Even on his TED talk he isn't in this good of a mood and this talkative. This is a great video of a side of David we usually don't see. It's because he is always training for his stunts and he has to meditate and get into a very zen state so he is usually very calm, quite, and mysterious
I met David Blaine as a teen. Shortly after I became disabled. He was about 16 or 17. He used to walk up and down Broadway in Grenwich Village. He strongly resembled a classmate and I went up to him thinking he was what I found out was his cousin. He did magic tricks for me... eventually for a few months, I'd go to the village and when I'd see him I'd hang with him while he performed tricks . Even that young he just LOVED entertaining people. He was always humble. A decade later I'm seeing him on cable TV and I ask myself why he looks so familiar. He had his own special. Then one day he did a show where he was back on his old stomping grounds performing tricks. But by this time he was a magic superstar... But seeing him in his environment, I realized that was the dude I chilled with for a few months on occasion in the village. It felt awesome to realize that his amazing magic took him so far in life... God bless him.
These kind of Rogan interviews are historic, people will watch this 100 years from now. Where else can you listen to David Blaine for 2 hours without a cut to commercial. Yeah, Rogan goes off the rails plenty but this is why he is at the top of his field.

The way this librarian’s sincere encouragement, and his mom’s enthusiastic reaction and genuine support of her son’s interests changed the trajectory of a young kid’s life. We should all strive to be that adult in a child’s life. It absolutely makes a difference. I guarantee everyone watching right now is either thinking of the adult who filled that role in their young life, or they are wishing they had a supportive, encouraging adult role model who actually took an active interest in their life and their hobbies. They are also thinking of all the ways their life might have turned out differently if they had any semblance of guidance as a kid. Be that adult. It matters.
I am the later. I never had anyone support me. My mom left when I was like 10yrs old and my father worked as a fireman so he would be gone 24hrs every 2 days and he was the opposite of a encouraging parent. Any dream I had was instantly shot down by him saying it is just a silly dream or I couldn't do it, it would be to hard, it will never happen, your odds are so low and or you know how many people try and fail... You should just stop give up and just focus on a regular job and live a normal life. He did not like what i had a pashon for which was bodybuilding. I was a skinny 160lb 15yr old when I showed him a picture of one of my favorite bodybuilders named Kevin Levrone he just looked and said you will never look like that. I used his and everyone's negativity to fuel my motivation to workout and diet wanting to prove all the naysayers wrong it took my years to reach 230lbs lean with 20in arms and during that time bulking getting a lil fat people still doubted me thinking I didn't know what I was doing. Not until I actually looked like a bodybuilder at 230-240lbs lean with 20in arms. Now I want to get on stage and compete which will be lonely for me. Other bodybuilders have there family going to there shows encouraging them. I will not have any family in the crowd. Its ok though . sorry about the rant I just needed to write and tell someone to get this out of me and I feel better lol
@White Balls it's almost like you didn't read this comment, nor did you understand this podcast at all if you think it had any sort of political message behind it. Comprehension can be difficult, I know, but I mean come on, it was a podcast with David Blaine. What did your ears hear exactly?
When I was younger I thought David Blaine was so emotionless because of his facial expressions but this shows clear as day how passionate he is about his work! Cool af guy
He’s explained in a special that facial expressions are a teller & are “70” percent of the magic trick. It’s all abt getting the viewers attention to where you want it directed. For instance, if u ever watch his old street card trick vids.. He never wears sun shades nor do tricks on people with shades.. He later explained he must see where there eyes r looking.
David is still kind of like a kid, no matter how many times he’s seen a trick or is performing one he seems so happy, he was born to be a magician and nothing else.
It's so rare to see someone so genuinely excited about what he does, you can see the passion radiating from him when he's telling these stories. Truly a great episode and a legendary magician.
Exactly my thoughts at 14:36 when he asks with a big smile on "you really wanna hear all this". And how happy he is when joeys says yeah sure haha, you really seeing that he loves what he is doing. Lovely dude.
Yeah he's the man ... And don't forget, he's part of the rat pack w Leo and Toby and them so you know he's got stories for days but he keeps it quiet. Definitely loves doing what he does!
@@listentothedead I'm with you on that. He's not bad for someone in his position, but he could use some humility to improve on his convorsation skills.
I just had to stop the video at 37:36 to say, David Blaine, you understand the meaning of the human experience. Not too many people do and that's the real magic in life....is in the understanding of the purpose fundamentally. God gave you intuition, you used that as a guiding compass as your life purpose. It's magical to not only understand but perfect your gift and to incorporate the healing powers of nuetrality. At the root of all of us is love. God bless you.
@@donaldmack2307 honestly, she probably was shocked. Those tricks where someones picks a card and puts it back and you find it, its a lot more difficult and its surprising to see a young kid do it to you... Well he is excited to be in Joe rogans podcast which will hopefully have a ripple effect and increase his current career situation..I mean David Blaine is David Blaine and he is already known but people go under radar in a sense and sometimes they need something such as going into the most viewed podcast in the country...but yes he seems happy to be talking about himself and his career

