Here's something interesting you should know about lymph nodes and your immune system.
    Timestamps
    0:08 The lymphatic system
0:45 Most important lymph nodes function
    1:37 What's inside a lymph node?
4:50 What happens in the lymph node
5:25 What can cause issues with the lymphatic system?
In this video, we're going to talk about lymph nodes and your immune system.
You can think of the lymphatic system as a back-up drainage system to prevent excess fluid retention. But, this is just a minor function. The big function is the activation of the immune system.
One of the purposes of the lymph nodes is to keep a pathogen from spreading throughout the body. You will have an entire war going on within the lymph nodes if there is a pathogenic microbe.
A person has hundreds of lymph nodes throughout the body. Inside of a lymph node, there are lymphocytes. There are three primary lymphocytes:
    1. Natural killer cells (kill viral-infected cells)
    2. T cells (kill specific microbes and determine self from non-self)
    3. B cells (make antibodies)
    Inside of the lymph node:
    • There are a lot of antibody reactions going on
    • The immune system presents tiny parts of pathogens to the T cells
    • There is a lot of lymph-blood exchange
    • It filters certain cancer cells
The spleen is the largest lymph node. When someone has their spleen out, they have an increased risk of infection. Chronic stress activates cortisol, which then can shrink the lymphatic system. A zinc deficiency is another thing that can cause issues with the spleen and the entire lymphatic system.

@@pam5389 Dr. Berg has some videos on the thyroid. My experience, after decades of hypothyroidism, was that I need to increase my levels of zinc, iodine and selenium (which help the body convert thyroid hormones into usable forms), and help my liver function better. I used Milk Thistle to improve my liver function. I also made sure that I was getting enough of the essential amino acids to make enough thyroid hormones - tryptophan and tyrosine (eat turkey). It took a while, but I now have a healthy liver and thyroid after decades of being on synthetic thyroid hormones. I hope this helps.

Karen White Steamed cruciferous vegetables, and mainly a plant-based diet is what I found is best for fighting disease and cancer. Also a lot of information shows that typically cancer feeds off of carbs and sugar, so a good suggestion might be to reduce the carbs in your diet. Try to get all of your trace minerals in as well as your B vitamins. Remember, reducing the toxin level of the body and increasing the enzyme and nutrient level is always going to show benefits and results, I hope the best for you and I hope you can fight your illness off. Feared it was Cancer but thankfully it wasn’t. Never received a definitive answer from the lab? Doctor believed cat scratch fever was the culprit. Tested her for everything under the sun including TB, and other serious infectious diseases. All negative. Once it was removed her chronic fatigue went away.

Suzanna 2014 Thanks. I don’t know if it could of played out any better. My wife is into holistic remedies. She lived with that condition for months, actually from February to July, trying various natural solutions and waiting it out. We went through four different doctors before settling on the one. Of course the other doctors all wanted to remove it for biopsy asap. But at least the doctor we chose tested her for basically every possible underlying issue instead of just rushing her into surgery. Through examination he did not believe it was Cancer. During that ordeal my wife was like a different person, seriously fatigued, sleeping all day. Glad to have her back! Just wish we had a definitive answer on what it was. We were told the lymph node is similar to a dumping ground for bacteria - sometimes when the bad guy gets in he doesn’t want to leave. Sounds childish but I guess it kind of sums it up.

At this point, I would need a book to explain the rest. But do note other cancers feed on ketones. One function of the lymphatic system is to dispose of cellular waste from tissue and the blood stream through lymph fluid. When lymphedema is present, toxins in that cellular waste are building up in the body and can cause considerable damage, including cancer. The longer someone has lymphedema, the more damage is does. The number one cause of lymphedema in the U.S. is lymph node removal as the standard of care for cancer treatment. This practice is absolutely barbaric and has no medical benefit to the patient. It only diagnoses the stage of cancer, when actually the lymph nodes are functioning properly if they are filtering cancer cells. I honestly cannot understand why oncology doesn't understand this concept and continues to leave millions of people deformed and dealing with secondary lymphedema. Unfortunately, I learn the hard way after sumcumbing to pressure from my surgeon. I only hope that other cancer patients have the knowledge when faced with difficult decisions in vulnerable circumstances. Thank you for informing followers on the importance of the lymphatic system. Lymph nodes are precious! Removing them should be criminal.

