These can be had for £20 now, the good ones have a sharp A on the ATS+ front logo. On the back should be an embossed radiowave type pattern & a USB C port. I enjoy using it, a great fun little radio. Great video, great channel you have, thanks.
The ATS20+ is a nice little radio that works reasonably well for the price. I slap it in my bag when I go on holiday and it's ok for what I expect of it.
Seems OK, I'll need to mess around with it more. I have the PL-330 and Xhdata D808 which are good but have gone up in price. This little receiver was €44 delivered, I think it's OK at that price point.
If you had the arduino code/firmware, it wouldnt be so difficult to add a line of code to up the tuning to 100hz resolution.Ive some radio kit here which Ive done it to. Been tempted to buy one of those as so cheap.Has hack me written all over.----- to follow up, it arrived. Flashed and the local osc ic does not 'lean' itself to linearity. Then again for €50 the box alone is useful.
@@IrishvintageTVRadio I did some digging, source code and various custom fw is out there. Id have fun with this.. maby Jan i order one to hack up. Get it to boot with something cheeky
I looked at a used one today at a radio rally and liked it but the seller wanted £10 more thna Amazon!!! I've ordered and it should be here tomorrow. I agree, 'There's not much to her'! Thanks for the video.
For the price it's probably the best deal out there for an all mode & was surprised by the filter selections. It's not perfect as the small arduino struggles * doesn't load the AM BC band at times but it performs smoothly & the audio is just fine. The fun factor alone is worth the price ($40 shipped off ebay). Plenty sensitive & yes, grounding helps & noticed breakthrough on some bands but not enough to be a concern. The case is aluminum, seems to be circuit board material used at the ends.
Maybe I am a bit lazy, but this receiver needs a remote control with big buttons on it to relieve the strain of operating the small buttons on the box. Otherwise the radio is selective and sensitive enough to compare with Ham radio receivers, eh? Outside antennas is the way to go.
Mine lasted four months and the CPU I believe crashed. It works off and on and then freezes up. It's junk with no warranty.. $50 USD down the drain, too afraid to order another one.
I have one of these ATS20+ DSP radio receiver but the one i have is a crappy one because it can only receive 1 radio station. I either need a seperate shortwave radio wire antennas to receive radio station because the included BNC antenna only receives strong stations! You can better get yourself one of those Raddy RF750 shortwave radios that also receives FM AM and SW. the ATS20+ is crap! Avoid it!
I had to watch your video twice, to be sure, to be sure.
Well done Geoff, you're a real hero 👏

Looks like my bench at home in the loft.
MD your loft bench looks like mine with no room on it.
I have to do some serious tidying up over Christmas so I can finish the other stuff that's only half done!
I know, the place is a mess.
Good man Ojnoj, within 10 minutes of getting it out of the box the lid is off to have a squint inside 🤣
Only way Gerry 💯
There are so many different factories that has made these radios and there are so many different things that are different from each factory.
Big FT8 tones when you went through 7.077. Curious - do you have an Amateur Licence?
I do, but rarely use it.

Yes, all that is over my head but I believe that they are very hackable.

Can it pick up air traffic in the UK?
is the audio good enough to decode digital modes? RTTY, FT8...
I haven't checked, but probably not.

I ordered one from eBay for about $35
Much easier than for me than from Walmart.
