    My KTM doesn't have a link so adjusting chain could be a expensive guessing game. So I remove my rear shock so I can fully swing my swing arm and check my chain tension. It make chain adjustment fool proof Maybe you can cover this in the future

    Nice little video hopefully that rear shock spring preload isn't that far down with your proper sag srtting. that's a ton of preload on that thing maybe 1 step up spring rate is needed

    • @DirtBikeChannel
      @DirtBikeChannel  8 лет назад

      +Brian Patterson Had to reduce some pre-load to get the proper sag. It's also got the correct amount of static sag for me since I'm only 165 lbs. It's all good now.

    Oh man I am really curious to see what KTM and Husqvarna come up with in the 2020 and later... what kind of new things they introduce to the ring :)

    spectating gamer. if it's one of the pinch clamps on the triple clamp that holds the fork. use a hack saw blade in the gap to cut the bolt. the stripped bolt head should pop out. next drill the bolt and use a easy out to remove the rest of the bolt from the hole. left hand cut drill bits also work awesome. I'm in Massey Ontario Canada if you want call my house phone and I'll walk ya through it.

    Does the manual really call for red-loctite? I never use any (use anti-seize actually) and would only use blue as linkage/shock bearings should be regularly maintained.

  • @johnpaulstez

    Hey Kyle, can you do an update on these forks? can you speak to how they are different in feel from stock and what terrain you have them revalve for? I think the only thing more controversial in the forums than the XC forks themselves, is what companies do the re-valve job and if they did it correctly.

    • @jonnoMoto
      @jonnoMoto 8 лет назад

      +dazaladz Can't really go wrong except you should do up the pinch bolts last, after the fork has been bounced on a couple of times.

    I wonder how many people take a brand new bike home and strip it down and rebuild it. from the factory there's very little grease in any of the pivots and steering. my 07 kx250 had almost zero grease in the steering headset. I also use blue loctight on all the bolts and torque to spec. just an idea for ya for upcoming videos ideas.

    Can you make a video about setting compression and rebound. I have a 2010 ktm300xc. The front forks feel like the first part of the stoke is stiff. I want the forks to feel softer but don’t know the settings.

    • @DirtBikeChannel
      @DirtBikeChannel  8 лет назад

      +Corey Calhoun They really depend on who does the work. Anywhere from about $500 to $5000. They ended up putting different springs in my forks, but left the shock spring the same on mine.

    Unrelated but any suggestions on a clutch replacement not the lever the actual clutch I was thinking a Hinson but curious to see wht u recommend

    • @DirtBikeChannel
      @DirtBikeChannel  8 лет назад

      +Toxic Titan00 Hinson is very popular. The Rekluse Manual is also popular. In the last 5 years, I haven't kept a bike long enough to need to replace the stock, so take that for what it's worth.

  • @tcibutler

    Dry torque values differ from wet torque values. Not too crutial for your triple clamps though, not like you're building a competition engine or anything....

    • @jonathanoxlade4252
      @jonathanoxlade4252 8 лет назад

      lol wet torge weight won't matter even if you do 90lbs and go over 95lbs that won't hurt anything lol I rather have it a little tighter but if you go 95lbs to 120lbs then your a dumb ass lol that is what I call over tightened but being a little tighter won't hurt

      +jdm vtec Yes, increases compression a bit for riding in high altitude. If you are riding near sea level, it's not needed.

      +SpectatingGamer They make "easy out" kits that you can find at the hardware store or automotive stores. I might give that a go.
