Thank you SO MUCH for covering the backing piece about the lead vocalist story of bringing in the second vocalist from another band. That is a seldom told tale about this tune. And it totally makes the song better by having that extra layer from the other vocalist, dropping part of the song in their native language. IMO, it is one of their best tunes. Everyone finding them wants to hear the massive metal sound that this band typically drops on you, but I LOVE this Rock Ballad that they do here.
@@DLynn I learned about them shortly before my girlfriend told me that her own son''s band got the opportunity to open for them on the road. I'm still not a big fan of her son's band, Miss May I, but they are pretty good at what they do. No offense to her or her sons music, I'm just not a big fan of "screamo" music. Maybe it's a little too heavy for my old ears, vocally. They are probably worth a listen though if you like metal music. My favorite song by them is Hey Mister. Most of the rest...okay.
@@DLynn Johan G. Olsen from Magtens korridorer is a Professor at University of Copenhagen whit a p.hd in Macromolecular crystallography, not a pretty professor but ho is this days, but he got a big brain
Nice to see my danish neighbours get noticed with their awesome bands :). They got some great singers songwriters. Kim Larsen too is good or was he's dead now but like Elvis or Cash he lives on
Volbeat has become a huge part of my life since 2010. Amazing live, songs are golden. I’m from Jersey and grew up with the guys from My Chemical Romance. Which is another legendary band I’d suggest you check out. Great reaction. Love the channel.
Danish translation : Imens står solen over højen ...Now the sun stands over the hill Han mindes den sommer hvor hun strålede....He remembers the summer where she shined forsvandt i haven grøn ....Dissappeared it the green garden Og træernes sang hun fandt....and the song of the trees she found. That song took the darkness in it`s paw It carried his woman in its`s cold arms And layed her before his door in a silk dress Hoping the angels will take her home
I have a long list of awesome songs by Volbeat!!! But be careful! You will get hooked! I guarantee! Michael actually was lead singer of a death metal band called Dominus, they had , I believe 4 albums, but I’m glad they went the way they did. Because after I heard their first song on the radio, I got on Amazon and bought all their albums and they have been my favorite band since! Seen them in concert 4 times and they are beyond awesome live. Thanks again, D!!!
Hey D,this was a great reaction to Volbeat who are one of my favorite metal bands. They remind me a lot of Metallica, and Michael's voice is kind of like James Hetfield when he was younger.Volbeat kills it live,so please do more of them.Thank you for this!
This is my first time watching any of your videos I love reaction videos, I dig you from the start. You have a great demeanor a great attitude a great spirit about you I hope you continue to do as I am already subscribe and will continue to watch keep it up I encourage you you got this!
Great reaction. Volbeat is one of my favorite bands, I'm glad you liked them. It's hard to believe but they really did start out as a death metal band called Dominus back around 1991 or so. I actually got into Volbeat through the last album Dominus wrote, Godfallos. If you look up the song "Thine" by Dominus you can actually hear a heavier version of Volbeat's groove with Michael singing a combination of his original growls and his modern clean singing. They really went through some wild changes before they settled into their groove.
You are spot on about music and the bands that came out in those years, I really miss that generation of rock with new bands weren’t afraid to come out and put out some good rock music now it seems like everyone is trying to appeal to the current trend. I love when there were a lot of one hit wonder bands putting out good music, I think you have a great taste in music I can’t wait to watch some of your other videos
Nice reaction to Volbeat, if you want some thing else from Volbeat try "Sad Man's Tongue" or "Pelvis On Fire" they are alot different then this one, and hallo from Denmark.
Johan Olsen is a bit of a renaissance man, besides being the lead singer he has a phd in some form of microbiology, and works as a researcher a Copenhagen University, he has several side projekts besides "Magtens Koridorer" plus he does both radio and TV work, and wrote a book about science in every day life.
By the way, I really like Avenged Sevenfold, and they toured together a couple years ago so of course I went to that show in Kansas City and I loved it. But M Shadows and M Poulsen don’t sound similar. I like Michaels vocals much better. People refer to Michael as Metal Elvis, and Elvis and Johnny Cash were huge influences . People also say he sounds like Glen Danzig from Danzig and the Misfits. Volbeat is really big in Europe and getting bigger all the time in the rest of the world but it’s going way slower than it should be. I blame hip hop, especially in the US. Kids these days want to hear people rhyming to a synthesized beat,,,,, not my thing but different strokes.....
Though I do enjoy hip hop and some rap, rock is my life! I know I was wrong about A7, but I just can't place Michael's voice. One day, if I make it to 80 yrs old, it'll come to me! But I do like this band...
ruclips.net/video/GrnNQGSmbFk/видео.html just in case you wanted to see the live version or rather versions the song is from a live show, but the video is clips from several live shows ❤️
If you wanna hear a great angry song.. my go tos are Far Behind by Social Distortion and Texas Hillbilly Coalition Pissed off and mad about it.... so eloquently help you get your feelings out. Social Distortion also influenced Michael poulsen, he has. Huge Social distortion tat on his forearm
If you love Volbeat listen to Social Distortion, they heavily influenced Michael Poulsen... I mean he has a giant Social Distortion tattoo on his forearm ... trust me your love of music will grow, far behind, story of my life and sick boy to get you started
Thank you for your suggestion! I have heard of Social Distortion, and I might have caught bits of Story Of My Life, but not the whole thing. If you have a particular song in mind, let me know. I will give the disclaimer that it'll take awhile to get to it...
Try with Volbeat - For Evigt, another new rockband from Denmark you should try listening to is Defecto you should listen to Sovereign ruclips.net/video/4sw_Wk4SI88/видео.html.
Thank you for the suggestions! I'll definitely add at least one to my list...with Christmas reactions coming, it'll take me awhile to get to them, but I will!😁👍

His voice often reminds me of Elvis. He likes to do those deeper Elvis sounds.
Elvis/Cash.

I love Volbeat.
Elvis meets the Misfits....
You know what...that's a perfect description of Volbeat! I couldn't have said it better... thank you!
Metal Elvis
the nicest song from them ... not my favorite song but the nicest no doubt
react to "Our Loved Ones" from Volbeat. The lead singer wrote it about his father who passed away. AWESOME song
He did that in "Fallen" too.
proud to be danish poulsen/johan olsen are badass
Volbeat´s voice was inspiried by Elvis :) Easy to hear
a mix of James Hetfield and Cher ;-)
