  • How to cook collard greens in a pressure cooker. An electric pressure cooker makes cooking collard greens easy and fast. Collard greens are one of the healthiest greens you can eat.
    Collard greens are a very good source of vitamin B1, vitamin B6, and iron. They are also a good source of vitamin E, copper, protein, magnesium, phosphorus, vitamin B5, folate, omega-3 fatty acids, niacin, vitamin B1, and potassium.

    Collard Greens and Smoked Turkey Wing - In the Instant Pot Pressure Cooker
    INGREDIENTS
    2 LBS of shredded collard greens. You can buy a couple of bunches, clean them thoroughly and chop them up or you can get the collards already cleaned and cut. I like to simplify my life as much as possible
    2 tablespoons of olive oil - Just to cover the bottom of the pot
    1 medium onion - diced
    1 tablespoon of No salt seasoning
    1 tablespoon of Onion Powder
    1 tablespoon of Toasted Onion and Garlic (Chef Paul Prudhomme Magic Seasoning Blend) - Salt-Free and Sugar-Free
    ½ teaspoon of Ground Sage
    A pinch of Red Pepper Flakes - Or to taste
    4 cups of Better than Bullion - Chicken Flavored - Follow directions/ or Use Chicken Broth
    1 teaspoon of chopped garlic
    ½ of Ground Thyme
    ½ Teaspoon of Garlic Powder
    ½ Teaspoon of Garlic and Parsley - If you desire
    ½ teaspoon of Seasoning Salt.
    Later Salt to taste.
    1. Rinse off your smoked Turkey Wing.
    2. Rinse off your collard greens. Make sure they are very clean and chopped
    3. Turn your electric pressure cooker on to sauté.
    4. Add your Olive Oil, then your chopped onion. Let your onion soften
    5. Add all your seasonings, then add your Chicken Broth
    6. Add you Turkey Wing and Pressure cook it for 30 minutes on HIGH
    7. After pressure is released, remove your turkey wing from the pot and chop it up with a fork and knife. Add back to the pot, except the bones
    8. Add your shredded, clean collards to the pot. If you have a pot smaller than 8 quarts; let them collard greens melt down a bit and you can add more.
    9. Put the pot back on high pressure for another 30 minutes
    10. After pressure is released, stir and enjoy!!

      Don't claim that nonsense. What a horrible way to season collards. Ghetto is to good if a word to use for the way she violated them greens. Don't make sense at all.💞💞

    • @AATurner
      @AATurner 5 лет назад +4

      H Harris There is no need to be rude to this woman. If you don’t like your greens to be this seasoned, don’t follow her recipe. She didn’t add anything “ghetto” in terms of spices or anything else for that matter.

    • @arkyred
      @arkyred 5 лет назад

      Who talking to you. Get off my post. You can't cook either if you feel she put all that in a pot of collards. Its still just the whole spice cabinet.#throwitallinthere. I said what I said!🐜🐛🐉🦅🐞put some bugs in the pot too.

    • @AATurner
      @AATurner 5 лет назад +4

      H Harris given that you replied to someone else’s post to write your mean comment, take your own advice. I said what said as well. 🗣🗣 If you don’t like her recipe, don’t follow it. She is using the spices in lieu of adding a ton of salt and fat to flavor HER greens. She isn’t cooking them for you, so why don’t you just troll on off to someone else’s recipe. Leave this woman in peace to just cook what SHE likes. Oh and if you think adding a lot of spices is equal to putting bugs in, I wouldn’t even want you to bring plates to a family meal... You might mess that up too. 🙄

    Amazing recipe and directions. I probably didn't chop my greens thin enough because 30 minutes wasn't a long enough cook time but that wasn't a probably as I continued to cook the greens on the bean setting for the remainder of time.

      LOL! DK, I truly have been cooking since I could reach the stove. When you're number 6 of 8 with a lot of nieces and nephew who are almost the same age as you...there are a lot of people who need to eat. I had to help my mom in the kitchen. As a matter of fact, she had me in the grocery store when I was 10 years old, with a list and almost the exact amount of money for the food. I can't tell you how many times I over rang on my order. But I took things off and got what she asked for, and a couple of things that I wanted. I think I am going to use this information on my website. That's right, you have to start visiting my website. It's www.StephanieSoulKitchen.com. Now to answer your question, I use LaFlor Onion and Garlic Seasonings, mostly because I buy in bulk because I use a lot. They are reasonably priced and good quality. You have to come over sometimes when I have a gathering at my house. Thank you for your comments DK!!

    How many Pounds of Turkey wings you put in the Crockpot Ms. Stephanie kitchen.

    • @StephaniesKitchen
      @StephaniesKitchen  Год назад

      Hi Geeman36. When I make collard greens how much smoked turkey would depend on how much collards I have. It doesn't matter if you put a lot if you'll be eating the turkey wings. But normally I would put 1 smoked wing or thigh in there or 2 necks or butts. I hope that answered your question.

      @StephaniesKitchen  Год назад

    • @wilbertmurry6570
      @wilbertmurry6570 Год назад +1

      I get three 10 ounce bags of collard greens in it, and have some leftover to put in the freezer for another day. I live alone so the 6 quart size will work. I was thinking about when cooking for a lot of people which doesn’t happen that often and when I does I can cook on the stovetop in a larger pot.

    • @StephaniesKitchen
      @StephaniesKitchen  Год назад

      @@wilbertmurry6570 Lol 😂 Once you use the Instant pot, it’s hard to go back. Also, those green are even better later. So if you know ahead of time you can make more than one batch and refrigerate or freeze. Also, you can fit more in the pot, just let them start to wilt and then and more greens before you put it on pressure again.😉

    I enjoyed the video except for all that seasonings killed the flavor of those greens, I think there’s something wrong with a person who empties all her pantry and can’t even enjoy the greens, I love my greens but I put salt and pepper and salt pork and onions and smoked turkey necks, I can taste the greens and my mother in law knew how to cook because she came from the south and knew how to cook them greens
