bvery close to the Jedi, they were never meant to be. The chip thing came from TCW which is where that stupid change and problem came from in the first place, they humanized characters that were designed to be inhuman, same for the droids. TCW has had terrible consequences on the Star Wars fan base

    I prefer pre-Clone Wars explanation, when the clone troopers didn't have a chip or special programming that forced them to carry out order 66. They knew it was coming, and were able to hide it from the Jedi.
    "We all knew what was about to happen, what we were about to do. Did we have any doubts? Any private, traitorous thoughts? Perhaps, but no one said a word. Not on the flight to Coruscant, not when Order 66 came down, and not when we marched into the Jedi Temple. Not a word."

It'd be nice to see some rebelling from the empire or just leaving it behind and faking their deaths to be free of it all. Bunch of Fetts roaming the galaxy.
