Modular Payload System: Launching from Land or Sea
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 3 окт 2024
- Northrop Grumman's Modular Payload System (MPS) can utilize either hot or cold launch technology to launch a series of payloads, including uncrewed aerial vehicles (UAVs) and advanced missiles. The hardware is contained and deployed from a short shipping container, allowing it to be quickly deployed on land and surface ships.

This is getting very Ace Combat very quickly.
fr
MQ-99 moment
Ace combat 7 is an interactive documentary
I see someone at Northrop played Ace Combat 7.
There's no way it could be the other way around, right?
Nope, never played it.
hell yeah new freedom showcase dropped. Love when these videos come out
This could solve the issue of reloading the VLS cells on ships while they are underway. Currently ships need to return to a suitable port to reload the VLS cells.
Great work Northrop Grumman.
This is basically a 20' version of the Lockheed Martin's 40' Typhon containerized launcher. A regular Mk 41 VLS is up to 26' in length, so these can only fit the smallest 18' missiles which are usually just defensive SAMs.
@@doujinflip yeah, but those are also gonna be the missiles a ship burns through fastest most of the time
Would be a terrible substitute.
first iranians do the Ace combat stuff and now Northrop Grumman does it, thats crazy
imagine a container ship with dozens of these on deck...
and automatically dumbing fired cointainer into the ocean
I wonder if it is say, possible to fit a single large, jet-powered UCAV equipped with missiles and guns into the container for naval launch, or launch with no preparation?
some mid to small drones use a small rocket to get up to speed with no runway could work
XQ-58 Valkyrie could work since its rail launched
Oh, I don't know, something like the MQ-99 from a certain arcade flight combat game?
I'm not exactly sure why the gun.
Anyway, it will need some initial booster.
The launch will always need to be prepared. Those missile armed ucav tend to be one that operate along side manned crafted.
You don't want your own ucav downing your own aircraft during launch, no?
All that needs to be added is the freebird solo and the video is perfect
Edit: I actually did it, its on my channel
Good for you... Taking content and just adding music..
Imagine this being carried by a normal looking cargo ship into your port, and suddenly your city rains fire.
I feel like this would be great for a stealth cargo ship 😂
and bury finally term of "civilian" according Geneva
Pirates attacking cargo vessels are about to realize their mistakes way faster now lmao
not particularly space efficient, but in return its flexible and probably easier to "reload" than the other options we got.
Naval Rapid Dragon or Ace Combat Shenanigans
Just so you guys know putting this on a Cargo ship is considered against the rules of engagement thus a warcrime unless if the ship is flying a Naval jack and not a merchant flag then its all good
Tell that to the Chinese who already operate a shadow navy of "fishing boats" and have roll on, roll off civilians ferries that seem to designed a lot more like amphibious landing craft than a normal ferry.
You had me at 'hot or cold'.
Now Northrop Grumman has to get into the container ship-building business.
Like the old Modular Launch System better. Far more versatile.
Modern warfare will seem like a cell phone game, Madness.
You can put prsm inside it
A Container ship with a hundred of these would be pretty badass
If you can do this you can put one in a CAPTOR mine system. Just saying.
what is there to actuate the opening of the roof launch door
2 dudes
@@HailAzathoth2 dudes with hand cranks. LOL
So now we have a shipping container weapon system?! I bet it is not cheap! 😂
So this is the US version of StanFlex?
Question: Didnt some russian Company do someting like that some years back? I mean they most likely posted only a video but still....
because this idea is as old as hills, and the only thing moscovia is able to do is to -snatch- "make" cartoons
@@_CossaCShocK_ You are right! Q ships come to mind!
@@danielstrobel3832 In fact, such projects means a lot: their goal is to optimize the army core, the logistics, that sounds good, however it also means, that the client of this projects has not so much money to allow already existed solutions. Mil products do not looks like civilian ones, cause there is another level of manufacture and design culture, that requires such end forms. The unification of launching platforms and making them easy to change, recoil or transport is a good idea, that already has the face in US army, and this one from video is just a sign of one of the next 2 things: either its army degradation eaten by corruption, or the country gets ready for serious war, where you need cheap and mass-product solutions, to overcome the enemy in economics...
@@_CossaCShocK_ Wow! You know a lot about that stuff! Lets just hope they get ready for a war that will never come!
@@danielstrobel3832 I'd say that the war is already on-going, the question is just about it spread-out and heaviness...
Coming to every backyard in America. 🇺🇸
This might be work for a surprise attack or sea base ambush on unsuspecting target if they place few camouflage missiles launch disguised as cargo grates on a civilian cargo vessel
looks like the Russian Club-K .
vice-versa
Same. And it is not just single container, the complex should include navigation, radar, command, and power units.
Congratulations, you made a shipping container 😂
Top heavy might cause issues if the trucks take the turns too aggressively.
I knew there was a purpose for the small conexes. Now make the one that uses Maple tree seed drones to swarm an area creating a shell that can stop in comming drones with an emp blast/pop turning off right before to floating into the opposing drone. Or not IDK wish I could get residuals from that contract...
they forgot the audio on this one
Is it really just now that they came up with the idea? here is the Russian analogue
Title on RUclips: Containerized missile system 3M-54 Club-K (video from 10 years ago (re-uploaded to the channel))
So, container ships are the next carriers? :)
Is that a cold laucnhing?
getting serious ace combat 7 vibes here
The Danger cargo
Ouch! These days you can get blown up by a shiping container!
It’s giving me call of duty vibes
Wait a minute... I've seen that in MWII 22!
Standardised boom box
based. Iranian drone carrier vibes.
Crouching tiger - hidden dragon.
Spicy cargo container vessel
looks good, you can test that in ukraine
If you use a gamma ray blast from a satcom outfitted with such technology the hydraulic system should fail rendering this defunct in seconds lmaooo
Wow
You didn’t tell us anything new. We know these systems are being worked on by a variety of companies.
What makes yours special?
That the only company that has made this before is Grunder which is fictional, so NG is actually special for making Ace Combat real
Zelensky already added this to his wish list
It’s the thing from call of duty!
Northrop Grunder
Belkan witchcraft
Isn't this perfidy? Bit of a war crime, ain't it?
How u reload
Press R
you don't
thats the neat part, you dont.
Guys. You realize you just created Ace Combat 7 in real life.
😂👍👍
Q ships
Funny 10years ago i see a very close copy from russia (iskander) , oh no ? The Northrop is later so its the copy but whait its Russian do not cont.
Oh Boi, not this Again
Please Osea,,,, I mean Erusea Noooo
This is old news
The Russians have something like this
Stolen missies from MW campaign.
Russia made a lot to club k and iskander
Ace combat and GI Joe fucked
The best part is no part. The best process is no process. It weighs nothing. Costs nothing. Can’t go wrong. Musk
Lol
This is blurring the lines of what is a civilian and military infrastructure. As fascinating as it is, we cannot jeopardize clarity of intention for covert lethal installation it will widen the collateral consequences...
I don't like war
But the whole world endorsed Biden for president, so that he would start WW3
Nobody likes war (except dictators like Putin, Hitler, etc). The whole point of having a stronger military is so that adversaries don't want to start one after weighing the upside and downside.
you're actually behind Iran and North Korea on this idea
FROM THE LAND TO THE SEA. ISRAEL WILL BE FREE XD
Free of jews
Ничего себе новость))))) ракеты,, калибр". Уже лет 10 так плавают на грузовых кораблях)))
you guys should give me an internship trust
