Twin Peaks indeed but easily one of the best dance tunes of all time in my humble opinion, grew up with this and The Shamen amongst many any classic dance acts!!
A fast bpm beat, simple piano chord progression, and bits of sampled female vocals = 90s house music. Nothing better....what a joyous era for music....
@dellwright1407The original comment was 12 years before nikkipachecos comment. I think that's what was being referred to, not that they thought Go was 12 yrs old
I had a playlist of tons of classic beats when I went to Warsaw last summer, and this was one of them. I'm so glad that I stuck to that playlist the whole time. Not only was it perfect for Warsaw, with the architecture and transportation, but it also ingrained those memories in my mind. I remember hearing this song while riding the streetcars past all these 1940s classical apartments then ascending into soviet blocks. So damn good.
Correct. It marked the dawn of the techno/house/electronic revolution...circa Cape Town, 1991. Little did I know how privileged I was to be part of it.
Hi Moby. | am a big fan of your work. When the House Scene erupted in the netherlands early 90s, this song was notorious on how it hypnotized clubgoers. and still today, when i hear it. i has not lost its power and withstands the zeitgeist. in a 100 years, people will still be dancing on Go So many remixes have been made by othter artists and i am glad they all did. imho a selfrespecting Artist has to remix Go. ( Like they have to remix Flash by Green Velvet.) i purchased most of the remixes via beatport and created a 35 minute remix of Go. just for my own pleasure. no sweat, i will not try to make money on your behalf. Thank you for the music
Any of you who were fans of 'Twin Peaks" will hear the theme in this song...but trust me, I'm not taking away from this song, I'm complimenting this man. I LOVE the GO cd...Moby is a musical GENIUS.
I still have my Remix CD of this album. I was in a Record Town in the mall. I remember asking my parents. If I could get this, my dad didn't care. So when I put in my cd player. I was blown away at this song. Been listening ever since. I was into the rave, techno scene. Was getting tired of main stream music. People like Altern 8, 808 State, Adamski, Depeche Mode, Ministry, NIN. Where it was at for me. I had my electronic drum pad, and key board. In my room for hours, having a blast.
This song is a classic of our generation. And to think, this was the last song he put on that album and it's the one track he hated the most. Thank the the stars he didn't release it.
I REMEMBER HEARING THIS FOR THE FIRST TIME IN 1991 AT A UNDERGROUND IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA I CHANGED MY LIFE FOREVER . THANK YOU. I SEEN YOU PLAY THE FASTEST SONG
I'm getting old now and my body hurts most of the time BUT when I was in my mid 20s I sure had a good time with this music 95 - 96 - 97 - 98 being the best memories and years , I have no regrets .😊
Kids today need to listen to good techno from the 80s and 90s and make something today that isn't garbage. Cannot even listen to the music made today. Bring techno back with flare.
@@FreakinRican6969that’s the point: we have to look harder. Back then great music was the norm. Of course there are great artists nowadays but they’re not given space to shine.
at the time of release you could find many older heads saying the same thing about this song, it was garbage and they couldn't even listen to this crap. this was an evolution of music from their prime that was new and unfamiliar. it broke new grounds. it lead us to where we are today. music now is an evolution from this and if we are lucky it will always continue. that being said this is one of my all time favorite tracks and allowing myself to indulge in a bit of closed mindedness, i agree with you 100% minus the flare because wtf is even that?

by far his best track ever....moby's done alot of great things but this is timeless.... i know people who don't even like this type of music or even like moby and they think this track rocks
the song keeps saying "yeeeeeeaah, GO!", which, IMO, represents how good it is to get away. the "yeeaah" shows how satisfacting it is, and the "go" means that you have to leave now, forget about bad stuff.
Back in the 90's I found a compilation cd with this song on it. Only years later did I come to find out every song was by Moby and each song had a different group name. The record company wanted to look like it had signed a bunch of different artists for a compilation.
This was the best clubbing era, hands down. I feel sorry for the kids of today. They'll never know the purity of the 90s rave scene and even early 2000s
The surrealism of this video is WAY TOO COOL. I hope to someday become good enough with computer animation to do this kind of stuff. What I envision would be enough to make Salvador Dali and Rob Zombie wrap ME in a straight jacket.
Its Jamie Davies I was from Romania mate. I was from Bucharest the capital city of Romania. I live in the UK now and I love this tune to bits mate it awesome. Take care.

early nineties, outlaw parties,
dance all night,
turn tables in the garage...
such good times!

Ahh the memories are flooding back. Words cannot describe how good it was.
one of the best dance tracks of its time. the floor was always crowded when this started to spin.
Turn the lights out, close my eyes and I’m transported back to a dark, hot, sweaty dance floor in a club in the mid 90s..❤❤❤
In the UK?
Takes me back to the 90',MTV party zone, late at a Friday night, dancing in the living room alone with my headphones.

Just because you can’t listen to todays music doesn’t mean there aren’t good artists out there 🤷♂️
Just have to look a little harder
I highly recommend Chris Stussy’s remix of this, the extended version on RUclips.
