  • Hebden Bridge: Yorkshire MTB Mecca?
    Hebden Bridge is the home of Singletrack Magazine, the birthplace of On One bikes and Ragley, home to loads of seriously steep technical trails and famous for lesbians and flooding. Singletrack mag and forum will have you believe that it is MTB Mecca, and it does indeed have a ridiculous number and variety of trails, all within easy reach of the town.
    Despite living very close to it for a number of years, I rarely ventured over so it was time to go and try to find more of the trails. I barely scratched the surface but what I did find were awesome. Well worth a visit !!

      Cheers mate and yeah, that track was just silly. It featured in a recent Tommy C Hype video and they found it a bit difficult too (although rode it far better than me). One for when it's bone dry I reckon, not that it often is in the Pennines 👍😃

    Oh man, just discovered your channel. We stopped off in Hebden on the way to the Lakes last October and rode almost the exact same trails as you did in this video. That steep one you had a couple of goes at was fenced off to stop you going down it then :-(

      Such a shame that track was fenced off; quite a few were when we went back at the end of October but there's loads more around there that weren't. I love the riding around Hebden, so much variety.

      To be fair, it was only the one where I messed up that is ridiculous. The one with the smelly pink flowers is steep and has a couple of awkward jumps and drops isn't that bad really, although I bet it's 'fun' in deepest winter when the ground is sodden 👍

    Hebden is great. Nice vid. You guys should also take a jaunt to Tod, next town over. Home of Singletrack, magazine, Cycle Factory, Havok Park, Stoodley, BMW trail etc. Secret trails, less cluttered.

      @Stopadoodledoo  2 года назад

      Thanks mate. I do need to explore more around there, a group of us went for a ride from Tod with Shaun from STW years ago (how long ago did Shaun leave!!) but my mech hanger snapped about three miles in so I ended up sat in a bar getting hammered with a couple of dubious looking local lasses whilst the rest of them continued. Happy days 😂

      @Stopadoodledoo  2 года назад

      There’s people out there with much better knowledge of the area than me but if I was wanting a quick and fun blast, it would be up the Heptonstall side of town. There’s some decent tea that drop off Lee Bank (entrance is on the right as you turn the corner near the top) and the one from Heptonstall down Mytholm is great too; trailhead is at the far south of the village next to a clubhouse and near a communications tower.

I suppose I could have left it out because it's not all rad and hardcore and tech boom steep GNARR Winch-Plummet and all that bollocks but I'd rather show the good and the bad because we all know that every ride has some bits which are 'meh'.
