    Magnus crossed a Champions Chess Tour rating of 2900 and demolished the entire field in this tournament. No wonder Magnus is an absolute beast, with 5 world championship titles, 5 blitz and 3 rapid world championship titles. The highest number of world championship titles ever. Not only is he the highest rated player of all time but has held the number 1 ranking for more than 11 straight years!

    Great and well deserved victory for Magnus against Arjun. This is a learning experience for Arjun-he only will get better and he already is a world class blitz player. But I am really excited to see how far Indian chess will go-Arjun, Praggnanandhaa, Gukesh and Nihal Sarin all have the potential to dominate the chess scene in the future (Usbekistan with Abdu and Russia with Esipenko and Murzin are also great). The Indians are humble and gracious in defeat-that’s a quality that makes them especially likeable. Future of chess is in very good hands. Greetings from Germany and all the best to my fellow chess followers. And also kudos to Antonio, great covery of the games as usual. no better player in history of chess engines! Murphy and Capablanca never studied books of chess engines and player many many less games that people play today. Capablanca played blindfolded against 40 people at same time winning all games. I think with a Chess engine, studying all chess database of History Capablanca should have done better as well as Murphy. You can not compare different trainings, technology, supplements and knowledge across time and space, They were intuitive players (Genius) not from theoretical study. If you put Magnus Carlsen in 1800 on time of Murphy Im not sure MAgnus will have won all games against him, Capablanca or even Fisher.

    • @nickpapageorgio8529
      @nickpapageorgio8529 2 года назад +19

      There’s a reason you can’t compare the 2 eras. This era has all the engines but that means everyone has access, therefore, there are more people to play against with that advantage. Before engines, you had to be creative. But that meant there were less good players. I try not to compare eras.

    At 5:23, in the alternate line where Pxe5 was considered dubious, because of the move Ng4, why not move the queen to d6, where it still defends the pawn, but gains a tempo by attacking the rook? Also, at 10:52, where the black queen and rook were forked, why not bring the rook to f6: Attack the queen, and maybe trade queens. If the queen is moved away, you can save the black queen, at least for a little longer.
