  • These days, purpose is everywhere. But if that's the case, why is it so hard to find? A former Wall Street investor turned non-profit founder, Tariq Fancy is on a mission to help us understand how our economic system is broken, and why we need our elected leaders to fix the rules of the game so that capitalism and financial markets better serve the public interest. Tariq Fancy helps organizations and individuals apply business principles to help humanity. After creating one billion in profit for investors as youngest Partner at a Wall Street firm, and then returning to investment banking as Chief Investment Officer of Sustainable Investing, Tariq Fancy realized that ESG investing isn’t making the impact he thought.
Today his goal is to help one billion children. Tariq founded Rumie, an award winning, non-profit organisation, that uses low-cost technology to provide access to education for underprivileged children around the globe. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx

Excellent talk with great analogies Tariq Fancy!
The ref & rules are missing, or weak, in the capitalist structures & processes that we use. Time for a change to make financial markets that work for all of us and not just the rich & powerful.
Oh, and the by-product is saving the planet... Win-win

We have tried regulating it already. Over the past century, its been a roller coaster of regulation/deregulation. It doesnt work. Why do you want to try it again??

I truly doubt that youve seen the worst of capitalism.
If you had of seen the worst of capitalism like myself, you would no longer be supporting wanting to fix it, but rather making a beeline for the door.
