I waited to get a Kemper until they made an easy floorboard…now it’s my go to processor for all studio / live work. It’s sounds great, super easy to use, and has everything you need to build a professional guitar rig for any situation. Great job Kemper!
This is the way it's done - in-depth Tutorial that makes deciosion between the two or three units! Well done KEMPER! A huge lesson for Fractal people, who are sitting, counting money, and waiting for the users to make tutorials on their behalf!

@Kase Castiel I really appreciate your reply. I found the site thru google and Im trying it out now. Looks like it's gonna take quite some time so I will reply here later with my results.
Decided I was done with schlepping amps, cabinets, pedalboards, etc. Tired of the issues and inconsistencies that went with them. The Kemper made this a quick and easy transition for me. In one case, I have all of the amps, cabinets, pedals, or effects that I could ever want or need. What I don’t have is a sore back, patch cables, dead batteries, multiple power supplies, signal chain issues, etc. Sure, you could spend a lot of time figure all of the bells and whistles, but it’s basically ready to rock as so as you unbox it. Plug in your guitar, tune it, choose an amp rig, then rock on.
I don't know what's putting me off. Something scares me about that scenario and I don't know why. I must heed your advice and sell my amp and pedals and just buy one haha. So you have some sort of cab you use for rehearsing or anything?
It's great to see Kemper heading in the route of profiling Pedalboards like many other companies are aiming at. Just wish their design was more dynamic and utilised a larger colour touch screen. A bit boring, but like Kemper heads. The sound and profile available to the player are some of the best you will ever get. May consider replacing my power rack version for this for easier transportation
Thanks for the demo. I've never had a chance to get my hands on one. It's a lot to learn, but the sounds are amazing. I'm definitely considering getting this unit. It has way more than I need, but it would be nice to have a ton of amps without the cost, the space and the volume it would take to enjoy in real life.
I had a Kemper “toaster” and loved the tones but got rid of it and got a Fractal AX8 which I’ve been happy with. Main reason I got rid of the Kemper and went for the AX8 is that the AX8 is a stand alone floor unit and it has an excellent software editor to do all the tweaking. If only this new Kemper had a companion software editor. That’s probably a deal killer for me. I’ll stick with the AX8 for now.
Axe-FX and Helix sales just TUMBLED! Cliff must be shitting himself just like he did in 2011 when the Kemper was announced! 8 years later and he still hasn't figured out how to get the Axe-FX to sound and feel like the Kemper...and of course, Profiling...something the Axe will never be able to do!
the friedman ir x is the new kemper slayer designed by evh's personal tech and one of the best amp builders today not a keyboard player ,with real tubes and great tones out of the box easy to use .sounds way better and more natural than any modeler could ever sound, can work with your favorite effects and with a power amp and speaker and has an effects loop .
If you've been living on the moon for the past few years, the "MB" that's in all the profiles is for Michael Britt, simply the best supplier of 3rd party profiles & no surprise this official Kemper video uses them exclusively.
I came across a bit of an issue, I’m using a power amp without a master volume plugged into the monitor output, and the monitor volume control/eq has no effect on the amp, only master volume does. What am I doing wrong?
Just got my stage (used) a few days ago. Found a profile and used it live last night. Amazing! Sounds like a legit amp through FOH and my IEM's were perfect. No regrets!
@@UptempoMusicLessons I removed a little bit of high end and reduced the presence slightly on my high gain settings and it sounds great in my IEM mix. It's a constant reminder to me that the quest for the ultimate tone is dependent upon many factors, and it changes from venue to venue. Room size, shape, number of heads in the crowd all change the FOH sound. At least I can leave that up to the engineer. We run our own board as a band for our stereo IEM's and control them ourselves, so that part is relatively consistent.
Looks great. Maybe a bit complex for my taste. They did well though; seems a reasonable price for what it does, new item, Kemper. Going to make a lot of Kemper users very happy. At this point, Fractal FM3 is on my agenda.