He’s wily n happy but very knowledgeable. We must not lose this one. I wonder what else his mind is about if he thinks this way . Aside from magic tricks he is a thinker
It seems to me that hes very happy with how his career has brought him consistent joy and purpose and when his career was beginning and unsure he didnt have as much time invested and success acheived
Despite his best efforts to derail conversations he keeps pulling better and better guests. Keeps me coming back in spite of Joe's faux intellectualism and huge blinders.
There is something so humbling, to watch someone like David Blaine, giddy like a child. The man is an icon, that will never forget the journey it took to get there.
David Blaine really is a Wizard, I was super constipated the other night and I went to the mirror and said his name 3 times and he appeared, poked my belly, and BAM! no more constipation.... Thank you David!
Yeah I remember him being the most deadpan performer but he’s incredibly animated and passionate about what he does. No surprise he’s one of the best in the world at his craft.
You cannot deny the dedication and talent David Blaine has for his Art. I have never seen him so down to earth and enthusiastic either. I guess with wife and kids, a man humbles and ages gracefully. Respect to Mr. Blaine.
You can really tell David Blaine LOVES what he does for us , the way he talks about all his art is amazing just like how he showed his mom his first trick at the library when he was 5 ... this man will forever be part of my childhood
No doubt, that’s why troubled youth love him! That wonderment is what keeps our species going, one of the reasons why humans are so eager to spend trillions on exploring MARS (eventhough it may be impossible) the surprise & excitement is an important stimulation for us to continue growth.
I feel very connected to this man on his level of excitement but let me tell you as a person who act exactly like that, genuinely happy to see someone and enjoy their company, people treat me like a Overly excited dog. They telling me to calm down all the time and it's kind of embarrassing. I find it a bit uncomfortable to be fully happy but I still try Glad to see He was so comfortable talking to Joe
This is my second time listening to this episode, the joy on both of there faces when a trick is done is awesome. They're both like little kids. Magic is real folks
The moment when he said “look how fast they pulled that up..oh you did that?” To Jamie. He doesn’t watch/listen to this show..You realize he isn’t a fan boy he’s just really into his art form. Respect.
I love this. Its so wonderful to see someone who has reached the highest level of success in their craft still have so much enthusiasm about what they do. David Blaine, my hat off to you.
There are so many videos of David and he almost always is this like, low energy, chill, quiet dude. Almost to the point you'd think he's on meds. But when he talks about his magic inspirations, he is like a child choosing a puppy. It's heartwarming after watching this guy since the 90s, seeing he's still so excited with what he does.
@@ericlofstrand With his ability to control his body it's odd that he can't overcome the negative mental commands that lead to mumbling/muttering like that...
French Toast If thats not true then what do you think David Blaine is? You dont hear how he lights up talking about peoples reactions and making them awe. Putting his health on the line constantly to get a reaction from people is love of the craft. If not then i dont know what is, please tell me.

Yeah, thanks to that librarian, David Blaine is now holding his breath for 17 minutes, shooting himself in the mouth and eating glass. Thanks Librarian!
Yeah. Fox had him behave that way to add mystery. But Daniel Madison met him once and did a trick for him. Daniel said he's one of the coolest guys and down to earth
Yeah, i thought of that too. I think that just shows his showmanship when he did those street magic programs. That slow, serious way of talking that we all got to know him with really did create a mystique.

it seems like he has changed tbh. I've seen plenty of interviews/candid stuff of him and here he is in a little too good of a mood and he is kind of twitchy/hyperactive. He is either on something..or he has gone a little punch drunk from his stunts. Maybe there's something in the water..
@@Talisman09 No here he's excited because he can talk about things that he usually doesn't talk about. Also, in every video of David Blaine doing a trick he is usually extremely focused. It’s writ not right
The way this librarian’s sincere encouragement, and his mom’s enthusiastic reaction and genuine support of her son’s interests changed the trajectory of a young kid’s life.
It matters.
not me crying at 5:23am on a Monday over this comment.
So ?

@@gollese Would you say he has Wisdom to perform his Magic tricks, Here is a trick you can try, I use 'Say It Backwards' but any app will do, play the word "Magic" backwards you hear it say "Wisdom", your 'Eyes See All' but you don't, play those words backwards they echo "Eyes See All" Your keen eye sight comes from the Macula Lutea, a little golden spot at the back of your eye, play "I Too Will Come" backwards it echoes "Macula Lutea" Gold like the Sun but sits in a dimple like a Golden Egg in a nest, called the Fovea, glistens in the white light coming from a black hole we call the Pupil. another word for student, "I Wolf, I Too Will Come" will echo "Macula Lutea Fovea", the Eye Awesome, Keen like the Wolf, play the words "Eyes See All, Eye Awesome" backwards "Messiah, Eyes See All". David Blaine talks like he's holding in a big bong hit.
just exhale bro, you can't get any higher.
Haha yes!
It's his latest stunt. If you watch until the very end, he lets out a massive plume of smoke.
LMAOOO
It is irritating AF.
Crazy how he’s one of the greatest people in in his craft, yet the way he talks about others with so much amazement
That my friend is passion
He never stopped being a fanboy
This is one of my favourite episodes so far! So much weirdness, willpower and talent all in one person. Awesome!
Great episode
David Blaine seems really enthusiastic about his stunts. He seemed like he really enjoyed his time on the podcast.
It seemed like he didn’t want it to end I felt sad for him I wanted to hear more
David Ramirez haha gave me a chuckle thank!
Definitely think it has something to do with his want to share his craft with the world.. Seems like a really cool and appreciative dude!
Yeah he's a real cool & good dude!
he is only enthusiastic about manipulating people
This one felt more refreshing and it didn’t start with COVID talk.
Have you heard about Michael Yo?
This is the funniest Joe Rogan moment 😂
😆 ruclips.net/video/yVcd6YbSgBA/видео.html
Yeah, I'm bored of his comedy friends who don't lead particularly interesting lives to be honest.
No shit huh
Yea, i agree, covid didnt come up until 10 mins in. 😉.
Helk , i wouldnt know. I stopped watching after 8 min. Not even
The best magic trick David Blane ever did was disappear from the public then reappear on Rogan for us all to remember how awesome he is. The long game is strong with him
He puts videos out all the time
Lol!! Well said sir

