It's a tie between he and Lockyer. I saw locky pull off some bs moves when he moved to 6 he got better. Locky is the GOAT, Slater was his general

grew up watching him play in origin games with iglis, smith, cronk and thurston as my fav origin players of all time and as a new zealander i always supported queensland even prouder that my cousin val is playing for qld

Damn when inglis, lockey, thirst on and slater where playing together it was always dangerous and then smith in at Hooker too I forgot how good QLD team used to actually be I was a fullback and slater and Jared hayne where my inspirations as a growing lad I remember I’d come home from school and watch all the old parramatta and storm dvds then go and practice at the local rugby field for hours on end, damn I miss these days

Greatest Fullback of old times…I think Slater, Cronk and Smith are just products of a level of professionalism not seen in Rugby League before. Of course someone will come and do it better in future generations…but it was a pleasure to see Slater do his thing when he did.

I remember saying to my mates before his chip chase that he was really good. He was sort of unknown to Broncos fans. He had made an excellent try saver a few weeks before and I called him as one to watch. Not that anyone didnt believe me but I was truly vindicated on the Thursday when he was a fucking legend. I remember somebody passing a note around class saying Slater rocks my jocks.