Its all great but how the hell do i assign a certain effect into a footswitch? I just want to create a board with it why cant i do that? Please will someone tell me
Bonjour. Je suis en possessions d'un Kemper stage. Je voudrais brancher un louper de type BOSS RC10 Merci de me dire si cette option peut être envisageable. Merci de me préciser comment brancher ce type de pédale qui contiens des pattern de batterie. Merci par avance
I've been trying for two days to hear any delay and I can't get it. I can't hear it when setting it up as described and you change the video subject before telling us where to "enter" what we just did
Dear friends at Kemper, I'm planning on buying the Kemper stage later today, but I still have some questions about it. I hope you can help your fellow musician. Here they are: 1. Can I change the position of an effect in the chain? 2. Can I put an effect in serial or parallel? 3. When profiling an amp, do I need to use a noise gate? As you may know, Marshall JVMs are quite noisy in high gain situations. 4. Since power tubes give that extra grit, do I need to profile the amp at high volumes? 5. Does the unit have a wah? If so, when connecting an expression pedal, the effect is already engaged in the preset or do I need to switch it on like a Crybaby?
1) Yes 2) Yes 3) No 4) Yes 5) Yes, dozens of Wah models. Load a Wah into FX slot #1, set the Wah settings to however you want it to engage, heel down, heel up, touch, etc.
With "stage" in the name you'd think ppl would figure what this is for. I guess some need a complete studio for live use..we're talking about stage functionality and sound quality..as far as amp profiling, there are TONS of free profiles I could never top.
How different headrooms of Head and Stage may affect the sound especially if using SPDIF? Is there DAC to outputs and then ADC to SPDIF or SPDIF is just simply digital output from the digital core? I watch a video where Stage is compared to Rack and Rack sounded fatter with less clarity. People in the comment section preferred Rack for its fatness.
Hello, is there anyone who could help? I just bought Kemper Profiler Stage alongside Mission Pedal. I made connection exactly like in the video. I changed settings exactly the way it was explained and set my pedal to be volume when OFF and Wah Wah when ON. Mono switch works pefectly and volume when OFF as well. But Wah Wah is not working. Pedal jusr doesn't do anything. Has anyone else experienced something like that? How did you solve the problem? Best regards.
Since there is no mic input on the Stage unlike the others, do you need to use an external mic preamp to profile or can you just plug a mic into the Return1 TRS that is indicated in the details of this video ?
Hi I just Got the Kemper Stage at first i notice that there was a Vai Wah and other types now i only see wah wah low pass etc.... and other types of Chorus now they gone how can i get that back, is there is a pack for effects? Please help. Thank you
Sorry maybe I missed it in the video, but how do you power the kemper? I have a markbass mark little 800w tube bass amp, will this power the profiler? Thanks in advance 🙏
This is all well and lovely, but I was just recently thawed out from cryo sleep since 1978 and there's just too much tech for me to be able to learn and comprehend. The train left the station without me. Sad for me. 🙁
Que bafle o altavoces estás utilizando para sacar el sonido? Es impresionante como suena... What baffle or speakers are you using to get the sound out? It's awesome how it sounds ...
Los perfiles llegan a emular cabezal + pantalla microfoneada, es el sonido directo del kemper. He escuchado perfiles del kemper mucho más impresionantes eh
Yes, it has all the capabilities (including Profiling) as the Kemper head and rack Profilers. The specific connections and instructions will be detailed in the Kemper Profiler Stage user's manual. The Profiling Process is the same on all devices, so you can just refer to the Kemper Profiling Guide manual, for that info.
Thank you for the amazing videos can you please make a video on how to make a profile with the kemper stage step-by-step we really need that thank you so much God bless
This vs a Powerhead? Curious of your thoughts. Since this doesn't have a power section (it would be annoying to still lug around an amp as well as adding this) and I don't feel like making presets on a floor unit. The Powerhead seems more practical?
