My wife and I have been been running these for a year and a half with zero issues. I take phone calls at 70 mph without problems. The battery lasts am extremely long time. And the intercom has worked for us at up to 3/4 mile apart.
the mount is suppose to slide between the shell and the cheek cushion of your helmet its the same mount system typr that sena and a lot of blue tooth headsets use kinda weird til you see how it works
Been using these with my son for two years now, without issue. You do have to be careful with the cable connection, as you have to remove it each time to charge in the same port (not ideal). However, as long as you are careful it's not a problem. The range, sound and phone connection on these is excellent. If you ride alone or with one other these are a no brainer for the money. Easy to fit. I connect my phone and use an app called ping that reads aloud my text and social media messages as they come in through the unit. I also have a sat nav app, and speed camera app all running at the same time through the unit, and all while using the comms to my son.
I bought this unit and it worked great the first time i used it, when i went to use my helmet the second time the USB connector was bent at a 45 degree angle and had to be wiggled to make a good connection. All i had to do was take a pair of pliers and cramp down slightly on the cable connector. A lot of people are complaining about the USB connector coming loose but i think this is the problem and it is a simple fix. So far great unit very loud.
I literally said the same thing, it's obvious he's never cleaned or had to remove the padding at all. Or didn't actually show how to mount the product he's reviewing!! LAME
Hey man just wanted to say thanks for posting this. I've been wanting to get a bluetooth headset for a while now for listening to music when I ride but didn't want to spend $100-$200 in case I didn't like it. I was worried the speakers wouldn't fit right or I wouldn't be able to hear it (I always ride w/ earplugs). So gave this a shot since it was so cheap and I love it. At max volume I can still hear it pretty good when riding under 80. At 80+ it's pretty faint. Also the velcro sticker worked great for me, have had no issues w/ it wanting to fall off. Don't really need it for either talking on the phone or w/ talking to other riders.
The clamp actually goes between the lid itself and the neckroll. That "rubbery" border from the lid is flexible and you can fold it outwards to make room for the clamp to go in there. Not on all helmet, but at least in the three different models (AGV, Scorpion and LS2) I tried it worked fine without any permanent damage to the helmet, although I felt a little bit uncomfortable having to use some force sometimes. Mostly you just need to find the right spot on the helmet where you have some space to put it.
It was reviews like these (boasting that BT-S2 are a worthy replacement for a Sena) that made me take the plunge and buy two of them, mainly for the intercom functionality, but also for the "automatic switching between intercom and media streaming): here's my quest so far (BMW Navigator VI and Chinese cheapo BT-S2 rider and pillion pairing - Lessons Learned): - Turn on Motorcycle/GPS unit: parining with Rider BT-S2 occurs fine, media streaming quality is excelent. - Turn on Pillion’s BT-S2 and start intercom session (short press on Pillion’s BT-S2 power button): intercom session starts fine, rider and pillion can hear eachother loud and clear. - Pause intercom session/return to media streaming (short press on either Rider or Pillion’s BT-S2 power button): media streaming resumes on Rider’s BT-S2, but the sound quality is terrible (think early 2000’s bluetooth streaming quality, lots of audio compression artifacts and overall low audio quality, touching the “unbearable”). Only solution I’ve found to the issue is to restart Bluetooth on the Navigator and reboot the Rider’s BT-S2 unit...then media streaming quality returns to “normal”/”excellent” levels. Might be of note that the bluetooth streaming quality issue does not seem to affect further intercom sessions (although whenever further intercom sessions are paused, the media streaming quality is bad). On another note: I’ve upgraded both the rider and pillion’s original BT-S2 audio drivers with the respectable Koss Porta-Pro drivers (I found the original drivers sounding “too thin”, a bit too screechy with overbloated mids and little highs or lows). The audio circuit in BT-S2 seems to be pretty able to drive the Porta-Pros, the audio quality (and the max volume to some extent) increased dramatically with this mod. If you intend to do it, you just require minor soldering skills and a fine tipped soldering iron...the desoldering/soldering job takes less than 20 minutes on each BT-S2. Regarding the bluetooth audio quality issue noted above: It's hard to tell which of the components is responsible (BMW Navigator or the BT-S2), but overall I feel like the BT-S2 has a few bugs (I've found other issues for which a BT-S2 reboot seems to solve the problem) which could potentially be fixed only if the manufacturer would care to release/support its immense consumer base with firmware updates. All in all: these BT-S2 units are cheap, provide excellent audio quality (I found I needed to upgrade the audio drivers, but it was an inexpensive and easy mod), and although there are a few bugs here and there, I feel like I can live with them. I think however that they can't really be compared with a Sena...and I think that the Sena's are worth their money - as you're paying for a product from a respectable company which invested hefty R&D resources in making a much more polished product, and keeps giving you free firmware updates - even when compared to these simplistic and largely unsupported cheap BT-S2 units...not to mention that there are quite a few reports about these breaking up after a while.
