- Fighting in the street is illegal, whether you are using martial arts skills to take part in a mutually agreed bout or retaliating to an attack. The Law applies to everyone, with fighting posing a lot of danger to everyone involved, which can end in fatalities. With that being said, life isn't always black and white, and sometimes, running away or avoiding aggression is impossible.

Which martial arts is better in a street fight?
Tkd
Jeet kune do in my opinion..
Ain't none of them the best ain't no such thing it depends on the person how many times I got to say this ain't none of them can't out beat a bullet that's your dame answer 😈
Karate 🥋 because you can learn self defense hard strikes powerful kicks and discipline.
You missed TenShin, Seagal's style of Aikido, which has no rules, uses kicks, punches, blocking, counter attacks, karate techniques, some Taekwondo, and jujitsu grappling.
Obviously you have a bias.
No rules. Fight to win.
You can do any martial without rules. If you do not know any discipline then only chance is luck 🍀
Its more of fight fight survive
Wanna die??
Fight to win but actually not to kill the opponent
You mean, bullets, knives, castates? You need therapy, brother
Achieve excellence so that you outperform the opponent, and trust me, kung fu tiger or wind are sooo satisfying, especially when you get to see the opening and strine full force in wind pipe or solar plexus, even stop the blood flow or consciousness so to speak if you strike certain vital points.
In the street, you need to perceive dangerous situations way in advance to avoid them, you need to stay focused, calm, and avoid confrontation at any cost, don't look weak and afraid but also having a solid and balanced posture and body language without being on guard accepting the fight. You need to have situational awareness 360° and to maintain a safe distance but also close enough to act instantly if required. The best fight in the street is the one you avoid, you don't know if there is a hidden weapon of many more attackers. If you go to the floor you are done, no matter how good you are, you could be beaten to dead by a mob. In the past, I had some situations like the ones I described, when I grew up in south america, and those comments are based on my personal experience.
I trained win-chung, some years ago I was attacked by 19 street thugs with different kinds of weapon it wasn't funny I lost so much blood in a fight that lasted hours. I vowed never to go down unless I'm dying and some of these guys were very huge and brutal. I thank God I survived that attack.

: / NO! IF GET ON THE GROUND, YOU ARE NOT NECESSARILY "DONE"!!!! IF YOU ARE TRAINED IN JUDO OR WRESTLING OR JUJITSU? YOU WILL STOP THE ATTACK ON YOU! YES, OF COURSE IF THERE ARE SEVERAL PEOPLE ATTACKING YOU AT ONCE AND YOU ARE ON THE GROUND BEING BEATEN BY SEVERAL PEOPLE? THAT COULD MAKE MATTERS MUCH MORE INTENSE AND STRESSFUL, BUT! THAT DOESNT MEAN "YOURE DONE"!!! IF YOU ARE TRAINED AND KNOW HOW TO STAY COMPOSED? YOU CAN STILL FIND WAYS TO STOP SEVERAL ATTACKERS. BUT I STRONGLY SUGGEST YOU HAVE A SMALL/ MEDIUM KNIFE SOMEWHERE NEAR TO YOUR MID LEG AREA OR WAIST, SO YOU CAN USE THAT TO HELP YOU ON THE GROUND.. AND I ALSO STRONGLY SUGGEST EVERYONE EXERCISING THEIR 2nd AMENDMENT RIGHT TO PROTECT AND DEFEND THEMSELVES WITH THEIR GUN/S!! HAVING A FULL SIZED GUN ON YOUR UPPER BODY, AND A SMALLER BACK UP GUN ON YOUR ANKLE WHEN YOU CAN, WILL DEFINITELY HELP TO STOP MANY ATTACKERS, EVEN ON THE GROUND.. BUT OF COURSE YOU ALWAYS WANT TO TRY TO AVOID BEING PUT ON THE GROUND, IF YOU DO NOT KNOW ANY WRESTLING, JUDO, OR JUJITSU!!!

One big problem with taking a fight to the ground in a street fight. Is you don't know if the guy your fighting has a friend or a weapon. I never take a fight to the ground.
sure but you can end up there anyway this is what people who say this don't understand
@@BoratfromKazakhstan you confuse me. Why would me saying I never take a fight to the ground mean that I don't understand it can happen?
