Composer Xi Wang Discusses Her New Work, Ensō, Before World Premiere

For composer Xi Wang, Ensō came from a place of necessary healing after composing her turbulent Year of 2020. In seeking out nature, light, and calmness, she brings listeners along on a deeply personal journey to enlightenment. Prior to the world premiere of Ensō, The Philadelphia Orchestra visited her in Dallas to learn more about the piece and her approach to composing.

I watched the Philadelphia orchestra perform this piece this week and it was fantastic, love hearing some of the thought that went into composing it.
