@@jeremy8715 Last I talked to the owner he was happy with the Chevy 4.3 .. There's a clip in the video where the guys toy with the idea of a 5.3. See you on the trail.
Love this build. He's built a very functional Jeep with some creativity and a ton of skill. I really enjoy seeing Jeeps that are owner built (by hand) rather than bought or owner built (by checkbook).
Completely agree with you. We've got more videos of this willys if your interested - search the videos on this channel and SUBSCRIBE to see more as the summer wheel'en season is right around the corner.
I have been looking videos and pic in internet of project of Jeep Willys cus I have a project of a 1952 Willys and this the most beautiful project I ever seen in a Willys the geometric and the parts he put on it just perfect 👌
Thanks Dylan - glad that you enjoyed the videos.. our club will be out on the trail again this weekend - hosting our Winter run. Initial reports are about 1 foot of snow on the ground and icy conditions with recent rains - look for a new video on Sunday night. -- See you on the trial.
yes it is! -- thanks for the comment I'll be looking to get more footage of this rig on the trail later this summer - if you like SUBSCRIBED do get notified.
thanks for the comment! I believe that sliders are incorporated into the frame (but don't extend beyond the frame) - check out the video at 5:09 - the sliders take a good hit.
Yea i saw that which was why i made the comment....but you are right that hit on the panel took it like a champ so if they are integrated in the body line then that is just SWEET
Nice body work and engine sounds great! Can you tell US the exhaust modifications you made to get that and for rock crawling I would suggest the suspension and body lift are a bit low. What do you think?
thanks for the comment. I'll have to check with the builder to get the exhaust specs. The Builder had intentionally kept this rig with very little lift - attempting to maintain the orig willys look and use one of his other jeeps for more extreme trail riding.
Adebowale Adesida Had a relative that pedaled Jeeps thru N Africa, Sicily, the length of Italy, France, Belgium, and thru out Japan during the occupation. "All i had was GI tires, no lift, and Jerry using me for target practice. How much lift you think you need there Dingus"? I heard him say that to my Dad in the late 60s. Its gospel imo.
Very, very nice! Beautiful job. Love that rock crawling gear ratio. I've got a 48' also with that 4.3, but with the chev auto behind it. Not near as pretty as yours, but you can check it out here: ruclips.net/video/_pq11k7sdD8/видео.html

MNTrailRiders what were the axles? Factory D44? Please advise
swapped toyota axles
Wouldn't 33x10.5R15 be a better choice? Looks like with the 35s" you have limit articulation.
Have you giving any thought to a 1.9 TDI swap?

I would like to see more of this jeep for sure I think it’s perfect !!
Really cool trick with raising the front fenders to keep the cg down
Willy's is what started the off-road phenomenon!True LEGEND!
That's true
Attention to detail is insane.
Well done! Solid build!
Thanks for sharing!
That is one seriously nice rig! Both beautiful and capable.

Holy crap a real JEEP

Id love to see the underneath and check out all the suspension geometry, I'm looking to make a 3 link system up front on mine
5:07 That hurts! great beast!
Have mercy that's awesome!

Indeed,agree 100%!!!!
Awesome rig!
yes awsome ... turns a lot of heads. thanks for the comment Jaime
very nicely done.
very fun rig Metcalf - I hope to get more video of this Willy's out on the trail this summer - thanks for your comment
I have one that is built pretty similar. I love seeing these old things getting back out on the trail.
Now all it needs is some custom sliders and all set!
thanks for the comment! I believe that sliders are incorporated into the frame (but don't extend beyond the frame) - check out the video at 5:09 - the sliders take a good hit.

Does Paul have a build on a forum somewhere this remind me of Brennan metcalf jeep

How does it feel on the highway
Thou shalt not want ... but I'm in love.
Is the body metal or fiberglass?
All Metal body. The builder is a welder by trade so a good fit for him.
Me encanta los camperos wuillis
Real jeeps were always the best ! Mahindra just made a copy!
Wanna b's! U R correct,original JEEP,all AMERICAN, all the way!
Nice Willys
Seeing that you have Corbeau seats. Do you know partnumers are the names of these.
Øyvind Bredesen Those are Baja SS low backs
Awsome !
What are the Toyota axles out of ?
Needs rock sliders, and a little more lift. also, maybe air down the tires a little more?
75:1 final low range ratio 👍
agreed. love to see this transmission in low gear and idling up climbs or over rocks.
What Axles is Toyota car model?😅
I knew there's a V6 as strong as a V8.
had a 46 cj2a flat fender, pure stock, 5 digit serial#. went anywhere
.. bet that was a fun rig.
Could you put me in touch with the owner?
What seats are those?
Anybody know what wheel base he used?
Hey Old Griz - I'll ask the owner and reply on back
from the owner/builder wheel base is 90"
@@MNTrailRiders , I'd say he found a great combination on it.
Thanks for the quick response!
Hey I’d like to know how much he stretched the tub and where, looks like the door opening may have been stretched
He needs some rock sliders bad