@@BoratfromKazakhstan There's a clear difference between instigate a fight on the ground and ending up in a fight on the ground..smh
You still need to know the following regardless.
Takedown defense to get a guy off of you. Ground game incase you get taken down.
How to slam someone.
In a 1 on 1 how to go to the ground to avoid getting hit alot.
I said I never take a fight to the ground. I didn't say others have not tried to take a fight to the ground. i've only had a few guys succeed and had no problem choking them out. Now the reality is I've had somewhere around 50 street fights. but none and I mean none of those guys were mma fighters. Most of them are just thugs who think they can fight cuz they are big. My hardest fights have always been with smaller guys. I don't start fights and I'm a pretty easy going guy. My opinion is most people who start fights are not good fighters and feel they have something to prove.
I practiced karate with very impressive high level Tsuroaka sensei. If he were ever caught in a pub or a bar fight, he would leave.
Dojo fight and street fight are totally different.

Amen, brother!
Honestly, Krav Maga can help a lot in the street. Krav Maga is a hybrid combat system mix of many martial arts including boxing, jujitsu, judo, some forms of wrestling, etc.
I think it's the good 1 too, I want to learn it with JKD, and Aikido, I hope I can defend myself well after that!
but the real ones that they teach you that's actual useful are only been taught in the military
In reality when the situation comes you’ll feel the adrenaline rush and learning how to control it is the most important thing.
The best self defense is to recognize everything can be a weapon. Never look away and an extended body part is vulnerable.
studied krav for 5 years. was never a class I took where I came out unscathed. My fondest memory was being the bag holder for kick drills with the 5'1 110lb instructor and having her kick me halfway across the room. I swear half her weight was in her leg muscle
So on a tier of 1 to 10 how much would you recommend krav maga for self defense
@amadeusex3477 10. It's no bullshit and straight to the point. No honor no respect. Only real world scenarios. They pretty much teach that in real fights you either get your ass kicked or you don't. Use whatever you can to win. Eye gouges, nut shots, improvised weapons, disarms, get out of grapples that you'd actually have used on you. You can tell it's designed for street fights
@@longshucksgaming That's because the Israelis deal with wild animals and dogs (Palestinians and Hamas...etc).
@@amadeusex34770 unless taught by Israelis.
I agree that training Lethwei enables one to manipulate a real street fight. It allows the headbutt tactic which is very important when being in a real fight. Some may think that using headbutt can probably be applied automatically without training, or it is just from one's own instinct when fighting to survive. In fact, when we are trained for doing something , we get used to doing it ; and then it becomes our self-instinctual behavior which automatically applies in the real situation. Without training hard on killing method, a good Muay Thai fighter will be considerably disadvantageous when fighting a well-trained killer. Athletic instinct is derived from the training with rules and the athlete even being trained for the octagon cage can be killed easily in a real street fight, despite that the opponent does not have a weapon but is a well-trained one on dirty tactics.
COMBAT SAMBO also allows headbutts.
@@saroroot7535 🙏 Thanks ... I will take a look at SAMBO 🙂
Motobu Chota Karate is absolutely and without question the best and most brutal of any and all Martial arts. Sad that for the most part it still hasn't left Okinawa except for a very select people in the US and maybe if I'm not mistaken Russia. Truly sad that $$$ Was more important than teaching the true elite level Martial art. And it's happening more and more in all stills today
@@saroroot7535 you mean Kudo.. it's like Combat sambo, but allows headbutts. It's japanese style of MMA
@@CocaineCowboyJones Never heard of KUDO but I'm pretty sure Combat Sambo has headbutts in their competition.

(Underrated martial art) Savate "french kickboxing" aka kickboxing with shoes, u won't believe how wearing boots can effect ur balance and generate kicks no even karate nor Tae Kwon do. sure they look flashy and weird but somehow it works
That is very good.
Which is best? The one you train regularly at high intensity against a resisting opponent that's training intense against you.
Muay Thai is my favorite. At 6'4" I use this style bc of my reach...