You can get a pedal size power amp like this for example www.thomannmusic.com/electro_harmonix_44_magnum_power_amp.htm im not a Kemper user, but ive been thinking of downsizeing to a pedalboard and an power amp like this from my rack with tube power amp. There are other makers of similar amps as well, Harley benton, hotone and mooer is availible at Thomann at least. I wouldnt want the powered version anyway since its 600 watt and risk blowing my 1960´s 100watt 4x12.
hi considering buying a profiler stage because i like the idea of the units capabilites (the obvious profiling feature, library of sounds out of the box, etc) but im still very confused about one aspect. does it need a power amp? ive see old bandmates plug their axe fx rack and floor units directly into a cab; sounded great (no power amp) and was also able to split the output between his cab and the PA to use the cab as a personal monitor to feel and hear it at his back. im totally lost when it comes to this new tech. every forum i read is dudes obsessing over which power amp is best which is most neutral idk. is it even needed? is it a preference thing? does this work similar to axe fx in regard to it being able plug into a cab and play? thank you for taking the time to read this :) (also im going to use it for like proggy animals as leaders stuff if this makes a difference at all. spanky crystal clear shimmery cleans to tight punchy 8 string meshuggah rythmns)
Also is ok to use regular instrument cables to plug it in a cab or do I need to use speaker cables? Again I know little to nothing about the functionality of this unit and similar offerings on the market so please excuse my questions if they come off as stupid lol
Michitarre, I stopped using an amp and speakers. I only use the Kemper. One output cable to the board. Since we use powered monitors, I run a cable from my monitor out to the monitor.
It's not an amp but an amp sim, so you'll need active speakers, not passive speakers. You could stick an amp between the stage and a cab, but the point is that the stage does not have an amp built in.
don't worry too much man. at least you've got powered outputs, and don't have to break your back every time you wanna adjust something by hand. 😂 I'm more than happy with my unpowered head and separate remote. at least if someone spills a beer on my pedalboard I can still continue the gig without foot controls.
@@TheCleansingx yeah that's what I'm saying, the powerhead is nice because you can use it with passive and active speakers without a separate poweramp. thinking of installing a camplifier in my unpowered toaster model. a lot of people on the Kemper groups are getting annoyed over this product but I think it's good to have multiple choices. I think this will be a good choice for gigging musicians, who more than likely already have a poweramp
Don't worry! The power head is going to be Very useful. I've got mine and I end up using in rehearsals and some live concerts which there are cabinets available. Get the remote and be happy.
I feel like all devices take awhile to learn. It seems like the presets and profile packs are so good, the time you would spend is equivalent to the time it would take to get another product's presets to sound useable. I bought an HX Stomp. The presets were shitty. I had to learn the flow AND scrap all of the original presets. This seems to have great sounds out of the box
It has two modes: normal and bubble (not shown on this video). On the normal one if the bars are moving from right to left the pitch of that string is too low. If the bars move from left to right is too high. May sound confusing, but when you're using it is quite intuitive. If it's still confusing you have the bubble mode. Ps: While being in tuner mode a number is also shown on the bottom of the screen telling you how many semitones above or below the reference pitch the string is :)
it was 2019..... Kemper still thought that mankind does without an audio interface... P.S.color display... YES SHURE . THE SOUND is main feature! BUT....2019........2019 Сarl.... FRIENDLY interface and EASIER way - keys to hearts of consumer!!!!
If you read the Kemper Profiler Stage description, on Kemper's website, you would understand that the high contrast, very bright LCD gray scale display was deliberately selected so that the display can be easily seen, even in direct sunlight. As it is not a touch-screen, nor does the Kemper UI depend on a color screen, and visibility in all lighting conditions is the priority...most reasonable people couldn't give a f@$k that it does not use a color display.
