I'd do anything to hear this for the first time again
Still would!
Even though this is ten years ago branford has grown into a giant. What an incredible group.
Jazz: the apex of the evolution of music.
A fierce warrior, Justin Faulkner is.
Really two comments? … let me put it simply..good god dam …this is a masterpiece
Justin You Got Some Heat Wit You Fam!
OK Can We All Just Agree Joey Is NOT A HUEMAN HE'S CLEARLY DISPLAYING ALIEN INTELLIGENCE HERE C'MON MAN HOW ARE YOU THAt GOOD SON? YOU ARE THE STEVE JOBS OF THE PIANO CLEARLY ALIEN INTELLIGENCE BRO!
JOEY and CHIC ARE WHAT IT'S ABOUT!
There is nothing like collective musicianship everyone is killin’ it!
Calderazzo just got me tearing up wow.!!
The joy i have listening to this is only surpassed by the fun this band is having playing it, obviously!
ICONIC PERFORMANCE!!!!
On another level not just regular music
Calderazzo is KILLING here !!
Damn !!
The interplay between him, Faulkner and Revis during his solo is just magnificent, soaring, music and is what real jazz is all about
Branford let him go!
SMH, this should be illegal to be this good!
for some strange reason folks hate introducing the drummers but finally they did freaking awesome
the drummers always leave with everyone's woman.
Saw the band earlier this year-2023 in Milwaukee-Super, outstanding-the perfect group...awesome folks and phenomenal bandmates!
Can’t stop and won’t stop listening to this performance from the master and his quintet of musketeers.
Outstanding playing by Brandford and Co. If you didn’t enjoy that, then you have a hole in your soul. 🎷🎶🎵🎻🎹🥁🎼👏🏾👏🏾
I have never ever heard something better. ..
Joey took NO PRISONERS here, damn !!! :o
WOW! Thanks for posting this. *****
I do love great rock bands like Zepplin but jazz is in another space. Rock rocks me but jazz makes move and think.
Hey MAN! Thank You GuyS! YOU HAVE SHOWN ME WHAT THIS THING IS ABOUT! MAYBE YOU VOULD NAME YOUR NEXT SONG : "WHAT THIS THING IS ABOUT! You guys exemplify everything that is right with the world BLESS YOU ALL.....and TAIN WATTS. as well as JUSTIN

Amazing Amazing!!
The audio equivalent of momentarily suspending gravity…
Hell yeah!
I hate to say but Justin Plays this particular tune much better than Tain does on the album.
Richie Garrison truth...jus keep in mind,Justin had what Tain did study and add on to...which,he did!! Imagine,if Tain plays it,again, after seeing what Faulk done🤔✊🏿
Tain's Solo's are STILL BETTER THO, but Justin's Groove and comping are really something to be taken aback by. But Tain's Solo is STILL Better!
@@randomaxe7746 I dont know I kind of like Justin's raw energy on his solo more. Not to take anything away from Tain, just personal perference.
Disagree.
Tain has that ocean's deep, fecund earthy, rootsy, soul movingly heavy feel that came from Elvin. Justin doesn't have that for me.
Both ridiculous, incredible, best of their kind drummers and both sound magnificent in this quartet, but I personally prefer Tain.
Again, its just personal preference.
It’s absolutely stood the test of time.
Branford Marsalis, je l'ai vu au New Morning en 2009 je crois, avec cette formation..toujours un incroyable musicien..je trouve que les mélodies disparaissent, c'est parfois étouffant...sauf dans les standards..mais bon, je respecte..
YESSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!
Wow
Vixe...
thunder and blazes quote @ 5:42.
so what's the time signature again? cause i couldn't figure it out after listening it for 5 years.
Paul Gradinaru is in double time: 2 bars in 4/4, 3 bars in 3/4, 1 bar in 6/4 and 4 bars again in 4/4
At the start A in 4/4 and B in 5/4 I have the lead sheet for this tune :)
@@racieltorres1 thanks man ;)

Theres the solo changes
I was wondering that 20 years ago. The rhythmic changes in the meter add something. Imagine hearing this level of musicianship every night.