Learning Boxing (for anything related to hand), teakwood (to master the leg) and BJJ for grappling situations. When all these combined, no attacker can stop you since you’ve known everything needed.
Also learn Krav Maga to know what to do when they have a weapon
An attacker well trained with a pistol can stop a person with boxing and BJJ experience easily.
You learn judo not bjj
Taking someone to ground in a street fight is extremely dangerous as you are assuming they have no weapons and now you have placed them in striking distance of nerves, tendons, arteries, veins, vital organs, etc. A 2 inch hidden blade can kill you. BJJ. No. Judo. no. Grappling in a street fight No.
@@icenova3656 Dumb comment, how many street fights end with the guy wrestling him to the ground? BuT wHaT iF hE hAs WeApOnS? You'd want to control his arms which is a grappling tactic...
The best arts to choose if you want to defend yourself in street fights:
Krav maga
Boxing/kick boxing
Judo
Karate (optional)
_With those you can counter the attacks and disarm the aggressor's weapon and then put them on the ground but if you get hit you will get more less damage since in kick boxing/boxing you will learn how to absorb the hits_
i agree completelly just beside karate!
I agree
@trashlid777 well...
Taekwondo is focused on long range which can be a really big disadvantage since in street fights people are mostly likely jumping on you and going in close range.

Krav maga is perfect for self defense, because it's mainly target on a weak spot of the human body. Each strike can efficiently stun the opponent, also you can fight against knife or stick(if you have no option left) otherwise if opponent has a weapon. Just run
Just try to run away from any fight. But, if the fight is inevitable, just be the first to strike. Hit something that will end the fight instantly, like the larynx, or bend some joint the wrong way..
No, it's not its absolute garbage.
Krav maga is a scam and most of you don't even realize that it's a very short combative class designed to get soldiers to move towards the danger. It's not a self defense class.
Ultimately it comes down to conditioning, total fitness and natural fighter skills. I have no experience in martial arts but am seriously fit with a high level of conditioning.
As a martial artist I agree some of the toughest figth I had were from untrained guys that were skilled due to personal experienced with figthing ( they may lack in the technical aspect but their timing is far superior due to the intensity of a dangerous situation)
The best martial artist are those that can learn by themselves so its not surprising that some of the best are untrained guys with alot of real life experience.
I've had both experiences and i gotta say I'm alot more scared of the dude that was raised figthing in the hood that the guys that been training for multiple years but never experienced a figth or fligth situations.
It's a different mentality to figth for fun and to be figthing for ur safety all the time.
@@nicolasbouchard6331 well said...👍
yeah that's ok but if you train to have good timing and speed with bone crunching strikes along with your high fitness level and conditioning you will be better that way and survive in a real fight, it comes down to physics and reality and of course science, most of all out of anything at all you can train all you want but it all comes down to raw experience and that is by being in real fights all the time this is the only real way to become good at it
@@James-dontgiveuponJesus yes thats true, I'm seriously considering joining my local MMA club or there's a Kung fu club. I've visited these two in the past and both put you through some serious conditioning training...
