Synopsis:
Hailed as one of the best sci-fi novels of the decade, “Dark Matter” is a story about the road not taken. The series will follow Jason Dessen (played by Joel Edgerton), a physicist, professor and family man who - one night while walking home on the streets of Chicago - is abducted into an alternate version of his life. Good review/recap-except, have you No Children? Do you really find it strange that a 17 year old boy keeps secrets from his parents? That Charlie has friends, and went places that his parents don’t know is the Most realistic thing in the series.
Again, great review.
Update: there’s an interview with Blake Crouch (the book author/show runner of the tv series) says that IF there is a second season, it will focus on Amanda and Ryan. Apparently, Amanda’s character is a HUGE fan favorite of the people who have read the book-and the #1 question that Blake gets is “What happened to Amanda in her New World? Is she happy?”

I don’t think it would be weird for a teenager to have friends the parents don’t know about, but to have a friend whose vacation house (maybe it was just their normal house, but it was far away) he had been to so many times he knew the security code would be surprising. Charlie doesn’t eve have his license so his friend would have had to pick him up and drop him off. Don’t you think the parents might have wondered who this person was? But again, it’s needed for the story to work so I’m ok with it!
Ohhhh, I would totally watch more of Amanda and Ryan. Like I said in a previous episode I think Jason probably should have stayed in paradise world rather than risk getting stuck in limbo with 3 ampules left.
