First time viewer of your channel. Awesome! I just clicked subscribe. Me and my buddy fish stocked trout down in WV a few times a year. We don’t catch a lot, but we have a great time. Question: what type of line are you using and what pound is it? I use a 4lb clear fluorocarbon but wonder if it’s to light for the streams we fish. Anyways you are a trout catching machine. Have fun.

I still have an occasional line break, but mainly due to not re-tying for too long. Cheers & Tight Lines my friend & definitely give my other vids a look, they won’t disappoint! 👌😎

@@clete3977 Lol….. most of the fish I go for are wild….. I’m basing this off of the streams not being stocked, the colors & unblemished full fins typically are the result of a wild trout, bare minimum holdovers that have been in the stream a long time!! 👍

But unfortunately lost my biggest wild one due to me not having a landing net at that point….. was reaching down to put a hand on it to land it & it popped off the hook….. 🤦♂️….. was in the 16” range……. The hardest part for me about it is once you get pretty good at something. It’s hard to take a step back or down….. I like to fish upstream for a couple different reasons, the main factors of why, are the fish always face upstream so when approaching them from behind you spook a lot less of them and also any sediment that you kick up will be downstream of the fish & also not a factor of spooking them! 🤙😁 The casting upstream part is just a byproduct of it! And it works! Haha

I splash through the Valley Creek all the time here in Valley Forge. Working up and down the creek. I see 20" trout all the time. But they're so spooky and wily they never hit my spinners or rat tails. A good day is one juvenile on a spin. 7" tops. I hate you.

A buddy of mine named Rick Stahl that lived in PA always knew where to go and catch big trout. He lived close to Cowans Gap.