Bruce Lee quoted "I do not fear the man who kns a 100 kicks, I fear the man that has thrown 100 kicks" and he also quoted" a man who has trained boxing and wrestling for an yr, can beat a man who has trained martial arts all his life" we all kn what he meant is that someone can train to punch really hard, someone can train how to kick, jump or throw jumping kicks fast and everything, but a man who kns those probably won't beat a man who may not now to throw the strongest kick or hav the best balance and flexibility as long he has fought so many times before he probably won't throw the most beautiful kick ever but from trial and error and constant repetitive fighting he will hav the knowledge and timing and conditions to kick u where it hurts powerful or not, he will kn how to play u dance with u, wither his fighting is sloppy but u can't land a hit or can't defend against his punches even after ur training he is going to look more beautiful than i, but from apart of that since boxing and wrestling are the most simple and most aggressive fighting that hones every instinct and fitness and if ur a gifted natural born fighter thrown punches is probably all u ever gonna need, that's y n my gym I keep looking for ppl to spar instead of attending my instructor's class n be 1,2 1,2 I wanna develop my footwork from my errors and I want to kn how to defend and hav movement and I want to get used to punching and getting punched like ur suppose to, I do attend my jiu-jitsu class but I do it cuz in the end we do spar and we do to try the techniques my teacher teaches us wither it works or not n seeing techniques he teaches us I can already see the science and see every angle jiu-jitsu is suppose to do, and I can see how my opponent reacts and figure their patterns and how fainting and presuring them cause them to open or how counter their offense, and because on how I piece the science in the techniques my teachers shows other takedowns, locks, and escapes especially from a submission hav been coming to me instinctively, but I do hope I get better enough so i could include strikes on my jiu-jitsu and fighting up against a wall. But I do dream on learning boxing since boxers literally hav the strongest punches, I wanna do muay thai since muay thai weaponizes every part of ur body and even let's u grab and pull ur opponents into ur strikes, and I wanna learn since of course in a street fight almost every fight will end up in the ground so jiu-jitsu is good but I wanna able to strike on the ground. So point is I wanna be technical is It can get and just remember punch but don't get punch, which is y I don't wanna learn Kung fu, nor karate, nor tko since those just train to for flexibility, high kicks and spins a high kick is gonna leave u off balance and u could fall easily, a Spin kick is gonna leave ur back away n those r hard to land, just throw simple kicks to just hit and pull ur leg back or connect with another strike.
Dude I agreed with what you said about sambo...if you life is in danger of course anything goes...it is your life! Well said right there partner.
So many great comments here. I'm thankful for my brutal and harsh "training" growing up which did nothing except give me a lack of self esteem and the fastest hands I know. This, coupled with thousands of self choreographed fight scenes I did between the ages of 13-16, and some real situations, has enabled me to defend myself with stunning success. Ultra fitness also played a major role, as well as practicing one punch 100,000 times. We all have our training and combat journey and hopefully most of us will never see life threatening situations because we saw them well in advance and responded accordingly.
That's nice 😂
You can also be creative with martial arts like Boxing, adding some leg grabbing techniques to it whenever your opponent kicks you, or kick-dodging when your opponent tries to kick the weak part of your leg or when they tryna sweep ur leg. I did that and it took 4 months to master, I have only gotten in a fight once and those creative techniques are honestly worthy for self defence. All I had to do is hold my bully's leg and throw a right hook at his jaw and a kick on his croch
Nobody is listening to a guy with an LGBTQ flag as his name.
I think the same. When I'm training alone at home with my heavybag, I add some elbow strikes.
I tried Muay Thai last year. It's amazing. But man, I hate throwing kicks and knees. I know it'd come in handy in a street fight, but personally I could't stand doing it.
So I came back to boxing and add some elbow just in case someone try to pick a fight with me.
Boxing is incredible. The footwork is great (Muay Thai just lacks it), head movement is awesome and such. The problem is how fragile are the hands, especially compared to the skull. That's why now I train with a long guard and instead of focusing in power I bet in speed and precision. Even a punch with 50% of power can knock a punk out if hit the right spot.
I'll try to learn how to grab the oponents leg too, thanks for the tip.
Believe me boxing is helpful in street fight
It's pretty much all you need unless of course the other guy has a weapon or is trained in martial arts. I trained as a boxer starting at age 11 and continued till I finished highschool. As an adult I've had 6 or 7 street fights, unavoidable conflicts, and I brought them all to a quick finish using nothing but skills I learned as a teenager. Just knowing how to recognize telegraphing in your opponent is invaluable.
I proved boxing many times, I made them sleep on street.
Most definitely. A Ukrainian boxer took out 2 of 4 thugs, with no more than 6 punches. Imagine if he was a jujitsu man
@@pinoywheelgunner jujitsu is useless outside the dojo when facing multiple attackers

the best realistic fights skills is FMA Filipino Martial Arts, all the above mentioned in the video is infact the complete package in FMA.
Skills in any Martial arts can be useful only if the opponent doesn't use a gun in a street fight...
True , no martial art can really prepare you for a gun, you're better off running or giving them what they want if you can. I know in Krav Maga you get taught gun disarms but they're extremely dangerous and the instructors will even tell you that wrestling with a gun is a bad idea.

