- This is one of the best pieces of film I've seen yet. The boycotter's son can be heard asking the Census agents if they know the law - they don't confirm either way to him. The ending is just first class, the best possible ending to this encounter.
Interestingly, when people now call the ONS to find out why they have not been approached about legal action, they are asked, should they been taken to Court, if they intend to plead guilty of not guilty. ONLY THOSE WHO CONFIRM THAT THEY WILL PLEAD GUILTY ARE BEING PROSECUTED!!! Honestly, you couldn't make this up!

You have the right to remain silent, you do not have to answer a single question or put anything in writing, that is the law, any court action on their part must prove you have committed a criminal offence, by not answering questions or putting anything in writing is not a criminal offence therefore no crime has been committed. Their threats of £1000 fines is pure fantasy and used to frighten people into giving information they are not obliged to give. My door will be slammed firmly shut when they come a knocking. Just remember folks, you also have the right to film their faces, they are on your property and you do not need their permission to film.

the minute they say its a criminal investigation you tell them they arent allowed to then caution or interview you and that any criminal interview should be carried out by police only.

The key point to make is Lockheed Martin PROFIT from the Census contract. You do not want to be part of this regardless of whether they see the data or not. The process they want to carry on with is subject to consent that's why they keep asking you to carry on. You do not have to answer a single question they ask, they have as much lawful right to interview you under caution as the postman, they are civilians. I applaud your staying power but I would have shut the door long ago :)

You are in your rights to record anyone on your door step so why on earth are you recording their feet that is pure appeasement by appeasing your are legitimizing that they have a right to question you.
You are allowed to film anywhere in a public place and especially on your own private property, but they must have your permission to film on your property, the person filming also has copyright. Well done gal.
