Never heard of Kamala Harris before (living in Germany) but I really like her. I think it would be a good idea if the Democrats would make her run for president.

No, it is not that simple. He is under oath. He probably has talked to many lawyers and doesn't remember where they all work. It might never even come up in conversation. He figured she had someone that he talked to that worked or works at the firm and he didn't want to perjure himself.

That question is predicated that he knows every employee at that law firm (250+ people). he could have been discussing the case at a party with strangers and someone who's name he did not know worked at the firm.

Law that regulates male bodies: Selective Service Act of 1917, which to this day requires men (not women) at the age of 18 to register for a potential draft. If called to service, men (not women) are forced under penalty of law into the armed forces, where they could very likely have their bodies destroyed in the field of battle.

Clifford Yuen - No, it was a very broad question about discussions about a daily topic of discussion, but with anybody who works at a law firm when he's a lawyer who talks with many others and may not recall exactly which firm they all work for. She could have asked a direct question, but kept it vague as a lame trap that won't entrap unless she has details and then he denies those details.

Any well trained HR professional knows when a candidate struggles through a job interview like this guy did (no matter how good they look on paper), that’s a red flag and they should keep the position open until a more qualified candidate comes along. Keep in mind this Kavanaugh character is a judge! How could he not have diplomatic and better informed answers to those questions, however tough. Seems he was ill-prepared because he has been assured of a confirmation regardless of confirmation hearing outcome. Any and every American who loves this country should truly be worried.

They spend all day firing all kinds of questions at you so that by the time you're at the actual hearing, you are hopefully prepared with answers for whatever questions may come up. The fact that he did not have good answers prepared for what seem like such predictable questions (of COURSE the Democrats were going to ask questions related to the Mueller investigation proceedings) suggests that he didn't really undergo any such preparation and was, as the OP suggested, more or less assured that the seat would be his regardless of how well he performed in the hearing.

There are laws that deny people access to experimental medical treatments not yet approved by the FDA. These are laws that prevent making decisions over their own bodies. It also applies to women but there was nothing in the Senators question that said it needed to apply exclusively to men, only that it had to apply to men.

Riding a motorcycle without a helmet
Drinking laws
All these laws prevent people from making decisions about their own bodies. Men are people too.

I think you missed the point on the second topic, though. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to infer that she was referring to laws specific to the male gender. She probably didn't make that explicit because she felt safe in assuming that most or all other people in the room were at least intelligent enough to detect the implicit exclusivity of her question. I suspect that anyone who apparently doesn't take her obvious implication into account is either really dumb or attempting to weasel out on a technicality. I would wager that none of the examples you gave are in fact exclusive to men.