@@machooguy484 did you get my comment I will first learn Krav Maga then combat sambo and last sanda/sanshou one at a time all three are effective and work in self-defense street fighting and I can learn them anywhere in the USA without going to their place of origin
I do Muay Thai but I carry long switchblade for dirty fighters including conceal carry. But I stay out of dangerous places. So they better be careful when I strike or slash an arteries. I grew up in street fighting culture before taking up martial arts
Why Indonesian traditional Self defence art. (Silat) no include?
"FULL CONTACT STYLE" while squeezing each fingers😂😂😂😂😂😂
MMA does not allow lethal techniques (like eye attacks) and no one is on the street with gloves and there is concrete and glass and uneven ground not a soft flat matt with no weapons. A trained fighter or a street savvy fighter can use almost anything as a weapon. It can be effective but in a street fight the object is not to knock someone out or gain points. It is survival. Kill or be killed.
No art will work unless you pressure train it. So most boxing, mma, bjj, wrestling styles will work on the streets, they’re used to get hit and won’t freeze up. And so can effectively use your eye poke
@bo xer in one-step sparring drills yes!
No idea why people assume the MMA guy couldn't just also go for the eyes
Jon jones is typing...
MMA fighter need to learn an martial art that teaches lethal techniques like: American Kenpo, Eskrima/Kali/Arnis, Hapkido, & Jeet Kune Do
Is not "let the way" , is called "lethwei" btw I am from myanmar and thanks for add our national fighting style in video, I appreciate it 🔥👍🏻
How about wing Chun,Jit Kun du,and aikido?you didn't mentioned this styles!
Amazing
I learn Judo Karate in 7 years am 5'8½ and 180 pound my master is tetired cop and retired army🥋🥋🇵🇭🇵🇭
Alam mo ba pare na underrated Ang Kali? Dito sa atin sa Filipinas o kahit saan pinaka dangerous martial Ang Kali Or FMA Kay sa mga Japanese martial arts.
I trained in traditional wing Chun it’s not too good against ground fighting but otherwise I’ve absolutely demolished opponents with it because its fast accurate and powerful , it follows science and efficiency where I’ve seen fat unfit guys who know big chun bash an mma fighters head in , strange this isn’t in the list is all
I think you are dreaming. Wing chun is a waste of time.
I myself am a Kick-Boxer.
@@user-qz9uc8vm2p I doubt you are successful based on your attitude. Keep at it though 👍
Agreed WC is a terrible "sport" but very effective combat system. Funny how some really good sports like any form of jujitsu are misconstrued as the ultimate when it comes to combat. People think those bil jee's are the same as when a magician points at something.
Bjj may be very strong one on one, but what to do when it's more than one?
I would always recommend learning stand-up fighting in addition to BJJ and also learning stand-up fighting as a BJJ.
You are missing one, Jeet Kune Do...
Muito legal guerreiros
Maybe I will mix Krav Maga with Kung Fu to make it Krav maga/ kung fu I will add Wing Chun tai chi xing yi quan bagauzhange because these four are the best Kung Fu styles of all-time in history effective and work in self-defense street fighting like I said about Krav Maga
You're Watching too much movies brother 🤣
@@iamocoyt6515 noI'm not I've seen many Krav Maga combat in real life
Krav Maga mix with Hapkido
You mix Krav Maga with Kung Fu and you can then call your new martial arts CrabFu
@@machooguy484 Krav Maga with Hapkido will be called by its new name KidoCrabs
In most cases it is not the martial arts but the person and the condition or situation in which the fight is taking place
You try that 'Brazillian Jiu Jitsu' outside pub on a Saturday night in Glasgow and see where it gets you.
Good luck with that.
Mma is not a style..its a mix
Exactly
Piece of shift
😂😂😂
You forgot Escrima. Escrima is not just weapons-based, but also have Dirty Boxing, Kicking and wrestling/grappling (Dumog) which is taught after weapons mastery.
Silat laughs in silence
I lost it when wrestling came no.4.😅😅
It should be higher because it'd easily one of the best.
In my opinion the most effective in real fights are Wing Chun and Krav Maga.
