This is priceless. Excellent work KTN News Kenya. Three corrections/clarifications though: 1. Kenya's Chief Justice at the time Mzee Kenyatta passed away was Sir James Wicks, not Charles James; 2. The announcement that Mzee Kenyatta had passed away was made on Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC) radio, at about 12 noon, 22nd August 1978, not at around 2.00 p.m., 22nd August 1978. In those days, Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC), was known as Voice of Kenya (VOK), which is why Inspector Wambugu above, refers to KBC as VOK. Even then, a good number of Kenyans must have sensed that something was amiss, because as Inspector Wambugu says above, only martial music had been played on Voice of Kenya (VOK) radio from 6:00 a.m. in the morning, Tuesday, 22nd August 1978, till the time the announcement of Mzee Kenyatta's was made at about 12 noon, Tuesday, 22nd August 1978. Voice of Kenya (VOK) was the only radio and television station in Kenya in those days, and there was therefore no option of switching radio stations or television channels, back in those days. On a daily basis back then, VOK radio opened station at 6:00 a.m. in the morning and closed station at 11:00 p.m. at night, and on a daily basis back then, VOK television opened station at 5:00 p.m. in the evening and closed station at 11:00 p.m. at night. Twenty-four (24) hour radio and television did not exist in Kenya back in those days. Voice of Kenya (VOK) radio and television are all we had back in those days, which would have made it even more noticeable back then that something was amiss, given that Kenya, at 6:00 a.m. on Tuesday morning, 22nd August 1978, woke up to nonstop martial music, rather than regular radio programming. As Inspector Wambugu says above, Mzee Kenyatta was "a larger than life figure," and many of us back then could not imagine a Kenya without Mzee Kenyatta. I think one of the the reasons it took about nine hours for the demise of Mzee Kenyatta to be formally announced to Kenya and Kenyans, is the "larger than life stature" that Mzee Kenyatta had. For example, at about 3:30 a.m. in the morning, Tuesday, 22nd August 1978, at State House, Mombasa, Dr. Eric Mngola told Mama Ngina Kenyatta and the then Coast Province, Provincial Commissioner, Eliud Mahihu, that Mzee Kenyatta was "no more." Mahihu then asked Dr. Mngola "Are you sure?" and Dr. Mngola answered "Yes." The contradiction though is that in the months and years prior to his demise on 22nd August 1978, Mzee Kenyatta had been showing signs of failing health, and would sometimes even "disappear" from public for a month, would sometimes even stumble and almost fall in public, so on the one hand, many Kenyans could tell that Jomo Kenyatta was in failing health, yet on the other, the very same Kenyans who could detect that Mzee Kenyatta was in failing health, equally had the same feeling that Mzee Kenyatta would "live forever." As mentioned, Voice of Kenya (VOK) was the only radio and television station in Kenya in those days, and not just that, VOK back then, was fully owned by the Kenya Government, as a result of which VOK radio and television broadcasts were closely censored back then, and only favourable news on the Kenya Government was broadcast on VOK radio and television back in those days. There is therefore no way that VOK radio or VOK television would have reported about Mzee Kenyatta's health challenges back then. If anything, back then, VOK radio and television spoke about "Mzee Kenyatta's busy work schedules" and/or "Mzee Kenyatta's energised and vibrant tours of duty around different parts of the country" There were also no cell phones in those days, and few Kenyans back then owned video cameras, otherwise, had there been cell phones in those days, moments of Mzee Kenyatta showing signs of failing health, sometimes stumbling and almost falling in public, would have been captured on cell phones back then and gone "viral." An example of the censorship of those times is that hours before Mzee Kenyatta passed away on 22nd August 1978, he was at a function at Msambweni Primary School, at Kenya's South Coast, where he collapsed. There must have been a Voice of Kenya (VOK) television crew present at Mzee Kenyatta's last public function before he passed away, but even if VOK television may have captured Mzee Kenyatta collapsing at Msambweni Primay School, there is no way that the footage would have been televised. If VOK television, by any chance, captured Mzee Kenyatta collapsing at Msambweni Primary School, the footage must have been destroyed on the spot. Chances too, are that VOK television once, twice or thrice captured Mzee Kenyatta stumbling and almost falling in public in the months and years before he passed away on 22nd August 1978, and if this may have happened, the footage must have been destroyed immediately. 3. Uhuru Kenyatta was not 18 years old when his father passed away, he was 16 years. Uhuru Kenyatta was born on 26th October 1961. He turned 17 years old on 26th October 1978, and he was still therefore 16 years old when his father passed away on 22nd August 1978. Regards, Michael M. Kamau, Nairobi, 28th February 2024.

No one cares. Discussing dead people does nothing for Kenyans. He died and he has no clue what Kenyans go through and neither does his live son.

Kenyatta was supposed to live forever, but Moi cut off the secret tap of eternal life hidden in Jomo's stomach mysteriously. We need to learn more about Kenyatta's secret of eternal life. Moi must be interrogated!
