There you are at Blue Demon, and I just happened to have bought some of their 55fc flux core hard wire which I am using on some snow blades and snow blowers. Seems to run quite well, all I need to do is adjust the voltage to get a lower profile weld. Mine are a bit ropey now. Most welding videos and review just talk about 6010 and 7018 , but there are so many other rods and wire out there. Most of us don't do pipe so rarely use 6010 so why so much hope on those rods. I would like to do demos on other rods and their usages. Thanks for the video very informative.
Thank you for going here. I am trying to learn the Blue Demmon products as I work. Did a historic restoration of an enamel wood burning cook stove and the Blue Demon product out preformed everything . I have been welding for little over 50 years and still trying to utilize new products and Blue Demon has my attention for the go to product.
I absolutly love kind of talk welding is such a vast spectrum the more knowledge u have the more valuble u become like knowing a pretry fair bit of metallurgy is super beneficial because then you actually understand whats taking place and gives u much better problem solving as well
Bob, some great information here, I now have a better Idea about who Blue Demon is and what their products do... .I always thought they were just some overseas company that sold cheap product, Boy oh boy was I surprised!!!! Respect to BlueDemon and You for a great episode......Cheers, Paul .....aka Paul Boomer from Australia.....
Most interesting, just got some..035 FC Blue Demon to cover my loader bucket and drag box on the wear point's. I didn't realize multi passes were needed to get full effect, thanks. 👍🏻
More actual hardfacing. Actually do those layers you mentioned, and talk about the chemistry, ductility, etcetera. Is that book "Metals and How to Weld Them" any good?
Great Episode!
This channel needs to be assigned curriculum for any student in welding trades

Didn't even know you had this channel
I know nothing about hard facing, I hope this was just one video about it and more to come, some more in depth about the rod themselves..

An excellent read in my opinion.
