    30 % of DA's voters are Coloureds and we are seeing how the DA wants to exclude Coloured Parties from having a voice. We also see how only 3 Coloureds made it to Parliament in the DA. All of this is well noted!!!

      Very far from the truth, if any of you were around before elections the DA had been in pains talking about a doomsday coalition, coloured party .....not sure by the way de Lille has been working with Ramaphosa, if 30% of coloured people vote how many vote for other parties....I think the idea of tribal politics is exaggerated by some of you.

    RISE MNANZI JUST JOINED. NOW WE NEED BOSA, ACTION SA, NCC, AL JAMAA AND ATM TO COME ON BOARD. DA THOUGHT THEY WERE GOING TO BE THE ONLY BRIDE. Gayton hinted EFF might join as well. I see DA sitting in the opposition benches soon.

      The ANC couldn't do that in the first place. DA had already labelled a prospective coalition between ANC/MK/EFF as a "Doomsday coalition". This prompted the ANC forming a coalition with the DA.

    Pierre, this time you got it wrong , because all parties who joined first have the right to consultation. Parties who joined afterwards will also have to be consulted who will or can join the GNU. This is how it works not you explained it.

  • @mandlenkosishabalala8890
    @mandlenkosishabalala8890 4 месяца назад +3

    It is on record that the ANC invited different parties to form GNU. The DA was the first party to be invited and to agree to be part of GNU. Other political parties were invited and likewise agreed to form part of GNU. It is not the prerogative of any single party to deny or question the joining of a party to GNU. If there was a Grand Coalition agreement between the ANC and the DA,the DA would be correct in insisting on it to be consulted in case the Grand Coalition was expanded. That would have been automatically done as there would be only two parties in the Coalition. This time around, Helen Zille not the DA is playing a party politicking card.

    What is the DA scared of???? The PA has promised scrutiny???? Sounds suspicious that DA objecting so loudly. Again the secrecy in the process. Nice way to start a new government process. What we’ve seen of the chaos in council and the assembly by EFF is an example of the future. DA needs to pull their head in.

    • @jthehorn441
      @jthehorn441 4 месяца назад

      I think its more of the principle at play. If we remember the 1994-1997 GNU fell apart because the ANC did whatever the hell the wanted without consulting their partners.

      Go back 3 years + to see the multiple double crossing of Gayton McKenzie
      ... that prompted the DA to refrain from including the PA in any government.
      Gayton is an unreliable deceiver and will continue to do so!
      He is loosing support now ... as can be seen in the latest by election in Beaufort West.
      PA will soon disappear!
      Gayton gave the PA a BAD NAME long time ago!

      @@jthehorn441 but they walked rough shod because they were majority, no votes could oppose them. Thats why so much corruption was covered up. Failing infrastructure was always rescued to the detriment of all service provision. If the whole floor votes in favour of well researched policies and not party devotion the country will be well on the way to recovery in 5 years time and the next election will see the people knowing how their votes will count.

      Problem with these many new members if valid it will dilute D.A.'s influence in the pact and if they pull out it means they wasted their votes to put Cyril in place and this is only national.

    • @cheznone9296
      @cheznone9296 4 месяца назад

      Yes, but the DA acting like the PA are not entitled to a place at the table in the first instance - the exclusionary practice brings the level of the DA down to the very minor seats who refuse to work with DA. so if Gayton negotiates to give his numbers to a party who wants a portfolio in exchange for their vote for a portfolio he wants that would put Zilla at a particular disadvantage ne. Gayton is much stronger than leader of DA in terms of putting things right. Steenhuisen won’t win many debates against Gayton.
