Thanks Nemanja . I'm writing a novel using the word Vignette in the title. I like that the technique adds focus and you demonstrated this well.

I first thought I liked the shape method to create a vignette then I liked layer style method, especially on a solid color layer. Then the one I’m most familiar with “Camera Raw” by the end I liked all six methods. . . . thanks for another enlightening tutorial. 👍🏽👍🏽

Hi buddy i really enjoyed this weeks tutorial on vingettes. I used to think they were easy to create... untill i wanted a good one to create certain impact on my photo, then realised they need to be created with some degree of thought.
You really helped with this for sure, many many thanks.
    Have a brilliant weekend 💪👍🏻🖖

Try using gradient on separate layers for all four sides and change layer from normal to multiply and adjust opacity. Takes a bit longer but gives more control. You can add more layers for shadows and easily transform them for perspective. Great tutorial.

Nice. Before this I used to create one rectangle per side and do a black to transparent color fade. Great tutorial!

This is just SO brilliant and right to the point. I love the different methods as that come in handy in different variants of projects. Thanks again. I love to see the other methods than the ones I'm used to so I don't get stuck in my own ingrown ways, so when the title said you'd show 6 different ways I was really intrigued. Actually I have never used the first method, but it is really useful for some uncharacteristic shapes of the vignette to be able to make it in free hand. I always use to dow it with the oval selection tool, but to do it with a brush (or eraser) seems really clever if you want even more control. I can see you are also using a wacom Intuos Pro tablet, which makes particularly the painting/erasing methods easy. I also use the Intuos Pro, and I don't know how to live without it now. The precision compared to a mouse are outstanding. Thanks again for a beautiful tutorial.

you can also duplicate the main layer, set the copy to multiply, and then remove the middle with a feather lasso or use a layer mask to softly hide the middle of the copy layer.

I cannot get the "subtract front shape" to work. My black ellipse will not turn back to light. All my settings are similar to yours so I don't know what's different.

When I double-click on background copy and choose Gradient Overlay from the Layer Style dialog box, my image is completely white, even though my background color is set to black. Plus, in your preview I see the gradient. In my preview I only see a white box. Plus, the Blend Mode does not change from Normal to Gradient, like it did for you. What am I doing wrong?