Hey Dr berg I’m 21 I have bad seborrheic dermatitis and I’m experiencing a decent amount of hairloss my
Hair is dry brittle and getting a bit thin. It is missing oil it seems it is easy to come out as well and most can’t even stand on its own. I do still have non alcoholic fatty liver because I’m overweight. I been watching your videos these past few days I’m just so scared I’ll lose more hair if I start keto but I really want to because of the benefits plz can u give me advice and if I need to fast how long and how many days etc. I don’t want to lose my hair I’m so young but I just don’t understand why this diet could cause hairloss and like why I would need to take so many things to prevent it I just want to be healthy I also have a bit of asthma

I would start the keto diet, the hair loss could be a result of alopecia. Dr Berg has many videos on this subject

Y2K my hairloss isn’t in patches around my head my hairloss is just around the temples of my hairline. My hair is beyond dry brittle loose and I can rub it and it falls out easily. Flaking around the brows and my seborrheic dermatitis doesn’t help this

Dr. Berg, what do you think about Sentinel Lymph Node Biopsy for cancer staging? It removes one, or a couple of nodes to check for micro-metastases. Side effects include lymphoedema, but what about muscle strength and endurance? From my point of view, we neglect this also cuts off the lymphatic network. Are there alternatives doctors don’t talk about? Would like your take on this practice. Thank you.

As a life long farmer who also has autoimmune issues I have come to see that the immune system is misnamed, it is in my eyes more a system for controlling subcontractors...meaning that what we call pathogens are really invited into the body to remove build up of various waste/old tissue but then the "immune system" is there to insure this is done correctly. Not a war at all.
Also the need to relie on the 'subcontractors" comes from not being what I call pious: that is feasting, fasting, sunbathing, and cultivating rest and digest correctly?
    What do you think?
Enjoy learning about the spleen...been eating them along with other organs since I was small, good to know what it does not just where to find it and how to cook it(which is used just like liver) 😊

From Sydney Australia, I've just started watching your amazing channel and have been slowly realising the issues/possible causes for my health issues...
I've been watching your uploads and I just started taking Apple cider vinegar supplements 1250mg before each meal as well vitamin d, b1, sea kelp, zinc and k2 to hopefully help with the many problems I have...
I'm noticing that my thirst has massively increased along with frequent urination and my throat constantly feels dry and tight and my stomach started becoming less bloated and I'm less constipated...
But then I started doing the acupressure on my stomach due to right side neck and right hip/butt pain, after doing the acupressure my stomach has become very bloated and hard ...
I'm not sure if this is a natural reaction I really don't know what's going on...
I completed your quiz and got thyroid body type the problem is I started gaining weight at the same time I was living with a lot of stress and also started eating excessive sugar cause I had no energy so it's hard for me to know what triggered it..
    I'm just wondering whats happening...
The Apple cider vinegar is starting to lesson my severe acid reflux but it's not eliminating it...
I should add that I'm still eating badly and need to change my diet...
I've ordered the thyroid pack and just waiting for it to be delivered...
Just wondering if there's anything u could possibly tell me about these symptoms...
Not sure if u will see this comment but desperately hoping for some advice...
Thank u for such life changing content...
    Much love from Sydney Australia
    Cheers
    K

I'm not a dr..but would recommend you switch over to a keto based diet. Healthwise it is amazing... also cut out sugar... i cannot believe the difference in my general health since changing my diet to keto.
Dr Berg is amazing...he did an amazing clip on cabbages and also recommend sauerkraut which boosts your immune system.. which i have now added to at least one meal a day. I do intermittent fasting..have last meal at 7pm at night and only have a bullet coffee or tea for breakfast and lunch after 12pm..so only eat 2 meals a day.

hey Dr Berg, I have a question, after my pregnancy I got a serious breast infection, then I got a lump under my armpit that I wanted to have examined, I also had my breast implants for ten years and I wanted to have them checked , my breast implants turned out to be leaking and it's in my lymph nodes under my armpit 😰 I had the implants completely removed and I feel very relieved 🙏🏻 but the silicone in my lymph nodes under my armpit is starting to hurt... is there anything to detox the lymph nodes? I am very afraid that I will develop cancer because of this, it is in two lymph nodes that I can have removed or leave in place..
