And Ravel, this infinitely enchanting mystic.
For me, Ravel will always be the sorcerer of music. There is always something magical about his music, and this score superbly delineates it. Bravo to Conductor and Orchestra for so fully falling under his spell.

You are so right! It was Maurice Ravel who made of me a lover of classical music. This was still at school and more than 45 years ago.
This is such a standout performance, such a loving realization of the tenderness, awe and wonder of one of Ravel's most exalted orchestral works.
Ravel was just a genius, there is none of his music that I don't like and a lot that I adore. This piece falls very much into the second category.
Ravel’s orchestration amazes me.
Ravel can exquisitely capture what I remember was for me my first childhood experiences of reverie.

In the 3rd movement, at number 10, the Celesta solo plays 2 measures earlier, it should have been played as a canon with the clarinet solo.
The full ballet score should be played more often. It's only 6 or 7 minutes longer than the Suite.
When i was young, i felt thrilled when i heard last part ' le jardin feerique'