House Cuber15 - So you personally saw and heard it work with Sena units for bike to bike? What range did you get with this unit when talking to a Sena Bluetooth?
I've never been able to get mine to pair with any of my friend's Sena sets. But they do work wonderfully if you have another friend with a bt-s2. My wife and I have had great communication up to about a mile distance
I had one of these for about 7 months. Then the mount snapped. By the time that happened, the big push button was getting flaky and I had to push it several times to get it to work. I just mounted a Sena SHM5 which was < $100. IMO just go with that instead, it's a nicer unit, is going to last longer, and now that these knockoffs are in the mid $40 range it's only about twice the money and I think should last FAR more than twice as long.
Yup, my son and I bought a pair of these as well, they were hard to hear and every time we were going to ride we had to spend half an hour trying to get them to reconnect even though we had paired before. I wish we had spend the extra money and gotten a Sena. We both recently decided to get a pair of Senas and we 're much happier with the results, but we wasted our money trying to "save" it by not buying a real Sena initially. We got the 20s Evos.
The clamp works fine if you put it between the padding and the outside of the helmet. I drove across New Zealand with one and it worked great. The charge cord became loose in the socket and I had to press it to one side and tape it there during charging... bought 2 of them and the connection was fine easy to use otherwise a good buy at $45 each
Cool other matches your helmet. . motorcycle superstore is stupid revzilla bro lol.. but I love my sena product. good review bro I hate seeing reviews where people say oh its,the best just because they got it for free.. thanks for keeping it real on the review
Motorcycle Superstore always F's me over. I dunno why I keep believing they can ship things as fast as it says on their site. I'm like...ehhhh I can save $20. Then I regret it cuz I don't get it for 2 weeks. :(
I have senas on my street bikes but my buddy and I have this model on our 4 wheelers. All I can say is they are awsome in the woods we will not ride without them anymore they are just fantastic for $45
you know how you can tell your young? you've never charged a cell phone with a mini usb. lol. That was the first usb that lead to the micro usb that is now changing to the micro-c. good review as well.
Captain America Cell phones did not use that charger that is a mini USB aNot a B which is on the same charge port of a PS3 controller and oldschool BlackBerries
Angel Barrozo I also find that old type us a the same on my old mp3 player. Is way more durable then the micro usb. I dont think they should have changed it.
I've bought a couple of these. (1) the clamp goes between the rubber flap, and the liner, really, just that thin bit. (2) Don't bother with that because the plastic clamp breaks in a month or three. (3) The plug can't be standard USB because there's audio signals in there, so it's a hassle to carry around an otherwise unnecessary lead for charging. (4) With a pillion or other rider, any silence was filled with a quiet, but weird eerie sound of ghosts. Or aliens. Something. But I still loved mine, until I tried a Sena 10s. Now I own three Sena 10s's :)
I don’t buy cheap rubbish. I don’t see the point of paying $35 for a cheap one when you can pay a little more for a top brand then you have top quality in all functions. Great video for those wanting to buy it.
