This could be one of the most important & biggest SUV reveals of the year! So let’s take a closer look…
Under the bonnet, you’ll still find the same 4-litre twin-turbo V8 engine as found in the standard DBX. However, it’s had new turbos & exhaust systems fitted, along with having had an ECU remap. As a result, the power output has been increased from 550hp & 700Nm to an eye-watering 707hp & 900Nm!!
That’s not all that’s changed though! There’s a whole host of design upgrades, from an all-new (and even bigger!) grille upfront to a huge rear diffuser sat between quad tailpipes at the back!
Naturally, it won’t come cheap. We don’t have the exact price yet, but we’re expecting it to cost around £200,000…. But it’s got to be worth it, right?! You’ll have to stick with Mat to find out!

I'm happy Aston Martin gets it's engines from us Germans, Aston Martin is very popular here, but the SUVs so far are weirdly rare.
Here in Germany especially in Frankfurt and Munich i've seen more Lamborghini Urus than DBX so far, i don't understand why but considering that Aston Martin are pretty popular in both Cities and Areas around it (I can't drive through either City without either seeing a new or old Vantage as well as DBS & DB11s, but DBX? very rare in comparison, which is strange considering that the DBX is their bestseller apparently

Let's face it, "707" is Aston Martin's way of channeling "007" without paying royalties to Ian Fleming's heirs. I can just imagine them fine-tuning the engine to hit exactly 707hp, not 706 or 708.

Immediately I was like "dodge hellcat" and then I look at the comments and I'm seeing awestruck people who are like "Woah that is soo cool, 707 is a lot of horsepower" and I'm like dodge has been doing this for the past 7 years!!! I mean i don't know how they landed at 707 exact , like 710 or 705. But no, it's 707. I mean I'm a pretty hardcore dodge guy, my childhood favourite was the Daytona but still! Theyve now got the trackhawk, Durango, they slapped that in a freakin ram, and they've got at least a million editions of the challenger/charger with 707 HP.
Aston Martin are usually a little bit down on power and acceleration when compared with competition, so to see them come out with something that (nearly) wipes the floor with everything else is really special

AM cars are always slow up until now because they always had to compromise but now that Mercedes is handling most of their tech and powertrains, that should change from this year onwards.

Would love to see the Nürburgring Nordschleife Times for both the Durango Hellcat and the DBX 707 once it's out.
Aston Martin has been testing this one on the Nürburgring the past Months, Dodge for some Reason hasn't tested the Durango Hellcat here, eventhough they tested everything else here extensively
@@chartreux1532 the Durango Hellcat wasn’t even made for circuits. No one who buys one even cares about that type of racing. To many of its market, the only racing that matters is drag racing, and maybe nascar.

All thanks to the big pair of turbochargers they put in that they can churn out those extra horses. At first, I thought did they put in a V12 but I was wrong. It is the same engine. Just mind-blowing!!

The 707 treatment for the Aston Martin DBX is Stunning! Thank you Mat for this excellent preview.
707 is 707ps which translate to 697hp. It isn’t the most powerful production suv in the world because the Tesla Model X Plaid is 1020hp but if we’re talk combustion engine it’ll be the Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat which is 710hp I believe. I might be mistaken I don’t know.
707PS = 707hp or 697bhp.
PS stands for pferdestarke in German, which literally translates to horsepower (hp).
I need to see you drag race this against a Urus, X6M Competition, and Cayenne Turbo GT, and if available a Tesla X Plaid.

The Urus is not that fast compared to its competitors. It should be the DBX 707, Cayenne Turbo GT, Model X Plaid, Stelvio quadrifoglio, GLC 63S coupe, and Durango hellcat
Interesting what Aston have done, beefed up the DBX. I would like to see a drag race between the DBX 707 and the Hennessey Jeep Trackhawk.

I'd take this over a Urus for sure. For me it would be between the Cayenne Turbo GT and the Aston Martin DBX 707.

Awesome achievement with a small budget to produce the best SUV in the world. Lets hope it keeps funding years of great coupe's for those of us who care little for trucks. I would like to see the first time one of these is perched on a rock or log flexing on that Carbon side panel.

They have had an exceptional lineup of cars since they launched the DB9.
How is the lineup awesome? Its quite average at best...
Aston Martin Vantage V8 = overpriced and outdated AMG GT S
Aston Martin DB11 = Outdated, less luxurious interior and worse performance than its competitors (Bentley Continental - Ferrari Roma range)
Aston Martin DBS = worse performing, and sounding than the 812 Superfast (direct competitor)
Aston Martin DBX = Again, same outdated Mercedes Infotainment and interior, same generic Twin turbo V8 from AMG like in any C class amg, just like the vantage and V8 DB11...
Now this thing: Probably worse performing than the current Porsche Cayenne turbo s while being much more expensive.
Tell me how this lineup (besides the DBS maybe) as any special? Especially for that kinda money they ask...

That's very unlikely because dodge only made the Durango SRT hellcat for 1 year... Dodge said they wouldn't make one from 2022 going on
the Durango doesn’t belong in the LUXURY sports suvs so the dbx707 is the most powerful
I prefer this DBX over majority of the suv's on that list. But I'd debate the audi RSQ8 and the urus as a competitive option. Those both look amazing as well.

Can't imagine driving on our roads with these 23". Ouch.
While wheel size does play a role, ride quality and dynamics are mainly influenced by the chassis and suspension setup. Both the Audi RSQ8 and the new L460 Range Rover are available with 23" wheels, but the Audi's ride will be harsher because it emphasizes sportiness whereas the RR will be a lot more supple because it' suspension will be tuned for comfort. Although yes, larger wheels do present other worries, such as increased chances of curbing the wheels and making the vehicle less capable off road.

@@v12-s65 Absolutely true. My point, however is that 20" or 21" wheels on the same vehicle (ex. a Range Rover) are less likely to be curbed than 23" wheels. Just like how 17" wheels on a Golf are more prone to curbing than 15" or 16".

When I read 707 horsepower I thought this was gonna have the engine from the DBS in it, Aston Martin missed out on making the only V12 super SUV
They are trying to appeal to a larger market I suppose, but even at 3k rpm it sounds pretty decent, so hopefully it keeps that deep raspy sound when accelerating, but with restrictions getting tighter every year for efficiency and their v12s being relatively exclusive I don't think they could produce enough engines for the number of cars and meet the restrictions, that's my speculation

well when you look at the individual parts that make the drive train then it's 10% Polish, 10% Hungarian and so on and so forth...but that was not the point.

It depends really, but for example a Range Rover then is more prone to breakdown than any of the others. Is not really down to the country, but yeah I agree that generally speaking, and not only for cars, German engineering is very robust and sound

Jeep Cherokee Trackhawk? Dodge Durango Hellcat? Tesla Model X plaid? I mean there are a few more powerful SuVs than this "most powerful SUV in the world" Mat. :p So it's a tuned 63S engine from Merc? Yeah, not entirely fancy but let's not anger the Aston faboys.
I think the rich people gonna have a though time choosing between the aston and the Bentayga both gorgeous, fast and luxorious to drive around.
I guess those who want more practicality, an arguably better infotainment and better reliability would do well to pick the Bentayga, whereas people who value style, dynamics and and a higher-quality interior should stick to the DBX.
