I think thrash is the perfect form of metal. Not too brutal, not too mellow. Like, Its brutal, but not messy ya know? Like, if you keep going down the line you get death metal, then you go down to the "x-core" music, which just gets too messy and vocals that ya know, aren't really vocals. I don't mind screaming, but you can still sing and have the raw energy that emits emotion like Dave.
Indeed it is. It has the intricacy and precision of a fighter jet but with the attitude of the jester which makes it such a vicious prototype of heavy metal. And in the case of Megadeth those attributes are taken to the highest levels, all while leaving the points sharpened and polished to a razor sharp edge.
He did a damn good job too. Megadeth will ALWAYS be #1. Dave invented Thrash to its core, taught James Guitar, wrote half their first 3 albums, still made a better band and released more music then any of the big 4. Dave is KING.
@@Megadeth_777 lol “wrote half his first albums” he gets credit for half of kea and a few tracks from rtl. After that he had no more contribution to the band.
how can you fucking write something as awesome as this song, it's on the EXACT edge of being TOO messy. When the end refrain kicks in I might as well be in heaven because it is about as good as music gets.
This was the fastest fucking thing happening in thrash back in the day, Mustaine doesn't get enough credit. No thrash band was playing as fast and as technical as Dave was.
To be honest, Chris Poland looks like he's got more heart to playing guitars than Kirk Hammett... not that I'm trying to start a debate. I could listen to Chris' solo a million times (listened to it 6 times just now) and play it over & over again. I love this band.
I love this song. I love how the two guitars play those "fills" or "runs" (I guess you'd call them) before the verse. I like how the guitars play it three times, then the bass joins in on the fourth one. This song is packed full of cool riffs. Definitely my favorite song off their first album.
You know as metal as i am i am also very young *20* in a month... and it brings a tear to my eye to think i missed seeing all of my favorite bands in there beginning. And you froze a peice of time and let me see this. wow.

@BloodyKing13 yep your right dont know what i was thinking about clean parts in tornado... i need to go back and listen to this album again start to finish its been a while. well if you count the 2004 reissue the slowest thing on it is my creation. lucretia isnt really that fast. most of the stuff on it isnt so fast that it requires alternate picking
I think cryptic writings has some really good tracks on it, especially mastermind, use the man, fff, the disintegrators, vortex, she wold, have cool will travel are all really good listenable songs. They still have the elements of metal or thrash... just with more rock and bluse based elements. I think some people... mainly kids, need to listen to the music long enough to finally have some appreciation for it. I used to hate everything after rust in peace, but as I grew older, i like it all now.
@rickyjshiznit that is why the thrash metal is beautiful, it doesnt have to be bases in one thing, its a very complete genre... the speed of speed metal, the agressiveness of punk, the versatility of NWOBHM, and it doesnt have to be always as fast as Fight fire with fire, angel of death, battery or set the world afire... Violent Revolution is an amazing thrash metal song, and its "slow"
@tonmandude Yeah, it's not a complete garble of grunts and growls mixed with a guitar put through a blender and drums put outside during a hailstorm with golf ball sized hail. :P
Killing is my business remaster sounds really good. Upped the sound big time. Original album had poor sound quality. The rest of the albums sound fine in original sound. These live performances are priceless. Capitol should obtain these old tapes and release old shows like this on 2DVD sets. Megadeth in their prime!
it's much faster than than the album version i would do the same thing but lots of bands do it compare highway to hell album version to the live version... or the trooper by maiden

While higher than a bat's ass on top of that
Chris Poland has said the exact same thing actually. Pretty dang crazy
When they were all on they were untouchable, the peace sells lineup was definitely different but they were off or were too messed up you could tell
Dave is absolutely fucking dangerous, imagine being like 23 and writing this or however old he was. No one touches him here

Like the shot thats literal noise and screaming like a rape victim is barely music tbh but thrash is today what classical was in the 1500s
As a child i though trash bands like megadeth, metallica etc are a just metal itself
Yes I concur. Where in death metal the instrumentation is good but vocals lags
