      Without a doubt. TW fans have been waiting for his comeback... they never left. The majority of golfers who didn't like Tiger, including myself, have been rooting for his comeback. TW brought Augusta to its knees in 97 and he made it roar yesterday. The guys on tour have never heard A Tiger roar and they cracked. His popularity grew like wildfire yesterday. Time to let the hair or patches of hair go Tiger... or NEVER take your hat off again...NEVER!!!!!!

    28-3 was a big one for me. I turned the game off at 28-3. I checked in on the score on Google some. I saw that the Patriots were driving to tie the game, ran to the TV and was in awe of what Brady and the Patriots managed to pull off. What a great sports moment.

    The first time i saw Tiger played golf was like early morning here in our country. I don't play golf, until now, and its not a popular sports here, and i just knew some basic rules of the game. But i was glued to the TV until 3 am to watch the guy. The next day, i did some research and information about golf and about the man. I followed his games and careers and i saw how he dominates the world of golf. I also saw his downfalls and breakdown. But I still read and follow his games and thinking at the back of my mind, come on Tiger just one more time. And he did it. Maybe im just one of the million (silent) fans that now lucky enough to witness this most memorable story that Tiger written for us. Let's cherish the moment while the man still plays golf and inspire us that once in the field of any sports there is one man that connect us AS ONE, all over the world. Thank you Sir Tiger!

    • @OlJackBurton
      @OlJackBurton 5 лет назад +2

      And he can still play much better. He won the Masters with just patience, guile, experience, mental strength and endurance rather than overpowering skill or talent and without making a single eagle. Ranked 40 something out of 65 players in driving distance and driving accuracy, he was pulling a page out of Ben Hogan's golfing philosophy, with consistent fundamentals.

    The last 5 years have been trying to rebuild his body and his game. 2 years ago he thought it was over. Then he was happy to play, but there were questions if he could win. Then he won the Tour Championship. Then there were questions of if he could win a major. Now he's done that. The flood gates are open. He's #6 in the world and got there in a year. He probably always knew he could do it, but now he *knows* he can do it. He is going to go on a run over the next 5 years. That's 20 major attempts to win 3 for a tie and 4 to break the record. He can pace himself like he used to because he doesn't have to play his way back into form or play his way into eligibility. He will be laser focused on the majors. He knows how to peak. He will play fewer events, like he did in his prime, but now it will be to keep his back healthy. The young guns better put on their seatbelts.

    It depends on what you consider popular. He was super famous in his prime, but not necessarily super well liked. He's becoming more well liked now after going through so much. People can relate to that and the fact that he seems to be a much nicer human being now than he was back then will serve him well going forward.

      Tiger bulked up a bit to much, and has always swung as hard as anyone on Tour in history-the result? The litany of injuries he suffered? Other than the back, the others are more related to the sports that require quick movement (basketball) etc. I remember watching him in person for the first time ('96) in Vegas, where he won his first tournament as a professional. It was Sunday, and he was right up there competing for the win. We picked him up in the fairway I think on the 12th hole (par 5). He was nursing a groin injury, that he may have suffered at this tournament. Anyways, again, he was injured-not a big deal, as many pro golfers I'm sure have experienced a mild groin pull. Of course the difference was he was only 20 yrs old, and the young body heals itself in most cases, which it did, as later that month, as he won his second pro tournament. The back however, as I personally can attest to, is a whole different matter, especiaily when it comes to golf. Obviously the previous surgeries didn't involve fusing the vertebrae, which he finally had performed as a last resort. Kudos to the laborious recovery and strengthening regiment that I'm sure was required to get to where he is. He's thankful for every painless swing, especially knowing it could be his last.

    I'm to young to have paid attention to Tiger in his prime and understand just what he meant to the game of golf but I'm also old enough to have caught and understand when Tiger said he didn't identify as being Black. Now if he had said he didn't just want to be known as the Black golfer that would've been cool whatever but he said something far different. Still congrats to Tiger.

    It's all about his health. If he can stay as healthy as he seems to be right now, who knows how much he'll be able to accomplish. Personally, I still think it will be hard to pass Jack, but the US Open is at Pebble Beach and he's won there before and the PGA is at Bethpage where he's won also. He'll need to drive the ball a little straighter, but his iron play has been stellar and his putting seems to be coming around. Can't wait for the next 3 majors to see what he can do. LOL

    I don't understand the focus on Tiger's driving distance. He is still plenty long, but it's like people forget that he is one of the best ever after the drive too.