@@raingrow845 Yuriahn, I would say that it would be better to purchase an external, dedicated USB Audio Interface, with quality mic preamps, from a manufacturer that specializes in such devices, such as UAD, Focusrite, Apogee, Motu, etc.
lol, guitarist psychology! A big colour screen with images that depict an FX pedal that you can move around by touching it makes it sound better. Like the decal on a headstock that says Gibson or Fender means it's a better guitar! Every guitar dealer in the world is sold out of Kemper 'Stage' units, thousands sold in the first week and you're talking about "consumers". :)
@@deltafit Better display, better interface, easier live editing, smarter foot-switch display (designated colors, effect name) with 10 switches for stomp-box mode - comparing to the Kemper that only has 4. Colored lights for easy identification of effects when playing in dark scenarios, snapshots, touch sensitive switches for quick effect access, view and editing, easy to operate editing computer software, bigger community for presets sharing, can run 2 amps at the same time, and… …it includes an expression/volume pedal - still $100 cheaper. Line6 just release the 2.8 firmware, and it’s even better.
@@victorsantiago7391 you aren't wrong! I think Kemper has missed a big opportunity with this device... it is simply their current profiler and remote placed into one enclosure (which people have been requesting for years), with no significant new functionality. If they had looked at what the competition is offering and used that as the bar that they needed to meet or beat, this would have been a much better product, and it would have gained them a lot of new users. This seems like too little / too late.
Yes, there are a group of people who prefer shiny, color displays and scribble strips over having a completely accurate and authentic recreation of a specific amp's tone and feel, including industry leading effects. Cats like shiny objects as well.
You've obviously never played a Kemper for a week and then gone back and plugged into a Helix or Headrush...then you'll understand... Fancy lights, fancy screens, no Profling, and shit dry harsh tone.
press this press that , thousand presses per preset adjustment, and what if a button starts not to function ? pay a ton of money to fix it , beacuse is a kemper ? i ll pass!
So bad design for the interface and all the buttons, is complicated, unresanable, too much uneccersery knob and old design. Is just like the better sound vertion of boss gt1000 but worse interface compare to boss gt1000. Just look for the helix, much better design and simple to use.
Crap display for this price, Kemper need to get real against Fractal, Line6, Moer. This alone would delete this from being a worthwhile buy! I would fire the designer responsible for the display!b. The UI is too fiddly 2. Last but not least FX is less comprehensive plus where all the competitions says what you get, Kemper says you can profile anything, but doesnot advertise what comes with it, except profiler as does Fractal and Mooer. MUST BE AIMED AT EXISTING KEMPER CUSTOMERS. I shall continue with my order for Fractal FM3.
Check sales of the 'Stage' over the last two weeks and check sales of the Fractal over the same period...there's your answer right there. :) Then decide what's "real" and what's not "real". :)))
@@CrazyDiamond1968 Sales has nothing to do with design or spec for me. The FM3 is yet to be available so sales is not a good argument right now. Michitarre, I stopped using an amp and speakers. I only use the Kemper. One output cable to the board. Since we use powered monitors, I run a cable from my monitor out to the monitor.
Effect Loop 15:34
The stage is powered?
How do I set an FX button to momentary?
So you get this amp plug in guitar and it plays out of your speakers?? No extra amp or head needed
It's not an amp but an amp sim, so you'll need active speakers, not passive speakers. You could stick an amp between the stage and a cab, but the point is that the stage does not have an amp built in.
This week my powerhead arrives and this product gets released now???
don't worry too much man. at least you've got powered outputs, and don't have to break your back every time you wanna adjust something by hand. 😂 I'm more than happy with my unpowered head and separate remote. at least if someone spills a beer on my pedalboard I can still continue the gig without foot controls.
@@LordGrayHam Yea, but you can connect to any cab. It's nice to have even if you don't always use it.
Root For Comedy same!!!
STEEEEEEEP LEARNING CURVE!!!
About 2 hours. That's how long it took me.