😂😂😂
I would rate Krav Maga but I'm skeptical of wing chun ngl.
In a street fight...the best technique is to be in as good of shape as possible and to be as strong as you can be. The next technique is to know how to grapple -- that means -- knowing how to get out of headlocks efficiently and knowing how to get out of various holds and grabs -- if you are strong and in shape -- it makes it a lot easier to get out of holds and grabs. If you look stong and look like your in shape, its makes it 90% less likely that someone is going to try to start a fight with you. And if you are strong and are in shape, it makes it 8 percent likely that the person is going to back down when they realize how much of a hassle it is to have to fight you. The last 2% you are dealing with someone who is mentally ill, and probably possessed by a demon -- and you have to start praying and you have to be able to outlast them. They'll eventually wear down. Being able to fight is instinctive -- some people have it and some people don't. And some people have the natural aggression to be willing to hurt other people and feel good about it or be comfortable with it -- and some people -- really most people don't.
I've found that fighting is more spiritual than physical. It is about who can control their energy better. Evil people who like to fight, they try to absorb your energy and use it against you. So if you get very fearful or very angry, they absorb that energy and it powers them up. If you stay as calm as possible, they can't absorb your energy, and you are able to absorb their negative karma and push it back against them if they are in the wrong.
So what material art is the very best only 1
Nonsense video
boxing is best for street
I think boxing can be quite effective in the street fight. but some things in boxing that you would use in the ring very effectively are not good idea in a street fight. I think Muay thai or Lethwei are more complete fighting systems. Still some muay thai fighters don't really know how to throw rear cross very well. But for those that do plus know the other way to deliver a rear cross which while weaker has a better chance of landing plus their use of other limbs generally beats boxing.
@@bartangel4867 boxing + taekwondo + judo
@@jxnvary that would go well together. I would still put some muay thai and wrestling into it.
@@bartangel4867 ye
Kickboxing also
The best martial art is the art of communication for the word is mightier than the sword.
If that fails anything goes.
ANYTHING GOES.
Is karate more effective than muay thai? This youtuber forgot to take his pills. 😂 Karate’s ridiculous, full of katas, it teaches to swim on the ground. Boxing (or muay thai) and wrestling are more than enough.
Grappling is dangerous forest Street Fight.
You've forgot one: RUNNING 🤣🤣🤣🤣
When someone comes at you, Mr. Colt will take care of it
In Washington, mutual combat is legal if both parties agree to the fight, and it occurs in a public place, and there is no serious bodily injury. Similarly, in Texas, mutual combat is legal if both parties consent, and it does not result in serious bodily injury.
So a street fight in Texas is only legal if the fight is agreed upon by both people?
People have guns these days. But in my opinion, having 15 other people to beat up one guy who can't fight is more pussified.
Krav Maga should be top 3 NOT 9 I've seen it in a street fight. Opponent had no chance.
Any more info on this, am curious how it went.
Personally i think we can forget bjj in self defense situations, cause it focuses in grapling techniques vs grapling techniques while laying down. It’s quite hard to pull up an arm bar while getting knucles on your face. My personal top 5 would be taekwondo, sambo, boxing, wrestling and mma. Mma takes the lead cause it’s widely spread and mma-gyms are known to be laid back learning environments where everyone is constanly developing new techniques to overthrow opponents. My mma coach once taught to us that some day we will face opponents that are superior to our skills in every way possible, but whom we can take down if we have faster musclememory. So my answer is to find straitforward martial art and star grinding few selected techniques.
Muy Thai, Sambo, and boxing combination is the best style. though Sambo combines kicks punch and grappling. but Muy Thai balance and low kicks with effective elbows and knee strikes with the rapidity of boxing punches it is unstoppable. if one prefers to skip any of them, so they can skip boxing because both Muy Thai and Sambo have punches.
Tactical weapon is probably meet the requirements the most in a street as baton ,folding knilf, .
Karate's weakness is they are not good in inside fighting, when fighting against a karate fighter all you have to do is wait for them to attack then countering them is easy. Because they put everything into every punch or kick, I call it over committing , it is hard for them to spar, so once you are inside they have no defense
