The best initiative by BMTC and BTP. when you can cut down from 1hour to 20min travel time, why do you need Ola's and Uber. This will, in fact, increase the usage of Public transport and as buses are running 2X faster, they can run at a higher frequency to serve their passengers. Two-Wheelers should cooperate and not use the dedicated lane for the bus. Bunch of idiots who do that should be fined, that's when they will understand. Service lanes should be used for Taxis and Auto for Pickup. This is a kind of development we want to see, and so many of them are totally against it.

Yeah i guess at every 1 km end if they make a opening to join the main road it ll be very useful for ola n autos!
I suggest this is a perfect lane dedicated to buses only n we can allow auto n taxi s to enter this lane but at end of 1 or 2 km if there's a opening let them go onto the main road so that it ll be easy! Honestly 2 wheelers n auto try to go every where in fact even in wrong lanes, be cooperative n allow others to move too, if it's a successful venture n ppl follow lane discipline n if more ppl use metro n public transport it ll be easy for us to reach our destination every day i m sure many r cribbing n driving to work places it's waste of time

Well said. Ola Uber and Auto can use service road. We can't satisfy everyone. Priority lane fosters the usage of public transport. This is a mess due to improper planning by our greedy, stupid politicians. I don't blame the engineers, because politicians always have their way.

The bus lane can only work if it is completely separated from the other lane, so that two-wheelers and autos don't get onto the lane. Bollards and tape is not good enough. I remember when the white topping was done and one lane was raised higher than the other two. This made sure that the vehicles on that lane stayed on THAT lane alone and not change lanes to get ahead. If autos/cabs have to pick up/drop, let them use the service roads, which I know exist between this stretch, for that.

Which vehicles want to stop in ORR should use SERVICE ROAD. So people can get down in service road. Why to stop in middle of ORR .

I am surprised no one brought it up. But isn’t the bus lane on the wrong side? According to city planners if there are bus lanes in a city, they should be closest to the dividers and the overall metropolitan transit infrastructure should be constructed accordingly.
The problems of cabs and office shuttles not able to stop on the left and instead stopping dangerously in the middle will always be encountered in the current plan.

Since last 2 months, I'm travelling from Whitefield to HSR BDA. On average It takes 1 hour from Marathahalli (10 AM) to HSR.
The main problem is Ecoworld and Ecospace. There's a huge number of vehicles waiting on the ORR to get into the service road. This traffic leads almost till Marathahalli.
Even after the bus lane, this is the daily story. If this can be avoided, may be bus lane is not at all necessary.

People need to understand lane discipline and respect the safety and time that's when any good initiative will be successful.

This may going to be failed....
Because of bus lane developed both the side lanes...so crossing road for walking ppl not easy...its affects bus speed.....plus many two wheelers and cars passing from it....plus lane is not fully separated from main road ... only small pillers after some distances....
Bus lanes should be in center....both up & down lane...so basically two lane road should be developed in center as bus lane...
In Ahmedabad it was introduced first in country in 2008...most successfully running today with regular updates...more than 150 km stretches developed here as bus lane...here bus lane is in centre...so no crossing issues....plus bus lane is fully covered and sepratrd with proper steel grills both side throughout the road with crossing cuts at bus stops... not every where....so no other vehicles can enter in it...plus strict traffic rules and cameras there to find who enter in it....so hardly single vehicles enter in it....so here buses are going almost 50-60 kmph ....so it's really cut down traveling time.... received many International awards....
Then after success story of Ahmedabad many cities in India accepted this....so Surat... Rajkot... Indore...Bhopal...Pune ..Delhi... Amritsar...
Surat...rajkot...Indore .... Bhopal ... Amritsar... designing very much similar to Ahmedabad design as they develop on Ahmedabad Basis....so they are also successfully implemented & running....
Pune .... Delhi became failed as they not separate bus lane properly like here in Bangalore....they seprated lanes only by white painted lines on road...plus not strictly traffic management....so ppl not following it...and everyone coming in that lane....plus in Pune it's in both end side same like Banglore...
When you made it both end side lane.... it's create many issues....road crossing issues...ppl parking issues...city bus & other buses stop always end lanes....auto stoping here to take passangers...some car vehicle has to turn left /right so they entering in this lane....shops are end side....so ppl rush is more in end lane....so this is bad idea.....it must be in center.....as per indian traffic...indian condition in practicality...

Instead of having separate lanes for bus and dividers, the dedicated bus lane can be used as dividers and the problem for ola, uber or auto taxing to pick up or drop commuters can be done like as it is already on the left side of the road. Doing this will not disturb the bus lane at all. Its just that the bus stops will have to be moved to the middle of the road just like Pune and the busses will have to have the facility to board passengers from the right. It requires a hefty investment but if considered and sanctioned, will help reduce traffic for sure cz most of the time its the city busses that obstruct the road in Bangalore