How do u adjust different volumes between rigs you need to sound louder without the “rig volume” knob?
Press the "Rig" button, rig volume is right there.
This is a bit complex.. Is there a computer editor? If not, then that's a deal breaker..
The editor is out at the end of Summer.
@@carlhardwickofficial great! Now am considering this :)
Chris Rafael Agreed. If the editor is somewhat intuitive.
Could you put timestamps in for this video?
Excellent !!!
Where did the noise-suppression knob go?
it is part of the input menu now
Awesome, it's the 80's all over again! 🤦🏻♂️
Epic
Awsome!
Does the the Profiler Stage support backups from a Rack Profiler?
Yes it does so long as both devices are using the same OS version.
Thanks!
💚
How to read the tuner on the display?
It has two modes: normal and bubble (not shown on this video). On the normal one if the bars are moving from right to left the pitch of that string is too low. If the bars move from left to right is too high. May sound confusing, but when you're using it is quite intuitive. If it's still confusing you have the bubble mode.
Ps: While being in tuner mode a number is also shown on the bottom of the screen telling you how many semitones above or below the reference pitch the string is :)
The tuner takes up the whole display.
can you guys do it in spanish please!!!
Stop complaining
Just be happy, buy it and make music or Don’t buy it and move on with your life.
how connect kemper in amps head FRIEDMAN RUNT WHIT BOX RUNT
Dimensions?
Dimensions: 47 cm (w) x 26 cm (d) x 8,5 cm (h) / 18.5" (w) x 10.24" (w) x 3.35" (h)
Weight 4.6 kg / 10.14 lbs
I see people are already ordering new pedal boards for this :D
it was 2019.....
@@Deuterium2H , what U may say about USB?
Love it. But now I need a power amp for it.
Sweet jesus cant you Guys make a pc editor ? This Seems like a major hassle
they already presented it on NAMM I believe! there are some videos of it. it should be released sometime soon I suppose
Teea Dm Nice ! 👍🏻
Is that power amp?
Now I love my Helix even more
Why?
Sorry to hear.. no one is perfect. All the Helix owners are here to see what they missing out on :-)
Yes, there are a group of people who prefer shiny, color displays and scribble strips over having a completely accurate and authentic recreation of a specific amp's tone and feel, including industry leading effects. Cats like shiny objects as well.
So I guess this Kemper Profier Stage can't profile an amp, that upsets me very much.
apparently it can profile: www.kemper-amps.com/stage
@@Usher76 that would be nice, and the price is even cheaper
22:39 LOL that jean shoe combo....
it's not a Profiler, for me is a backup gear
Gallus Electronics it is a profiler
I don’t see mic input
@@steveray83 check video's description. Kemper updated it.
Ok! Thanks
Great sounds. Shit design layout. Helix layout is so simple. They should take note from them
Jesus Christ that’s a lot of buttons and a screen from a hd500
cost ?
Tim Morris 1600€
Display is from 1980 and interface is from 1969. This embarassing☹️ Check the Line6 Helix or Headrush.
You've obviously never played a Kemper for a week and then gone back and plugged into a Helix or Headrush...then you'll understand... Fancy lights, fancy screens, no Profling, and shit dry harsh tone.
and this is why Helix wins. user interface.
press this press that , thousand presses per preset adjustment, and what if a button starts not to function ? pay a ton of money to fix it , beacuse is a kemper ? i ll pass!
throw the rack
Technologi
I just can't bring myself to like the design.
So bad design for the interface and all the buttons, is complicated, unresanable, too much uneccersery knob and old design. Is just like the better sound vertion of boss gt1000 but worse interface compare to boss gt1000.
Just look for the helix, much better design and simple to use.
SPANISH POR FAVOR ! PLEASE!
The long awaited rig manager and now this display put me off it. There are Kemper lovers and Fractal fanatics. I dont have either and about to enter the modeller market with the low end FM3.
