www.vincentboot... - After the kayak hull has been stitched with wires, the wires can be removed and replaced by tape. For us, stretchable Scotch Insulating Tape 8886 Transparent (55m x 36mm) worked well for this purpose, stabilizing the hull geometry well. Subsequent application of the ffillets on the hull seams is much easier without the wires.
