  • Dear Light Fire,
    God’s Genuine Servant!
A genuine servant is selfless, mindful of others, and shows real concern and consistency for those he or she is serving in the name of the Lord.
In Luke 10, Jesus is telling us about a man traveling from Jerusalem to Jericho who got attacked on the way. The robbers left him half dead. A priest passed by but didn’t help, the same happened with a Levite. Then a Good Samaritan saw him, took care of his wounds, and brought him to a Hotel. He stayed one night, and when he left he, paid the bill and asked the hotelowner to take care of him, also mentioning that upon his return he would cover any extra expenses. After the story, Jesus asked, “Who do you think was a neighbor to the man?” The law expert replied, “The one who had mercy on him.” Jesus responded, “Go and do Likewise.”
This story is powerful in many ways. Where we might expect a priest or a servant to take care of the beaten man, it was a complete stranger. Jesus specifically mentioned it was a Samaritan, assuming this person did not to church. Yet he was the only one who picked up this stranger and helped him. It pains me to see similar things happening in churches today, where servants of God praise the name of the Lord, and worship His name, but once church is over, they might pass by a broken person, leaving them on the side of the road.
Today, I pray for everyone serving in the body of Christ. May we come back to the heart of true worship, understanding why we started serving. Let us remember the promise we made to God to fulfill His assignment. May we, like the Samaritan take care of those He calls us to serve daily, without expectation. It’s not a Sunday show; being a servant is what we do all the time. Jesus, humble our hearts, protect and strengthen us. Our heart said “Yes,” and is still beating for You. As we come back, we vow to stay sincere, compassionate, and keep following You-lead the way. In Jesus Name, Amen
Matthew 7:12 So whatever you wish that others would do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.