I have the same unit and the same helmet it works I actually used the Velcro and the clamp I simply removed the padding as I was installing it and it worked great really secured
got one of these last summer for $25 us/ just picked up a 2nd for my new riding friend $31. gearbest is always running flash sales on top of the great bargains/ sound is OK, not great, but serves it's purpose well. great review!
I used it for about one year it was great. Same pros and cons. After a year the audio in one ear started dropping out. Trying to buy a new headset is next to impossible.
ive had the bt-s2 fot three months now, i love the unit. it plays music and communicates perfectly but my only problem now is that the usb port is starting to wear out and wont charge any longer. i wish it would have lasted a little longer. defiantly worth the 35 bucks
floresarturo34 Hey, I have a question. If 2 people have the BT-S2, can they, without 'charge' call/communicate with each other ? Or do you've to call each other mobile ?
I bought the Sena 20s had it for three and lost the Bluetooth device, it worked pretty good,, but I don't want to spend that kind of money again I might have to check this out
that rubber should be pretty easy to move and adjust..i had no problem mounting my sena that way and that mount looks pretty similar. that usb looks like the newer usbc connection they starting using.
OneEyeHooly looks like an 8-pin ‘USB’ (UC-E6, actually) connector, common to small point & shoot cameras. It’s not technically USB, and I think the wiring can differ between them. That said, it doesn’t seem to be too hard to find cables advertised specifically for this unit. For example: Fodsports BT-S2 Charging USB cable www.amazon.com/dp/B078TYZF2B/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_YZ.qBbERM054R
Ships in 24 hours means it will leave their building within 24 hours. Shipping to time to your house depends on what you choose. Ground, 2 day air, next day air, etc..
My neck roll goes into a slot that runs the entire bottom rim of the helmet. The only way this would fit on mine is if I cut a slot in the neck roll which I didn't want to do. It's too small to fit over it.
Does this connect to SENA SMH-10R? I am looking for something to put to my daughter's helmet, so me, my wife and daughter can communicate when we go out together.
I like how you figured out how to run all the wires and mic but couldn't figure out how to mount the clamp that will clamp onto that helmets side wall.
I have a similiar device. I only used half of the mounting clamp. Threw away the part of the clamp that goes inside the helmet. Then drilled holes in helmet and mounted the exterior mounting part with screws. I "glued" the ear speakers in place with weatherstrip adhesive.
How's the sound quality for tunes? I use HTC noise cancelling in ear buds to drown out the loud pipe on my quad. Is there any bass at all with these? Thanks!
Great review. I'm cheap to if it works ok good enough for me. Maybe their new model will fix some bugs. Would be great to see a full installation though. Cheers
Raiden X If you wear earplugs it's too quiet but bearable, without his it's more than enough. Speaker quality is quite good but not great. Even though it's not perfect, it's still very good for £28.99. I say to anyone find me a better one without paying near £200...no one can find one without buying sena at £200-240
How do you review a product and not know how to properly install it?🤔🤔 The mounting clip goes between the cheekpad/neckroll (which is removeable) and the EPS liner.
Something I noticed is if the speakers get pushed up past the direct center of your ear it becomes harder to hear. I had to fix too with 3m velcro so it doesnt shift taking on/off my helmet. See if that helps.
The biggest problems with this headset is 1) auto answer and 2) no google assistant activation. Auto answer is a problem because The times I actually want to answer a phone call on my motorcycle are few and far between, and being distracted by a phone call auto answering unless I fumble with my helmet is NOT GOOD. No google assistant activation.....really? no easy way to trigger the ability to control your navigation/music/etc by voice? I mean, you are on a motorcycle, it's not like you want to have to paw at your phone to do stuff. I formerly got around this with a android app, but with Pie, google has changed the permissions, and this is now no longer possible.
Hi , I see that nobody ask this....I have a very loud bike and BT-S2 headset is useless, I can't hear anything... The problem is that BT-S2 doesn't have classic micro USB port, co I can't use any gadget to connect normal 3,5 mm in ear headphones with micro USB extension.. Because BT-S2 have some strange micro USB port...you also mention this in your clip. Also I can't find some in ear headsets with the extension that is existing in BT-S2.. Do you have some idea about this issue? Thanks!
