MY HOSPITAL BLOOD TESTS showed possible CANCER OF THE LYMPH NODES!

  • I'm back at Kings Mill Hospital for an Ultrasound and more blood tests to find out the cause of my health problems. I've now had an ECG, Chest X-ray, CT Scan and numerous blood tests. The blood tests today showed a marker in my blood that points towards Cancer of the Lymph Nodes. I had to wait an hour to find out the results. I have to say as soon as the Doctor mentioned the 'C' word I switched off to the world outside. I have to say the NHS have been fantastic, we are so lucky to have such a brilliant Health service that is a credit to The United Kingdom.

    Judging by all the horror stories about NHS delays, overloaded A and E departments, the impossibility of getting to see a GP or a specialist, long ambulance waiting times et al, you seem to have managed to buck the trend. Well done and good luck.

    Lee, my wife died of cancer. She was 45. She left it a bit too late to get checked out. And she was a gp. Thanks for relaying the message of getting yourself checked out if you have new, unusual symptoms. It sounds so obvious but many people just get on with it and like my late wife, leave it too late. Take care and 'look after Lee' for a change, Onward my friend. x

    Being told that you might have cancer after going in for something seemingly trivial comes as one hell of a shock. I had been having stomach problems for several months and wasn’t overly concerned, but as soon as the C word was mentioned, everything changed. I genuinely thought my life was over, because the symptoms I had been experiencing made cancer almost inevitable. I went into a strange few weeks of denial, depression and fear while I waited for various tests and procedures to be completed. Thankfully, like you, it turned out not to be cancer, which was obviously a massive relief. All the staff at the hospital were absolutely brilliant, even the ones who did the Colonoscopy (which I wouldn’t recommend) and I can’t thank them enough. All the best Lee and hope all goes well for you now you know it’s not cancer.

    If your blood sample has clotted, I'd suggest they shouldn't have taken you off blood thinners. The fact your bloods clotting suggests that the root cause maybe a recent medical intervention you've taken. I hope you make a full recovery, best wishes 🙏🏻

    • @purplepoppyz
      @purplepoppyz Год назад +15

      It’s absolutely common for blood tests to clot. Sometimes it’s because it was difficult to access the vein and took longer to take the blood, sometimes it’s because the blood has sat in the syringe too long before being put in the test bottle with EDT. Usually it has nothing to do with the patients actual blood.

    • @SaltimusMaximus
      @SaltimusMaximus Год назад +10

      If there has been a clot then you should certainly should be on them longer, I was on them for many months, I had to inject them for a while then went on to Warfarin. I was hospitalised twice after a blood clot

    I went through a horrific C scare, 6 years ago. Started with suspected heart attack, the scan revealed swollen lymph nodes, tests negative for lymphoma so lots of invasive biopsies and investigations later and no C. I treated it like a warning to live a better lifestyle, so I gave up drink, fags and started eating super healthy, cooking everything from scratch (including bread) and walking everywhere. Today I feel amazing. Gained a bit of weight though, probably because I stopped smoking 😂 Get well soon Lee 😊

    I hope you stay well Lee and wishing you all the best. I would suggest a plant based or plant heavy diet as well as cutting out processed food and added sugar.
    I am not a vegan or vegetarian or a tree hugging hippie, but around 80% of my diet is now plant based because of the health benefits alone. It's amazing how most people don't think too much about what they eat and how it can encourage illnesses later on. Fruits, veg, grains, legumes, nuts and seeds provide essential micro and macronutrients to our bodies that help to protect from, prevent and even reverse illnesses such as diabetes, asthma, heart disease, high blood pressure/cholesterol, arthritis, inflammation etc.
    It's saddens me to look at most people's shopping trolleys and seeing so much frozen, processed, sugar loaded food and so little fruit and veg. I wish people would take care of themselves more.

    Lee you look absolutely exhausted, worried and stressed which is understandable. Something we all have in common is none of use are getting any younger. You do a lot of travelling aboard, round the UK maybe your body is burnt out and was giving you a warning to slow down. Something that isn’t helping with stress levels is your milk float range anxiety, finding charging points, are any charging points available, are they working, charging times etc I’m guessing the stress caused by the milk float is doing more damage than alcohol. Fingers crossed The MacMaster will be back to 100% soon.

    I wouldn't say forget about You Tube but I will say for the good of your health reduce your output to a more easily manageable 2 or 3 videos per week which will afford you the opportunity to rest & relax more..also as I alluded to previously, with the food vlogs maybe consider only consuming 1/3 of what is on your plate..the other 2/3 box up and give to someone down on their luck who will appreciate it..
    Lee, you have been given a warning so please accept it as an indicator for change, not sweeping changes but small subtle changes...you aint daft and realise that..
    Take care pal..

    My best mates father has got the same symptoms and that’s what they thought he had. They have said now they don’t think it’s the big C but they still aren’t shore what it is.

    I remember hearing the "C" word in relation to my own health...it felt exactly like you described it my friend . 15th August 2006 I was diagnosed with Chronic Leukaemia aged 40 years old.....glad your diagnosis suggests this is not the case, but listening to you recounting your story brought it back to me.....I am now 57 by the way ,and , as you already know from my previous comment, working at the amazing hospital you are currently under. All the best , wishing you well mate 👍 😊

    Hi Lee, I dont know you personally but started watching your videos since doing them in Benidorm. I've paused the video at 8:20 and I cant say how much of a relief I had for you when you mentioned that news. I have seen similar with a close family member which went the opposite way and didn't end well. I am just glad you are ok and thing will get better for you fingers crossed! Take it easy and rest up, take a break from the videos and try and fully relax for a week or 2 too! PS we're so lucky to have the NHS!

    Hi hope you are better soon, you are lucky with the nhs, my experience was they were useless, I suppose it depends on which hospital, and where you are in the country,it took me three years for the result of a heart scan

    Lee I live near you if you want to meet for a Costa and a chat👍
    I was diagnosed with CLL Chronic Lymphatic Leukemia in 2012
    I go to Kings Mill quite a lot.
    Not saying you would have any issues,and hopefully you just need rest,but night sweats are a symptom..
    I didn't find through blood work as my bloods were in normal range..
    I had to go to Queens Med for an operation to remove a lymph node.
    It is in my bone marrow
    I'm still alive and kicking though 😊👍
