Most people still haven't played or even know about the original games. There are idiots who still refer to Ragnarok as "God of War 2" when it's the 5th GOW game, not including the smaller games like Ascension etc. I wasn't expecting Kratos to say no immediately, but it makes perfect sense for his character. No fuckin way he's making a deal of any kind with Odin.
God I remember when people were trying to paint that one punch as Kratos having Thor running scared. Dude straight went hand to hand for most of the fight, shrugged off the Leviathan Axe and punches like they were nothing, gets ONE good shot in on Kratos that straight kills him and is straight fucking crazy enough to bring him back to life just to carry on the fight. On god the best antagonist/character they could have ever paired with Kratos.
@@ave390 I know. As cool as it was, I don't think it should have made the cut. It devalued Kratos' power as an all powerful God Slayer.Its also a huge disappointment that we didn't get to weild Mjolnir. I went through the entire game expecting to use that :(

Funny how surprised people were when Kratos declines Odins offer for peace. Especially when one considers what a ruthless, cold and cruel manipulator this man is. The All-Father is a much more dangerous god than Zeus, Kronos, Athena or Ares or any other god Kratos encountered.
Kratos been holding his true power at the start of the fight. It is not that he does not want to show it, the reason is that his true power comes from great rage and anger that ressembles his old self. He does not want to go back to what he is from the past. He wants to be a better person. That's why he kept holding back.
That and he has no real quarrel with the norse gods they just kept getting in his way when all he wanted was to be left alone where as the greek gods basically ruined his life
when thor says” consider your blood debt paid” is because by making him revert to his “god of war” rage he in essence kills the new clamer version kratos. he makes him go back to the person he used to be and not the one kratos wants to be. in my opinion at least

I guarantee you they have confirmed that he can die in battle when he MAKES SUCH A BIG DEAL about the Jotunheim prophecy of him dead in Atreus’s arms.