My wife and I have been been running these for a year and a half with zero issues. I take phone calls at 70 mph without problems. The battery lasts am extremely long time. And the intercom has worked for us at up to 3/4 mile apart.
How many people were you able to connect to at the same time with the same unit
@@leilanimartinez4089 i know some go up to 6 to 8 people.... haven't tested it yet...
you can put a song in you phone and both of you can listen ?? Thanks!!
Its probably best if the guys I ride with NOT hear what Im saying.
LOOOOL
Lmao shitt I thought I was the only one who like to talk to him self while riding
I see you've got an RFS KTM so I've subscribed to your channel, and I agree with your comment🤣😂🤣
the mount is suppose to slide between the shell and the cheek cushion of your helmet its the same mount system typr that sena and a lot of blue tooth headsets use kinda weird til you see how it works
SpeedClutchLean yup, I pulled the cheek padding off and clamped right on.
Working out this very simple attachment system, makes you too intelligent to have your own RUclips channel it would seem. LOL
I was like does this dude not know that the cheek cushion comes off
It’s for helmets that have removable inserts
All cushions are removable or at least displaceable, whether it's meant to be or not.
my friend rides a Ducati Penigale and he wears a $75 helmet from walmart.. I'm gona tell him all about this Bluetooth device. he will love it!! 😄
Ballin on a budget :D
PistnRods You mean dying on a budget. Get good gear. You get one head.
FranchiseSIX5 more expensive doesn't necessarily mean better protection
Michael Serna really? Go check on some crash test between a expensive and a cheap helmet.
kdash0213 I agree with Michael www.valleybmwriders.com/documents/Motorcycle%20Helmet%20Performance.pdf
I love when you find these cheaper alternatives!!!!
Been using these with my son for two years now, without issue. You do have to be careful with the cable connection, as you have to remove it each time to charge in the same port (not ideal). 5 years with this headset and same S&S helmet. Good taste dude. Headset still works and holds a charge like the day I bought it
I bought this unit and it worked great the first time i used it, when i went to use my helmet the second time the USB connector was bent at a 45 degree angle and had to be wiggled to make a good connection. You lost me as soon as I realized you have no clue how to mount it. How does one review a headset and not know to take the cheekpads out to install it
was thinking the same, that should be common sense but he...
I literally said the same thing, it's obvious he's never cleaned or had to remove the padding at all. Or didn't actually show how to mount the product he's reviewing!! LAME
This nerd said companies contact him for reviews. 🤣🤣🤣🤣 BS
That connector is a UC-E6 connector, was standard on some digital cameras a few years ago, nikon collpix cameras used to have them.

A review of an intercom system....where he doesn’t review the intercom system 🤦♂️
I for real just came to the comment section to complain about this 😂
The AUX cable is for older GPS and Radar detectors.

that is an old camera cable from the early 2000's that you used to transfer pics to computer. Printers also used it before standardizing to micro usb

$57 with the link. I guess they saw your review and jacked up the price
And it's out of stock.
$32 on banggood
I am not that technical using these types equipment but I am learning with vlogs like this. Best to you.
I have the same unit and the same helmet it works I actually used the Velcro and the clamp I simply removed the padding as I was installing it and it worked great really secured
It seems a very good barging for what it is
Bought this same headset and it worked well and I was super pumped but I couldn’t hear anything over 35mph.
sounds pretty decent for 35 tbh 👍
As long as I can hear your sweet sweet voice
got one of these last summer for $25 us/ just picked up a 2nd for my new riding friend $31. gearbest is always running flash sales on top of the great bargains/ sound is OK, not great, but serves it's purpose well. great review!
The clamp is meant to go between the padding and the shell, it's not supposed to clamp OVER the padding...
I may look into this. Even the extra hookups for the sena is more than that entire unit. And it matched your helmet 😉
All I wanna do is match!
