Liked it Adam, I think this is where Harley misses the mark with their marketing. Highlighting those of us who are out here living these great adventures on our bikes. Not some actor, but normal everyday folks doing very cool things. Would love to see more of this kind of stuff. I know we learn a lot on these long haul rides we do, and seeing something unique is cool. 👊🏻

I owned 3 brand new harleys and they have completely abandoned their loyal customers for yuppie clothing and people who are looking for an image today and a new fad tomorrow ! rather than people who put their heart and soul behind a product and whom would die for the brand and buy new bikes every year ! They are junk and refuse to stand behind anything and have left the aftermarket to fix their problems and mistakes rather than fix them themselves and build a better and better product.

One of the key things I would have had to ask is how is his back holding out after getting pounded so long on a double rigid chopper. As a machinist for 30 years and working with all kinds of metals and repairing snapped off steel journals ends on many large 2 ton cylinders and rollers, I am completely amazed those five foot tubes haven’t snapped off and suffered metal fatigue from all that flex and pounding. As you can see as he rode off at low speed that whole bike was flexing and pogo sticking dramatically. I didn’t see any fork tube bracing anywhere. 130K on those long five foot tubes defies all laws of logic and metallurgy. This is very hard to believe. We all hit pot Holes on our motorcycles with long travel suspensions that hurts our backs and jars the heck out of us from time to time….I’m sorry, but I can’t imagine this particular double rigid chopper with a five foot tube extension surviving hitting a pot hole or not even encountering one in 130K miles. Especially America’s badly neglected roads.

If y'all get a chance whenever they do it again I highly recommend you get to the rocky mountains and hang out. Amazing roads and camping on the river. Plus they feed everyone a spaghetti dinner and hangout, hence the name. You'll have to ask them where they got the idea, great story!

It can be easier to get to a place and buy the bike there... it's all legal for the region, rego etc all sorted... when you leave, you can sell the bike (after a good wash) or ship it home... this is so much cheaper than shipping both ways - and cheaper than hiring a bike for a few months... you can do research online for bike sales... if you are flexible with your itinerary, you have more choices for buying a bike...

I ride a bagger and love the shield on bad days and can just hunker down behind it in the rain but do miss the wind in the hair some bikes offer, kudos to him riding that, little jealous! I wonder if the front forks oscillate (road hop) and the knobbly tires cause a different oscillation that helps cancel out the forks. Like a break step on a bridge?

My '82 Shovel I had converted to a hard tail Chopper from a FXWG Dyna with belt primary and secondary with the old 4 Spd kick start transmission. Most stable ride I have had, although kind of rough on these northern Canadian roads. Handled fantastic on gravel and dirt. Sure wish I still had it after all of these years. My current Geezer Glide ('09 Electra Glide Ultra) is great, but doesn't have the soul of that old Chopper. After I gave it to my son, he rode the hell out of it. His present FXDWG is reliable and quick, but there is something about those old ones you've built yourself. Thank you for sharing this great story. Sure wish I could figure out how he funds himself on these rides, so I guy can enjoy as well. Good luck Fellows and ride safe.

"...it's 41 degrees outside. We still get in the 50s..." Cue everyone not from the US having to Google what that is in real money. V interesting video, though!

Great Guy! But I wonder how he got through germany without getting bothered by the police here. They are VERY strict about tuned or otherwise changed things on a bike.

I put almost a 100 miles on a hard tail I bought recently. Wasn't terribly bad despite my bad back.

He’s a traveling motorcycle journalist or whatever. He gets paid to go places on his bike. Sounds cool

think the knobbly tire causes a high frequency vibration that counters / swallows the lower frequency hopping of a normal tire

Brother you look in the dictionary in the hard core and there's the picture of this guy in his motorcycle wow but when you first shown the bike I was waiting to see if it was a Sugar Bear front end but he's got no suspension one thing he's got is a healthy body because no shocks in the back no shocks in the front . I bet after a long day of riding he can't wait to jump into a hot showers ✌💖💪🎅🚌👍.

Thousands of years from now, archeologists will use his skeleton to illustrate the strange deformities inflicted on 21st century man by "choppers"

That’s some bloody miles I’m from England and I’ve rode into Europe many times on my chopper but nothing like the miles he’s done 1600 miles in one weekend is the farthest I’ve done that was on my shovel the plan next is to ride to macadonia and back have friends out there so that will be a good road trip for me but I plan to take about 3 weeks round trip my old bones couldn’t do it any quicker I’m 61 this year so need longer rests between stops 😅
