I remember watching ESC 2003, I just saw interview with Brendan Murray who told Mickey Harte's performance was his first ESC memory. Nice music from Ireland.
I can't believe it was that long ago (2003). It was one of the better Irish entries of that era. It deserved a slightly higher finishing place, but not to win.
He says "Actually this song won the competition once already as 'Fly on the wings of love' by the Olsen Brothers. But our Irish friends can really sing both on stage and in the bar." It's probably meant to be funny but it's disrespectful.
I remember this so well! I was actually in the crowd. I remember locking eyes with Mickey while he sang. We peered into one another's eyes for what seemed for like an eternity. My legs grew weak from the strain of matching his gaze, until everything went dark. It was sometime later that I was nudged back awake by a Portuguese couple and by that time his performance had long since finished. Even though I was never able to witness the end of his wonderful singing live, I have this video. This video and my memory to commemorate the time I was seen by one of God's most heavenly creations. Mickey Joe Harte, I'll never forget you. Edit: Sorry, wrong Mickey Joe Harte
@@peakyfoknblinder174 Please send cheesy romantic ballads again like in the 80s and 90s. That's what we wanna see and hear from Ireland! Not kidding!!!
Loved this song, he's so cute to. To think the same process came up with Chris Doran and Donna and Joe. I think if this song got a later draw it would have done better in the placings.
Irelands best song since we last won eurovision.
I remember watching ESC 2003, I just saw interview with Brendan Murray who told Mickey Harte's performance was his first ESC memory. Nice music from Ireland.
Mickey Harte's performance is also my first ESC memory and i'm even not Brendan Murray.
Haha no way this is my first Eurovision memory too!!
Makes me think of the beauty of the people and nature throughout this world. Great Irish entry!
I love how he sings this as though he's just won and this is the reprise
Definitely NO ! This song stolen from fly on the wings of love and didnt deserves to win eurovision 11th place too good for Mickey.
He did win! We're listening years after hahaha
Lol I just listened we are the winners of Eurovision and now this 😂😂😂 these songs have a similar vibe
Mickey Joe has often said “Play every gig as if it’s your last”
Beautiful song! at least in top5 ..Love from Greece.
Happier times compared to now.
Now this brings back some memories....
So far i actually think that this is the best Irish song in esc this century :)

You're a Star
Very similar to olsen brothers fly on the wings of love
I agree, total rip-off!
+nannasmor but it is still the best entry we have ever sent. It sounds nothing like Olsen Brothers.
+Liam Holton Fully agree Liam. Would've made an excellent 8th win for us!
Ryan Dolan was my ultimate hope of a 8th win in 2013, and now my hopes lie on the shoulders of Nicky Byrne!
Liam Holton I'd say Nicky will finish between 7th-12th in the final. Ryan definitely deserved higher than last it was unbelievable :/
When Eurovision was good
Fly on the wings of love....... lol
I loved this Irish entry and still do. Does Mickey Harte remind anybody else of Darius Campbell (Danesh) or just me?
How unreal it that. Still in 2020 it's amazing
thats my 2nd uncle go micky
Go on the Irish
got my first ladyboner to this back in the day. just sayin

Brian Kennedy, Jedward, Ryan Dolan, Nicky Byrne, Brendan Murray, and Lesley Roy were the best. Your country takes music seriously.

Denmark 2000... It was the SAME song :D
Barry Rafter he says that is a copy from the olsen brothers :P.
Barry Rafter it won in 2000 fly on the wings

This isn't so much influenced by Fly On The Wings of Love as outright plagiarism. I'm amazed the Olsen Brothers haven't come after him for royalties.

Coz they're fucking gorgeous!
woww this is the epitome of eurovision cheese! They don't make them like this anymore.......
Bonita cancion
This was Ireland's only good ESC song in the 21st century imo.
there’s been a some good entries but due to the corruption of the eurovision they’ve either not qualified or can close to last
Shame it was a blatant rip off of "Fly on the wings of love".
Stolen from Denmark 2000
Ireland must love copying Danish winning songs. I mean this with Olsen Brothers and Can Linn with Only teardrops. :P
This is from 2003!
Mate Only Teardrops is a ripoff of Irish Celtic Music in general. See Eimear Quinns The Voice which won in 1996.
Eurovision is awful now Sweden Russia the usual crap fixes and not even about songs nowadays