Nice honest review man. Thumbs up.
I used it for about one year it was great. Same pros and cons. After a year the audio in one ear started dropping out. Trying to buy a new headset is next to impossible.
Will these work as just intercom? Or do they have to be connected to a phone?
That is a first gen mini USB
I use an apple AirPod and tape it to my inside full face visor helmet, and blast the volume!!! Works good!
ive had the bt-s2 fot three months now, i love the unit. it plays music and communicates perfectly but my only problem now is that the usb port is starting to wear out and wont charge any longer. i wish it would have lasted a little longer. defiantly worth the 35 bucks
floresarturo34 Hey, I have a question. If 2 people have the BT-S2, can they, without 'charge' call/communicate with each other ? Or do you've to call each other mobile ?
yes. I have 2. me and my wife talk clearly while riding 2 up. Haven't tested for distance yet.
DANgerus 1399 Thank you for answering the question!
Try changing the cable usually those are what fail not the port.
so does it work with senas
Hey dude the unit is really good for the money iv had mine for 5 months I'd be lost with out I paid 47 quid for mine in the UK.
I still dig it.
So say I got this and a mate had it we could talk to each other while riding..?
Aussie GoPro yes
I bought the Sena 20s had it for three and lost the Bluetooth device, it worked pretty good,, but I don't want to spend that kind of money again I might have to check this out
Nice review, sounded honest. Thanks
that rubber should be pretty easy to move and adjust..i had no problem mounting my sena that way and that mount looks pretty similar. that usb looks like the newer usbc connection they starting using.
The mount goes between the inner liner s and the shell
It's an 8 pin mini usb!
Found that out myself!
OneEyeHooly looks like an 8-pin ‘USB’ (UC-E6, actually) connector, common to small point & shoot cameras. It’s not technically USB, and I think the wiring can differ between them.

Great review. Looking forward to your opinion on intercom fuctionality and Sena compatibility update.
So how good is the microphone? How good can phone callers hear you?

Eldo Rado and now they are out of business. They miss the 24hr ship time plus transit time multiple times for me.
Hi. Does it work with Google Assistant? Can you say "OK Google" whilst riding and it opens up the assistant? Thank you!
This product sounds amazing but I can’t find anything that can connect to 4 other people cause i ride with 4 or 5 other people at a time
Sena pack talk.
I'm gonna buy it seems good for the price not trying to spend hundreds of dollars on a sena and also i dont have any friends to ride with so yeah !!!
I guess you didn't try that clamp because it works with my helmet that also has that neckroll
My neck roll goes into a slot that runs the entire bottom rim of the helmet. The only way this would fit on mine is if I cut a slot in the neck roll which I didn't want to do. It's too small to fit over it.
when you connect to other riders does it use the cell phone or does it work on its own?
Brent Smith it works on it's own and has up to 1000m of range
Does this connect to SENA SMH-10R? I am looking for something to put to my daughter's helmet, so me, my wife and daughter can communicate when we go out together.
@@rickyyip4852 did you figure this out?
I have this but it has no instruction on how to pair two units together, do you know how to do this please.
I like how you figured out how to run all the wires and mic but couldn't figure out how to mount the clamp that will clamp onto that helmets side wall.
Can you pls show how did you install the unit..
😊
I ordered 2 of those days days ago!

i could fit it to my arai axcess 3 with the provided mounting hardware. you need to slide the mounting-bracket between the shell and the cheekpad.
Two stereo speakers for each side of the helmet? Are you sure about that?

The audio cable is likely for people that prefer to use ear buds and headsets
damn.. i had the same helmet as you before my accident. That BT-S2 sure looks good on it. Should of gotten the same helmet again
Love how comfortable this helmet is
i have the same unit, and it works well for me.
How's the sound quality for tunes? I use HTC noise cancelling in ear buds to drown out the loud pipe on my quad. Is there any bass at all with these? Thanks!
Is this an actual Radio or just a Bluetooth device? Does this actually work with more than two people?
