Guru was a real dude. I met him outside of the Middle east bar in Boston. I was trying to do my thing in the music industry and asked him about it after the show. He set aside time to speak to me and even told all these groupies to chill for a minute while he spoke knowledge. RIP dude.
Ummmmmmmmm I wouldn't say that about Guru, that's a bold statement to make when you have Rakim, Nas and Deck. I am glad Guru did his thing and he made some hellava records and I bought them all, but to say he is the best of all time? Nah brah he can't even come up in that talk like that. RIP Guru.
Gza IMO but Deck was definitely the most underrated by far... I just wish he had the classic solo album the others did :( Uncontrolled was nice though no doubt but the original album got lost in the flood around 95 so he had to re do it.
@@seancagney1369 what always confuses me is that rza said all of the wu solo albums got destroyed, yet he was able to recreate tical/return to the 36 chambers/liquid swords/Cuban linx, and have all of those albums be classics. No bullshit easily top 3 greatest TRUE hip hop songs ever..The beat/ flows/ MC's/ DJ/ The words and their meanings. There's no flaws in this track. I first heard this when I was 13 and when the track first came on, that first milla second I was hooked! Every time I hear or see the word MC, again no bullshit Guru pops right into my head. Another great and truly gifted talent that went way to early. RIP Guru ill make sure your voice will never die or be forgotten.
He's above the clouds now.. raining down.. he's holdin it down. shit hits me like a truck everytime I hear it since the day I first span this record.... peace brother GURU peace brother Premier and peace all!!! God bless
One of the greatest MC's to ever bless the mic. The man truly had "skillz" above and beyond so many others - RIP sir - your body of work is iller than ill!
If hip hop is a culture this is it's religious music. Pure metaphysics, self knowledge and every day truths, to learn and live by. RIP great GURU. Deck forever murdering tracks.
Guru is the greatest MC of ALL TIME. He tells stories not words. He gives messages not influences. He would’ve torn the mic up even if he was still alive.
Guru you brought us the beans we didn't even knew we needed on those turbulent times🌹R.i.P "above the clouds where the sounds are original Infinite skills create miracles" Masterpiece.

Gangstar one of the realest of all time. Never tried to be what he wasn't just spit his heart and his struggle and that's what hip hop should be. Modern hip hop has lost it's identity.
Respect goes out to these three legends. The beat is a masterpiece which is why the lyrics had to go there along with it. My rendition is coming soon. Will put video out in the next month. RIP GURU.
Premo & Guru 2 hall of famers...should both be in the "rock and roll" hall of fame" but who am I kidding? They don't need that status to be great...i know that they dont need that award to show how great they are...i simply use the ear test.
I understood rhythm even when I was a toddler... But! It was definitely Premier beats that conditioned my ears and taught me how Hip Hop should sound, as far as rhythm goes
As a young man I sought for direction from the radio but often seem to be mislead by drugs and destruction being promoted by the majority's appeal from fake artist to faker artist because it's easy to listen to but costly to the mind. I really appreciate the kinds of artist.
this really reminds me of why rap and hip hop should be two distinct things. Hip Hop has a message, personality. Modern Rap delivers superficial and concentrated version of hip hop themes, akin to comparing rock music to pop rock.

James Farrington Yes he is originally from Boston
What a genuine man, RIP Guru, one of the best yet
