I have been using the Hybrid Hunter since they came out and here in East Tn my favorite time to throw the original is spring (pre-spawn) paralleling bluff walls and in the fall I use the shallow out in deeper water on fish busting shad as a 1-2 punch with a walking bait. Smallmouth will absolutely try to take the rod out of your hand in 30 feet of water when you run it over them through shad. 2 of my most productive colors are Clearwater minnow and gold/black back. And as a co-angler I have caught plenty of fish behind my boater and saved my tournaments with this bait. And surprisingly I have caught more fish on Cherokee, Douglas and Norris Lake on rock and bluffs then I have on Chickamauga in the grass.

The hybrid hunter gave me a new appreciation for crank bait fishing. I'm a shallow water grass lake kinda guy. I run that thing through stuff l wouldn't even toss a square bill in. Works great in wood too.

You guys are going to maul them in April in Florida it’s my favorite month to fish and I’m a Native Floridian. We’ve had a cold winter and the water is in the high 50’s and the water is really high

So a shallow shad rap will kick it out the park plus works as a jerkbait .

Andy Thanks, I like the traditional 3" version in Sweet Shad for Upstate NY grass lakes. Good bait to mix in with Chatterbait
Todd Castledine had a video on this bait and I have been meaning to look into this lure more and here we are.
Triple grips do hold onto bigger fish better.
Hey Andy Strike King just released new colors in the Hybrid Hunter. I stumbled across them on Tackle Warehouse. There is a killer looking Ghost Gill, Tannic Gill and a few other colors 👍
I have had better luck on the jr size they finally just came out with some new better colors
I noticed that the shallow Shad Rap has the same exact lip as the hybrid hunter. Is it as good as the Hybrid Hunter?

I bought some Hybrid Hunters and caught my PB largemouth on it right away! But I think that a number 9 shallow shad rap is a way better lure!
I bought several, but yet to get em wet, my bad....
Doesn't get heavily caught in grass, so its easier to rip out and get triggered strikes too.
