Where would I connect the fans (the 2/3 fans directly to the power supply, two on the power supply and another on the other side (where?) What characteristics should they have so that together with the noctua the power supply does not break down (Noctua + 2 fans of amperage x?, watts x?). @@reth14 what actually helps is to change the Powersupply to an external (like a laptop Cable) because a very big amount of heat is generated trough the PSU. But you'll have to live with the ugly box outside your Wheel.

    • @GlennThoughts
      @GlennThoughts  2 года назад +1

      Not really. If you're living in a cold country or you have airconditioning all the time whenever you play, that fan wont even start so its not gonna be a problem. Its just something you can do if you notice that your base is making some noise (fan possible broken already)

      i think doing is as a safe measure is great especially since it doesnt cost much, mine broke 2 weeks ago cause the motor got overheated and im gonna get a second hand one tomorrow and do this mod to so it doesnt die on me like the previous one did

      @@igauravpandey it will last really long depending on your circumstances, i live in a really hot region and the stock fan wasnt enough so the motor burned down, lasted a year.
      theres people who live in Europe who had it for like 5 years and its still going strong without doing any fan mods which is nice.

      @@Heiminator81 they are different in that sense that the fan has 3 pin connector and there are just 2 pins in the base. I plugged it in anyway. The only issue was that it seemed like it had to plugged in with the "correct" two connectors on the fan. The first time I plugged it in it didn't work so I decided to try the other configuration so that the other hole stayed empty. Only then it started to work.

      @@generic1337gamer the socket on the motherboard with 2 pins is dimensionally a different size (smaller) to the fan mating 3 pin socket. So I don't get how you plugged the bigger fan socket into the motherboard directly. Doesn't fit. Looks like I could chop the new fan connector off, replace it with the old fan connector and just solder in / join the black and red wires of the 3 pin fan cable, but it doesn't simply plug in as far as I can see. Did you pull the pins out of the fan socket and just plug them onto the motherboard pins?

      Wrong. Its more efficient and blows more air. Louder fans doesnt mean its better. Most of the tine those are worst

      @@GlennThoughts you can find the specifications of the stock fan here (21.39CFM): www.chiefly-choice.com/fans/uploads/122939245975j0n.pdf
      This Noctua fan has about 17CFM which is less than the stock one. So of course you are right that noisier doesn't always mean more powerful, but from these 2, the cheap Chinese (stock) fan pushes more air than the high quality Noctua fan.
      Your video was still helpful and gave directions to me how to solve my problem. I replaced the main fan with a more powerful (~27CFM) fan and also added additional 2 small 40mm fans to take out the hot air from the system (without any new holes, used the existing ones to keep the design).
