    Been trying to achieve this using the pitchshifter effect and quad delays for years. Glad to see it finally implemented. It's as essential as a compressor in my opinion.

    A much awaited feature - thanks 👍 Just wonder if we could have a switcher to select which side of the stereo field gets the delayed and the non-delayed channel at some stage in the future.

    I think it would be much better if you could load two different setups for the left and the right side. This just seems to use the haas effect and sounds washed out and untight.

  • @Unicorngoulash
    @Unicorngoulash 2 года назад

    Is this just applying the haas effect which could just as well be done with delay or is there some more mojo to it ?

    • @novaray3405
      @novaray3405 2 года назад

      Fair question! Cause also in the video when the DT is activated I kinda feel, the orientation moves to the left. So it feels like the left signal is louder. But I think its just the haas effect so we feel the right side is lower volume. This would be not really good.

  • @skilletfan17

    Total noob question...my equalizer doesn't have this and I have never updated it since buying it in 2020, I though I downloaded everything necessary for both rig manager and the operating system (Mac OS X) and not only does my rig manager refuse to show anything (like no local library or anything, even though I can see rig packs downloaded onto my computer), but I also can't open the software update from the Kemper site (in a binary file that no app that I've downloaded works to open it). I manually connected my stage to my laptop via USB and it even says when I check for updates that it is up to date, which is clearly false since I don't have this new effect in my equalizer section. Can you help me?

    Very nice, but how do I morph it? There is no parameter which shut down the complete fx. F.e. I'd like to have a double tracked rhytm sound when morph pedal is closed and a solosound without this double track fx but with delay when morph pedal is full open. Atm this is not possible. But the fx itself is very cool. Thank you kemper for the free updates!

    • @wordsasweapons87
      @wordsasweapons87 3 года назад

      Could you just automate the volume parameter. I guess I’m not clear if it’s controlling the overall signal or just the volume of the doubled part?

    I may be missing something, but doesn’t the stereo widener do something really similar?

    • @vapenshred
      @vapenshred 2 года назад +1

      I thought that as well? Hmmmm.

    • @bladerunner12
      @bladerunner12 2 года назад +1

      I believe the stereo widener just applies eq and slight modulation effect to each channel which is kind of like a half-measure. Other software double trackers will also modulate microtonal pitches and add slight random delay to more accurately simulate a second track. Previously the best way to approximate a double tracker on Kempers was to combine Stereo Widener with a Stereo Delay. It got close to the desired effect but this seems closer, plus it frees up an effect slot.

    Like usual with kemper its a little to late. It took 10 years for them to come out with this? I got tired of waiting for good up dates. I sold mine and bought an axe fx3, it is so much better than the kemper. Fractal has updates all the time and this doubletracking has been on fractal for years.

    Does it work as a doubler making the sound wider?
    Yes.👍
    Does it sound as good as my Keeley 30ms ADT?
    Definitely not.🤥
    My conclusion;
    Kemper WITH pedals are still the best option for me.

  • @miked9000
    @miked9000 2 года назад

    Seems a little pointless, given both signals are the exact same amp/settings.
    Can already do this with a simple stereo delay, or a pitch shifter that can split sides with the individual harmonies.
    For all thats worth, just reamp the dry signal with a little delay or whatever you like on the other side.
    Hell, you could just run the whole riff, or song, thru the looper, and play on top of it, and modulate it any way you want.
    I love the features on my Kemper, but this is like a "problem", that already has a lot of answers.

  • @sonidojamon
    @sonidojamon 2 года назад +2

    After years of waiting for something like this from Kemper, it's just a modulated delay and/or Haas effect, with no stereo balance and NOT MONO compatible.
    You've just released a subtle chorus, guys. What a joke. Seriously, everyone else, play this video in mono and hear the horror. Helix does it better (still, not quite right), and the digital reference for this should be what TC Electronic Mimiq does. It's still about delays and pitch, but the algorithm uses uneven/random increments/jumps, so it simulates a slightly "lagged" double track/play-along guitarist WAAAY better.. Everything else is just "stereochorusy" Van Halen tones. Kind of old, right? I don't think it is a matter of CPU processing power (as it is with pitch-shifting). Just a matter of engineering skills on digital processing designs. Delay, LFO modulation, and one-side polarity flipping JUST DON'T WORK.
    Don't call it "double tracker", and it'll be fine.
    There are plenty of DAW plugins that use different digital algorithms and are totally mono-compatible. Leapwing StageOne, Wider, etc.
    OR you can easily split the signal into many eq bands (let's say 20), with transparent crossovers, and alternatively, pan to L and R, and that will perfectly work in stereo. That's just 1 simple (and better) approach. Or try 2 different impulse responses (from different brands) of the same cabinet/speaker/microphone combination. That alone works better.
    But check this one: You can sample whole rig response with a phase inverted signal going through (that's what kemper does best, right?, that makes the speakers work differently, and then switch back the polarity and mix with an identic un-flipped sampled chain (so both are in-phase) Asymmetric clipping preamps in the chain also help. No phase cancellations, no delay tricks (and thus, no modulation), and completely transparent mono compatibility.
    Do some research before bringing a 30-year-old trick to the table. It's a shame that "all-in-one" state-of-the-art modeling devices don't put more effort into this, and also into Polyphonic Pitch-shifting. It's ridiculous. We spend more than a thousand bucks on one of these modeling beasts and end up forced to use external pedals like Micro Pog and Mimiq. Forget about a travel-friendly pedalboard or rig that fits in a backpack. It's absurd.

      Your right. It seems to be a very poor approach and I am starting to think about selling both of my Kemper Amps....

    • @DropDee44
      @DropDee44 Год назад

      I dont really get the problem here? Cant you just turn of the double tracker and have it mono then? Also, maybe they just wanted to give a quick solution to people who dont want to have the hassle of fiddling with delays and shit but rather just activate this and be happy? I'd much rather just throw this effect on and move on and play instead of painfully have to deal with manually setting this up. I find this to an awesome addition in terms of quality of life.

    how many hours will you spend before you realize it's a crappy system created by a keyboard player to squeeze money from guitar players by sending them to the rabbit hole with too many options. if the system was complete you wouldn't buy preset packs all the time. good luck with the kab....
