    I wanted to show you guys the location of the TPMS module on the 2013-2018 Ram 1500 and possible problems with TPMS system. Dealer wanted $600 for a new tire pressure monitoring module and I was told that my had failed. Reality was the technicians never even actually touched it and it was very dirty.
    Symptoms: wheels reading the wrong spot or wheels not showing at all.
    Update: I am working with a few others to try and locate the module on the 2014-18 ram...I’ll post on here when I have that info
    Update: I have searched all over my 2019 Ram and can’t find the tpms module, I also reached out to the dealer and to FCA directly and they wouldn’t give me the location either...I’m going to keep trying to find for you guys.

    I just bought a one owner 2015 ram R/T single cab and I found out through research that dealers are charging upwards of 5 to 6 hundred dollars just to change the spark plugs on one. That’s ridiculous .I’m glad there are guys like you to better educate ram owners and do it yourselfers like me and save us a lot of money at the same time. And changing the plugs on one of these really isn’t that difficult and certainly not worth 6 hundred dollars. Thanks man appreciate your help! 👍🇺🇸🛠

    I put new wheels and tires on my 2024 Power Wagon. 17’ to 20 with 35” and the first thing that happened is the front left tire with the same error message. So it is at Dodge dealer and thank you because I’ll no doubt get that bill you mentioned and I’ll be so much lighter by much more than $600 hundred bucks. At least I have some ammo now to protest this. Thanks.

Said he searched the internet for 45 minutes googling the specific code and couldn’t find anything. I google searched and this was the second video after the dealer video on the TPMS Sensors only. Helpful for off-road drivers!!!

    My 1rst TPMS rig...2500 4x4 diesel... How did they manage to shove shit like this down our throats? Any truck owner with .001% of a brain knows to check tire pressure and not just kick or eye ball it. We went from hot summer to cool fall over night in Kingman, AZ and OF COURSE my TPMS showed a low tire pressure on the left rear. I wish I could get shed of all this shit.
    Good vid...thanks.

    I’ve got 2016 ram sport, with push button. I just got the truck apart and I think your truck is Non button start? If non push button start you have that tpms module but if you do have Push button start tpms is actually doing ALL communication via the RF HUB that is located behind driver rear seat on wall.

    Really good video very intuitive listen other guys on here running the truck from dealer to dealer trying to get that little light to go off when in reality like you said either there’s mud on their modular or they let your tire get low and broke the sensor I had new tires put on and one valve stem was bad in less than an hour my tire was flat I drove it a little bit but broke the sensor the light would never go off until I put a new sensor on no you’re right I need to inform these other guys No you may be just the center they’re trying to reset reprogram and everything they can when they don’t think another sensor could be bad mostly if they let the tire and get Lil anyways thanks for the info to have a good one

    I Don't work for dealers nor independent shops. However $600 to do the work is reasonable. Each sensor installed in a wheel is about $75 and the reciever module installed another $300. They have to do some programming so yeah $600 sounds good. Although only one sensor is bad you know the other 3 will follow or die (they operate on a small battery) so you might as well do all. For most of us cleaning the tpm connector will not solve the problem and for few the problem is going to be the wiring harness. Of course if you can work on cars you should do it yourself. But most cars require a special tool for tpms so you need to buy that for few hundred $$$. I personally think this job is best done at a reputable tire store...they probably know more than dealers and would be cheaper. I HAVE SPOKEN!

    • @scotturich
      @scotturich  3 года назад +2

      The point of the video was the tpms system wasn’t bad, because would have wasted $600 on just module then still had to pay for the sensors in each wheel which would have made it close to $1k. All because the dealer was too lazy to actually figure out why it wasn’t communicating.

    Need some help fam. I have a 2016, 1500 4wd sport. Four years ago I lifted the truck and added 35x12.50. A day later the front left sensor stop reading completely but the other three tires show a psi. Long story short all the sensors at all 4 wheels test fine- I have it checked twice actually. I figure it’s the control module. I get under the truck and the module is nowhere to be found, not even in the location in your video. Does anyone know where else it could be mounted??? FYI disconnecting battery resets everything and all four wheels show a reading, but after 20 miles the front left goes dead again.

      I don’t know if you have or not but have you had the tpms modules in each tire tested, your local tire shop will usually check them for free. The other thing that can be done is to take the battery terminal positive for few hours and see if the system resets good luck

    Can you possibly let me know where the TPMS reset button is located on the 2009 ram 1500?

    Great video! I’ve been having this problem recently and dealer has fixed or reprogrammed for couple times and then finally replaced all sensors and module which took them several days. After all that, same problems. Tpms service required sign shows up and the numbers are not showing. Could it be module or the cpu at the dash? My front end is covered and I don’t go off-roading like you so I doubt that I have any issue of getting it dirty.

      Brian Kim most likely it’s the module because that’s what tells the computer that you have wheel sensors, if it was the dash you would have a host of other problems. Which year do you have 2009-2013 on the front on the 2014-2018 they moved it. Best way to test is to unplug and start the vehicle and go for a drive then shut it back off plug it back in and go for another drive; also that will give you an opportunity to check the connector and make sure that it’s clean going into the module

      Did you figure out what the problem was? My light has also been on and reads 00 on all 4 wheels. Thanks

    My tpms light will come on upon acceleration of 2000 rpms and higher then disappear. All sensors are working properly. Think it's the same thing?

      Definitely sounds like the actual module is having a problem....Mine was the same thing until the light stayed on.

    I've seen things on Google that talk about a TPMS reset switch under the steering wheel, but I haven't found it. Can you confirm if that is true?

    • @scotturich
      @scotturich  Год назад

      As far as I know there was no switch under the steering wheel area. I thought the same thing. When I took mine to dealer I asked them to show me the bad module that was how I found mine

    Scott - good video. I want to run 2 sets of tires (street & A/T) & do not want to buy TPMS's for the 2nd set of wheels. Is there a way to disable the TPMS module?

    • @scotturich
      @scotturich  3 года назад

      There is no way to disable the module sensor whatever wheels don’t have the sensors in them your light be on.