Wow! David Blaine is insane man! I grew up watching Street Art on tele. And I'll never forget how much his magic tricks blew my mind! Since then he's gone through massive changes from impressive card tricks to mystical illusions and then onto extreme endurance feats. No matter what happens in future, his legacy is secure. What an absolute mad lad! 😏
One of the best guests in the last couple of years. What a nice genuine guy.
TV Shows will never understand this is what we want. Props to Brian and Joe getting this all started years ago. it has shaped the way we view the world. In my opinion, for the better.
Too bad Joe acted like such an uptight prick... maybe he should have micro dosed before he came on so we got the Joe Rogan that showed up when Post Malone was on
The Kids Nice never know the backstory Joe could be tired, overworked who knows.
Bob S or maybe he’s just bitter that he can’t figure him out
He's kinda needy though.
Moral of the story: David Blaine is just built different.
Nope

@@badcornflakes6374 what lmao
nah man. ever since i read the Black Pearl as a kid I learned that humans can condition themselves to do things you didnt think was possible. that's what he does best.
edit: in the book the author explains how to expand your lungs with practice. as i sat there in 4th grade i went from holding my breath for 45 seconds to 2 minutes, I thought i was an actual god lmao.
@@badcornflakes6374 Trump is, I'm surprised he hasn't had a brain aneurysm or a stroke. 4 years of Constant ridicule of absolutel nonsense
The joy he has when he talks about OTHER magicians and the giddiness in showing someone a trick is why David Blaine is the best.
@Susan Jeanette really? The magic tricks are fake? Who would've guessed
You can hear him actually squeal at some points. 😂
@Susan Jeanette God damn it Susan. Or is this her son logged onto her account?
I love how in midst of conversation with David Blaine, he casually just busts out a dice trick that blows Joe's mind and then continues on with the conversation lol
I love how passionately he talks about magic. This guy truly loves his job.
He’s still like a little kid who just figured out how to do magic. I love it!
Israel Attacked USS Liberty and Did 9/11 facts
For me, this was the most interesting chat ever... David Blane is an absolute crazy inspiring individual
Watch the David choe one
David: I brought an axe..
Joe: Huh?
David: Cut my head off .
Joe: Uhhh wont that kill you?
David: trust me, the body is an amazing thing.
Shut up.
Hahaha
Lmaooo
So the US govt bought 30g OF LSD... David?
😂
I've never gotten into magic but watching David here with his enthusiasm and joy to be alive jumping off the screen, I am a convert.
It would have been really impressive if David had said "Jamie, pull up amphibians", and Jamie spit out the frog.
😂😂😂😂
🤘🏽🤣
Da Shiit 🤣 THAT WAS HILARIOUS!
I have a channel goin where I bag on trucks in the mountains. I just want to make people laugh.
Lmao
Anyone else get the vibe that David was actually the kid that moved to Las Vegas and got amazing with dice?
Amazing how the story of that kid and the fire bet winner were so close together. Lol
100% with his single mother
if you turn up the volume you can hear the faint whisper of kamala harris, "and that little boy was me."

I really thought David was the Dark-type.
Turns out he is as goofy and full of wonder as they come!
it seems like he has changed tbh.
Partially because if he would screw something up his career is pretty much downhill from there, but also because magicians at his level need to be perfectionists at heart. Anyways I think during an interview he said that he's never scared or anxious about a trick or stunt, he's just very focused
He dropped the whole dark and mysterious act when his daughter got old enough to understand and absorb it. Now he's setting a good example for her 👍
@@blazedone2583 No i mean I've him loads of times when he's not even doing tricks and has no reason to put that "character" on. He was always a nice guy but he had an almost sedated, much slower way about him. Maybe he was on heroin for 20 years and managed to hide from everybody lol..
Look for interviews, don't just type David Blaine
@@andrewbryton2936 That crossed my mind , you might be correct.
My favorite fighting movie quote of all time. Never back down. Djimon Honsous said "Breath, with every strike."