Thank you for an honest review.
Awesome vid and nice bike
Can you just leave the volume all the way up and use volume thru phone?
For the charger, use the ps 3 controller charger
Is there an update to this video and headset ❓
Is possible to use it without the mic and the adhesive earphones?
That usb cord was the norm for a short while. You can find them at thrift stores for a buck.
Great review. I'm cheap to if it works ok good enough for me. Maybe their new model will fix some bugs. Would be great to see a full installation though. Cheers
OK I CLICKED THE DAMN BUTTON! Oh this was recorded and not live...., now I feel silly!
How is the sound quality from the speakers for music? Is it still good quality and loud enough going high speed and bad distortions?
Raiden X
If you wear earplugs it's too quiet but bearable, without his it's more than enough. Speaker quality is quite good but not great.
Even though it's not perfect, it's still very good for £28.99. I say to anyone find me a better one without paying near £200...no one can find one without buying sena at £200-240
good review man, nice shades too!
The charge cable is not hard to find...many electronics use the same mini connector
i have a 2014 yamaha fz09 and i was wondering what bar mirrors do you have? i cant seem to find any that will fit with the bar ends
Same here!
How about SILICONE? Would that help to keep the unit stuck to the helmet?
so... would you recommend this for just music use?
That Bluetooth is trash man the charging /listening cord breaks within a week I baught a 2 pack and they both broke
You're right, although its not the cable its actually the units port that breaks not the cable (which is even worse)
How do you review a product and not know how to properly install it?🤔🤔 The mounting clip goes between the cheekpad/neckroll (which is removeable) and the EPS liner.
I bought this and it was extremely quiet cant hear it past like 15 mph and anything above 2000rpm
Something I noticed is if the speakers get pushed up past the direct center of your ear it becomes harder to hear. I had to fix too with 3m velcro so it doesnt shift taking on/off my helmet. See if that helps.
I wear earplugs and can still hear but only to about 60mph max, i wish it went louder
Guess you ride a Harley with no mufflers, LOL
I ride a victory with loud as hell "big honkers" for exhaust and I take phone calls at 70mph on the freeway with no problems.
hey bro you gotta take the neck roll out then the clamp fits along the frame of the helmet...sena smh units have the same clamp
Toselli Dawson He's too dumb to test gear. Pathetic.
*GENUINE 3M* is out best friend here
I have that unit. Battery died just as I pulled into my destination after 3.5hrs on the road. Couldn't recharge due to proprietary charger.
where can i find good headset when racing harescrambles like 7-11mile range so i can talk to my other half when shes at pit.

Hi, if you communicate with someone else via this device, are you able to record the whole communication?
It’s says 57 dollars did it went up in price ?
Clamped fine on my scorpion R420 and I only paid $35 canadian
Hey could you help on where to get this.....it looks like the website says it’s discontinued?
The biggest problems with this headset is 1) auto answer and 2) no google assistant activation.
Auto answer is a problem because The times I actually want to answer a phone call on my motorcycle are few and far between, and being distracted by a phone call auto answering unless I fumble with my helmet is NOT GOOD.
No google assistant activation.....really? no easy way to trigger the ability to control your navigation/music/etc by voice? I mean, you are on a motorcycle, it's not like you want to have to paw at your phone to do stuff. I formerly got around this with a android app, but with Pie, google has changed the permissions, and this is now no longer possible.
you can put a song in you phone and both of you can listen ?? Thanks!!
any updates on how well it works as a communication unit?
Hi , I see that nobody ask this....I have a very loud bike and BT-S2 headset is useless, I can't hear anything... The problem is that BT-S2 doesn't have classic micro USB port, co I can't use any gadget to connect normal 3,5 mm in ear headphones with micro USB extension.. Because BT-S2 have some strange micro USB port...you also mention this in your clip. Also I can't find some in ear headsets with the extension that is existing in BT-S2.. Do you have some idea about this issue? Thanks!
That socket is used on all GPS devices
